Default Recommend Comics!

Hello!

I am a big comic book fan, but I have a hard time to find any new series or albums that I might like. That´s where you come in (I hope): I thought that it would be interesting to see what others like to read and maybe find some new favorites

I´ll Start!

Pinocchio: Vampire Slayer

This is exactly as weird as it sounds. It is, however, good-weird

It is about Pinocchio after the original story ended (Note; original book story, not disney version) and Gepetto is killed by Vampires. Pinocchio accidentally learns that by lying he has an infinite stash of vampire killing stakes.

I was pleasantly surprised by this comic! I went in with the assumption that it would just be some weird parody novel, but in the end I quite liked it. It is kind of funny but still creepy at times. I really recommend it!

Flashpoint: Knight of Vengeance

This is a twist on the Batman universe where Bruce Wayne´s parents weren´t killed and it actually was his dad who became the Batman. A really cynical and angry Batman. Think The Punisher, but insanely rich.

There are only 2 issues so far, but they are great! All the different characters from the Batman universe are reworked so they fit the new storyline, and it is just great!

8-Bit theater is the only webcomic I can really stomach. Funny as hell.

Y: the Last Man

after an unknown disease kills EVERY male and Y chromosome on earth Yorick and his Monkey Ampersand Travel the world in search for a way to save humanity

SuperMan Red Son

a what if story, many roles are reversed in this story including SuperMan's Landing in Soviet Russia and becoming a Communist. considered the best Elseworld ever made

my personal favorite btw

All Star Superman

a great trade that encapsulates EVERYTHING to like about the man of steel, an animated feature has been made but i consider it inferior to the trade as certain stories are removed to shorten the movie.

No Hero

the less I ruin about the story the better

Transmetropolitan

nuff said

these are all damn good, I'll post more later

I´m going to try to get a hold of Y: The last man and Gotham city sirens to start with now. I have heard a lot of good things about Transmetropolitan, but have never gotten around to buying it. I will do so sometime however

Superman: Red Son is brilliant as well! I can very much recommend it to anyone!

As for webcomics, I have read and enjoyed all of your recommendations so far and can join in your recommendations there too

Added after 11 minutes:

Just a Pilgrim

A very well written post-apocalyptic comic written by Garth Ennis of The Punisher and Preaher fame. It is quite depressing, but very well written and with nice art. Highly recommended!
