Default The SERIOUS World War 3 Thread.

Yes, I felt like making this thread because apparently people wanted a serious topic. So, have at 'er.

I'm pretty sure the next World War will take place in the middle east. I mean, with all the stuff happening there, it seems pretty likely.

Anyway, I doubt adding the word "SERIOUS" will make it any more serious than the last one.

Regardless, I think the next world war will be our last one we come out of with the world still intact. If we hit WWIV, sh*t's done man.

Well, on a gaming site, I highly doubt we will reach an actuall conversation. But I thought, "Why not?". If there are people like me who are interested in the topic, I think there could be some great thoughts.

Well a World War is defined as taking place in areas around the world. In the other World Wars the fighting didn't just take place in one country or continent. I could see it starting in the middle east though I guess.

If nuclear warfare gets involved in a wide scale and it becomes like world War 2, where civilian deaths were outrageously high, I think we could blow ourselves out of existence.

Yeah, that's very true. For the sake of keeping this conversation alive, let's assume that there will be a limited use of nukes in this war.

So, which countries do you think are going to group together? I can't see the UN keeping intact, so I'm sure new alliances would be formed.

I think the next war will probably be due to lack of resources, or the populous revolting and turning it into a large scale conflict, there are riots everywhere nowadays, lets just hope that world war III is a long time from now.

Yeah, that's why I picked the Middle-East in the OP. These new government movements haven't been prooven yet, so there is still a lot of room for error. I don't want to turn this into a religious debate, but the Islamic movement will probably play a part in these new regimes. Just look at Iran, making threats to destroy "The West" every other week.

I agree, it'll probably start in the Middle East.

If I'm still alive, I'm moving to northern Canada. Ain't nothing up there work nuking. Anyone wanna join me?

If it's anything to do with the land disputes in Israel, I doubt that it will involve many first world countries. I think the major viewpoint of most US citizens now is to mind our own **** and not get involved in foreign affairs that have nothing to do with us, whether allies or not.

Ehh, I'm not too sure of that. We've had to intercept russky bombers in more than one occasion in the past 5 years.

Besides, ever heard of the Alberta oil sands? Yeah. Largest supply of gas outside of the Middle East. Pretty damn important if you ask me.
