Report: Sony Put Date On Full PSN Return - PS3 News at IGN

"Sony is uncertain when it can resume the services," Tokyo-based Sony spokesperson Shigenori Yoshida is quoted as saying in the report, before letting slip a new return date, "The company is in the process of adopting an improved security system and its plan to restart the services fully by May 31 is unchanged."

Please, let's not let this become another argument thread. But it's an important thing to follow and discuss.

I figured they were talking a little ahead of themselves when they announced it would be fixed soon, this seems a lot more practical. Hopefully it can be up by then...

I'm just glad to see they've given themselves a deadline. I was worried that they would just work on this thing until they're good and ready to release it out. Knowing that they're under some pressure to perform and deliver makes me a little less upset that it's taking so long.

It hasn't affected me too greatly, other than the fact I haven't been able to "test my might" against others on Mortal Kombat. The only REAL thing I do with PSN besides buying stuff on the store, is just synching my trophies to compare to my friends. In the PSN downtime I've gotten a few new games and have earned over 75-100 new trophies, lol. So it will be interesting to see the jump on my profile when we go live again.

Now that is a shame it quit working for a while for some repairs.

well, its already a disaster they would be fools to not get it completely right before bringing it up again...the horse is already out of the barn.

really, this is an issue between every psn customer and sony, and every game dev on psn and sony. hopefully sony can make good - it sadden me to think that just half a year ago sony was predicting psn would finally be profitable for the after all this time - I imagine that goal post has been moved back as well....

I don't play online too much on my PSTriple [reply if you understood that reference], but I'm disappointed it's taking Sony this long to put the PSN up. Still, if it's improved and stuff like this doesn't happen anymore, I won't mod too much.

Hopefully the freebie download is good.
