Why VGChartz isn't considered reliable - National Xbox 360 | Examiner.com Well, I hope someone knows about it, I can find 80 more sources on why it isn't valid, for anyone else that knows about the vgchartz controvercy, please add links to show why it isn't valid here, everyone using it(this forum only) most normal sites don't use it! NPD is more Valid. VGchartz do estimates and it isn't official sales from what Nintendo releases or any other companies.

All I have to say is take everything you read with a grain of salt and ultimately who cares!

Ofcourse the numbers are not 100% accurate is that even possible? its just a indication how stuff gets sold in general.

So lets call it ~600.000 and call it a day then? It clearly didn't sold 4 million?. It gives you only a indication on how much something sold. Not a steady number.

The microsoft example is kinda retarded all together.

He doesn't seem to realise that there is shipments going on with it. For example sony shipped 38 million whatever consoles, but sold only 34. Sony is ofcourse going to announce the shipped numbers as sold. As they practically are.

Same was what microsoft did with kinect. Shipped 8 million and stated it as sold. Which isn't the case. even if they announce 6 million, its still good possible thats actually the real number.

I agree with gatygun here. From what I have seen, VGchartz has similar numbers as other sources.
