Hi sorry for another pokemon thread as they are encounter almost everywhere...
I spent the last hour searching and reading and I havnt really found the answers I am looking for.


I was looking at Pokemon black and white the gamestyle looks great but i really dont like the pokemon for me they just look down right ugly. So i was thinking of getting Pokemon Soul Silver or Heart Gold.

What i like about PSS and PHG is that ur pokemon u select gets to follow u. nice touch but what i wanna know do u get the original pokemon in Black and White without trading or should i just stick to Soul Silver and Hearted Gold because they have the original pokemon.. i am not to phased about getting all of them i am not a pokemon fanatic, but i dont seem to like the new black and white games after watching a many reviews. an i prefer the first 256 pokemon after that i dont like em.

I see that some pokemon arent avaiable in location hunting so the only way to get some of them is trading for evolving or trading from previous generations. which would u suggest is the best game of the lot in ur "IMO" what community is best for trades and finding the pokemon u want like Mew... who are friendly and honest....

really new to this and i value each and every1s opinion on the games an what not.. also are u able to change ur trainer other then a boy and girl and look like some1 else like Silver or Gary or Lance or whoever or is that only for cheaters with lame codes? and what are the online features and possibilities? an whats Dream World i see u can pick up original pokemon from earlier games from there that arent in black and white..

Well, if you don't like the new pokemons, just get Soulsilver. I don't know if people still trade and all on it, but if you're not such a pokemaniac, you don't really need to trade to beat the game. And, soulsilver has 16 gyms, so its pretty long.

I didn't like the pokemon in black and white at first but they grow on you, I enjoyed playing black/white more because it felt fresh. I had the same thoughts as you, I liked the pokemon following you but it's really just a novelty. In the end get the one you think you'll enjoy more.

^This, except buy Heart Gold instead, Ho-oh is cooler than Lugia I kind of regret selling my origional copy of HG since I had a LEGIT Jarichi but I guess I wouldn't have the money to buy my 3DS if I hadn't sold it.

First of all, get Heart Gold/Soul Silver. Not only is it more up your alley, but they're by far the current best games in the series. The only real things Black and White have over them are the battle animations (which are purely aesthetic and doesn't impact the actual gameplay), reusable TM's, and that it's more difficult to grind without Audinos. They're pretty minor negatives in the long run, so just go for the remakes.

And to answer your questions:

1. No. You still only get two options.
2. Online options in HG/SS provide global trading, communication with other players, and online battles. There are other features included with Black and White, but most of them are negligible and I already recommended to ignore those versions for now.
3. Dream World is a feature in Black and White that gives players access to Pokemon normally not found in the main game, and with abilities they would normally not possess.

ahhh ok so not many online? i like soul silver i will get that then.

whats the new pokemon game coming out? Pokemon Gray is there a link to this game?

There hasn't been any announced. Hope they do on E3. But I don't know how much you'll find online, really haven't played in a long time.

I would buy HG/SS, it seems much more your taste, which isn't a problem. I have both and they are great games. Go for it bro. There are still a lot of Pokemon gamers who don't have fifth gen games.
