The RPG Maker VX inspiration thread

Hey everyone.
I have too much time on my hands.

I have this really cool jRPG maker (RPG Maker VX). Obviously, put two and two together, you'd know what I'm trying to do.

Here's what you do. Tell me cool ideas, and I'll try to get them put in.

For now, I'm purely aiming for environmental stuff. I'll get into the skills and monsters and other stuff later.

Think of it this way... You have this one opportunity to make a jRPG... sorta.

If you want the program yourself, you could take the legitimate path, or the illegal one. Of course, if you do decide to pay for the program, probably better off getting the other one. It's way better, but has a Chrono Trigger/ Terranigma feel to it.

Anyway... GO!

Hmm... Best thing to do is to write and plan out a story, then start with the game.

Aww, but I was hoping you guys would do that for me. I'm pretty crap with making a decent storyline.

Like the last one I made had no buildup to events, and whenever there was a major event, it was rather random.

Not that I really have anything at the moment.

I did have a tiny project where the shopkeeper was the rudest thing you'd ever read the dialogue of, but classy enough to not swear. It was the highlight of the whole game... well, incomplete haphazard is more like it.

My rpg maker projects are always so random! I hardly ever make any plans before.

I haven't tried RPG maker. I've always used Game Maker.

why not make another story about the worlds end?(most jrpgs) JK but i too cant think about anything...

I kind of want to do a 3DS mashup, like when I did a Nintendo All Stars DotA (both a DS and Wii version XD )

Unfortunately, I can't find either of them. I might have deleted the folder while cleaning my computer one time.

They weren't too epic, but Gorea was the most OP mutha in the DS one.

Should I make a party based on actual characters, or make up my own ones for versatility.
