Bought one in 2006, worked great. In 2007 I left for basic training, came back and got the RRoD. Sent it back in its coffin, got it back, it worked for 2 weeks then would just crash instead of RRod.

I bought another after that, and have had that one ever since. Never had a problem with it either. It has gone to Afghanistan with me twice.

Technically I only bought one, back in...lets see...2008. Never had a problem with it. I was one of the lucky ones. No RRoD, no disc eating, nothing.

Then, not long after the 250GB Stealthbox 360 came out, my girlfriend, who's dad works for Microsoft, was able to get me one at no charge to me. So I sold my Xbox 360 with 60GB HDD and charge 'n' play controller pack to my cousin for $50.

The Stealthbox 360 is what the 360 SHOULD'VE been at launch, or at least a re-design a few years later...not as late as it was. Excellent built-in wi-fi, sleak design, quiet, smaller and has an internal HDD. Better late then never, I suppose, but shame on Microsoft. They've had 3-5 years of that RRoD crap, they should've come out with the Stealthbox sooner.

In case you don't know what a Stealthbox(also known as Xbox 360 S) looks like, here it is:

BTW, I love the last option in the poll =D

I'm on my third but only because my brother had the first two modded then both of them ended up getting banned from XBL so now we have a Slim 360.

I bought mine the month before GTA IV came out. I've put plenty of time into it with series like Mass Effect, Fallout, GTA, Fable, Rock Band. Thousands of hours. Not to mention all the netflix I watch on it.

It has never red ringed on me. Never broken. Though the battery life in the wireless headset has taken a crap on me, but that's beside the point.

I hear people whine that they can't go 4 months without a system red ringing.... what the heck do you people do to your xboxes?

I bought a 20 GB refurbished Xbox back in 2007, it got the RRoD last year at around November, so my fiance bought me an Xbox 360 Slim in December and it's still working for me. If my refurbished 360 lasted years, I don't understand what people do to their own 360s to have them break in months or even weeks.

Maybe they are just unlucky to get the defective ones.

By the way, you have a nice fiance, it's really hard to find GF purchase gaming related stuff for their BF.
