You guys know about the story of Metal Gear Solid?

I have a question thats been buggin me for awhile, and I can't find the answer to it. So maybe someone here can tell me.

How did Ocelot and Liquid get put inside the same body?

Im not sure but i belive ocelot replaced his arm with liquid and from what i understand at the ending of mgs4 Liquid was never in control of Ocelot body but Ocelot was just acting like Liquid.

I also have one question. What was Otacon doing while his sister, Emma, was drowning?

Ocelot's hand was cut off by Gray Fox in MGS1. After Liquid supposedly died, Ocelot had Liquid's hand surgically placed on his arm to replace his lost one (his choice being Liquid's hand may have to do with the significance of genes/DNA in the MGS universe). Over time, Liquid's consciousness began to gradually dominate Ocelot's body as his hand's "roots" grew deeper and deeper. It's been a while since I've played, so I forget what exactly makes this physically possible; it might've had something to do with FOXDIE or the nanomachines. Also take note that Ocelot technically wasn't a bad guy (kind of like Dooku from Star Wars or maybe Itachi from the Naruto series) Liquid was indeed the bad guy though.

Actually Ocelot used nanomachines and brainwashing to make himself believe that he is, in fact Liquid Snake. He did it so he could fool the Patriots or w/e, I don't know.

MGS4 says he was faking it through the help of nanomachines.

Basically, if it doesn't make sense and it's MGS, nanomachines are the key component of the explanation.
