Didn't realize his cancer was already terminal.
Feels like he resigned yesterday.

Sad to see this.

It was expected though since he had pancreatic cancer, which is basically a death sentence in terms of survival rate. He will be missed.

Obviously someone must have been withholding the gravity of his cancer, because while it seems sudden from our perspective, insiders at Apple seem to have been expecting it.

Anyways, I'll basically repeat what I've said in his resignation thread.

While I might not have supported all of his practices, he was really an exceptional businessman and innovator, and had a larger influence on the home computing industry than probably anyone else ever has. This seriously seems to be the end of an era.

Still, if anyone in recent memory can die knowing that they've completely changed the way modern people communicate, work, play... it's Jobs. I'd say that his time was well spent.

Rest in peace Steve Jobs. You helped create some technological masterpieces that revolutionised the way we view multimedia, and by a further extent the world around us.

Oh.... I didn't know he was that sick. Hope his family gets through this all right.

But now that he's gone, I can't help but wonder what will happen to Apple.

It sucks that people die of cancer that much. He was 56 and people get cancer at all ages so it's really a crap thing to happen to anyone. I find it weird how people from three centuries ago could live to see their 80s and 90s and with all the advances in medicine of 2011 we lose all those people of different ages because of cancer.
