Default The things we do for love.

I'm currently in the process of eating some food my mom made for lunch but its not really that good. I'm still going to eat it all so i don't hurt her feelings though and that got me thinking about the things we do for love. So I want to hear some of your stories of things you've had to suffer through for your loved ones. Please leave your stories in the comments below.

Once my friends mom had my family over for dinner, and one of the foods she had were blueberries.

THEY WERE AS HARD AS A ROCK. I couldn't even chew them without cracking a tooth.

I looked over, and my mom was just sitting there quietly, smiling and getting seconds. She even told me later she almost got sick, but she just sat there and acted like nothing happened.

Thats love.

=)

Once when i was 18 i walked straight into a light pole for my girlfriend at the time. She was in a bad mood and she liked physical comedy. So i hit my head and fell flat on my butt because it kinda hurt a lot. Aaaaaaaand it worked she cracked up laughing.

I felt pain and hapiness at the same time.

I wouldn't call it 'suffering' through something, but I recently spent a lot of time with a friend of mine who I usually don't hang out with or talk to more than once or twice every month (pretty much because we don't really have a whole lot in common, we mainly just have common friends). But, see, it's because her mom had just passed away, and she needed her friends more than anything.

On an ordinary day, I wouldn't have spent time with her...don't get me wrong, I like her, she's very cheerful and funny, but we're just so different that there's never anything to do or talk about.

So, for me, by no means was it driven by obligation, because as her friend I really did want to be there for her–though you could certainly say I was doing it for love.

I once told my parents I disbelieved in everything that they held dear to their lives. Through their love, they still allowed me to live with them.

When I was around 18, there was this one time when I was at my (then) gf's place. She had some issues to say the least and attempted to use a scissor to slit her own wrist. I got very mad and upset, grabbed the scissor before she could hurt herself, and threw her down on the ground. I yelled that she's a freaking idiot, and she replied she didn't care if she got hurt. Then I said "so this is ok?" and used the scissor to slit my own wrist instead, was bleeding loads.
She got shocked to say the least and never attempted to hurt herself again after that.
