| That may be so, like I said, I do not know much about it. But I saw this article when I was researching 3ds - which I might buy - and I had to ask - if Nintendo is in the toilet, I guess all of gaming is? Is Apple the only game company who will survive these times? June 2011 Shipment Update for Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft - VGChartz Shipments April - June 2011 July 2010 - June 2011 Lifetime Through June 2011 Wii 1.56m 13.60m 87.57m DS 1.44m 15.82m 147.86m 3DS 0.71m 4.32m 4.32m PS3 1.80m 13.70m 51.83m PSP 1.80m 8.60m 71.30m PS2 1.40m 6.20m 152.3m X360 1.70m 13.70m 55.30m Wii is failing? Well in the last year it shipped as many units as 360 - is that then a success? Nintendo has sold 4.3 million 3ds since March - is that really so bad? People are calling it a Virtual Boy - really? I only saw Virtual Boy on that Julia Roberts movie and assumed it was a toy, not a game system. And total systems for the last 12 months Nintendo - 33.74 million systems Sony - 28.5 million systems MS - 13.7 million systems What is this just message board drama? I find it hard to believe Nintendo is in trouble when they are selling 33.74 million systems a year, and 3DS has not even had its first holiday season....? What am I missing? You are 'struggling' when you sell 3x as many systems as a giant like Microsoft in a year? |

| Is this a trick question? I have about ten games on my iphone, and some were free, but yes, I did buy games from Apple.

Nintendo just had their worst projected financial earnings since 1986. So no, the company is not going bankrupt. They're just going through tough times. |

| Apple's main market is not games, Nintendo's/Sony's/Microsoft's is. Apple make media devices that can do games. Nintendo and the others make game devices that can do media.

That just what I know about global corporations. Is Nintendo losing money for a full year? Do you think they will this year? Quote:
Apple makes a ton of money off of their istore, I believe they get a 30% cut of anything they sell on there, including games? |

See the link I edited in. Analysts are blaming smartphones eating into 3DS sales, leading to that handheld's poor performance at retail. With the Wii sales already stagnating, that's why Nintendo is in a bad position. As for your questions, I have no idea. I'd imagine that the holiday season will reel in enough profits, especially in light of the price cut, but there are other factors to consider. We will see. |

System sales aren't the whole picture. Most of the people I know with Wiis have 1-5 Wii games, while the people I know with 360s have on avarage AT LEAST 30 games. Get what I'm saying? And from a gamers perspective the Wii failed because of the crap 3rd party support.

Nintendo is in a low profit mode, right now, Wavy Crockett. I don't think they're in a huge turmoil of self-destruction. The situation isn't as horrible as it seems. Back in the Gamecube era, I was having the time of my life playing many games and such. Now people tell me that Nintendo was doing horrible in that era. I didn't notice. Many other gamers didn't notice. The main people who noticed were the analysis. So, I believe this thing will just blow over. Heck, from a ignorant point of view, all I see are 20 free games, a $170 3DS, and great games coming later in the year. Ignorance is bliss. |
