Default What do you think of September 11?

September 11, 2001. a sad day. thousands of innocent people died. we have heard them trapped in the buildings, calling 911 for help, their family members,..

but now after airplanes crashed and buildings collapsed, who did it? what was the motive?

the official result of the investigation is that terrorists headed by the al qaeda and osama bin laden funded, hired "jihadists" to plot this attacks.
but then some investigators point out some discrepancies and ridiculous statements/results the official investigation made, like edited photos of people in the building, it's impossible for the building to collapse, thermite fragments indicating it was also bombed, how come the airplanes weren't intercepted, etc.

other claims include that it was staged, or some people within the U.S. government itself knew/conspired with the terrorists in performing the attacks because they had national interests, etc.

I'm undecided. I think it's really possible that there are some things we don't know, or that are covered up.. what do you think? do you think the official investigation tells the whole truth? or was it just a lie?

either way, lives were lost, R.I.P. to all those who perished in the attacks. your families miss you.

I have a hard time believing the "truther" conspiracy theories. I honestly believe it was a terrorist attack carried out by Al Qaeda. Of course we aren't going to know all the details of what happened, but I don't think that means it was an "inside job."

Yea, pretty much my thoughts on it too.

To think it was an inside job disgusts me.
Sometimes you just need to face the fact that there are actually evil people in the world.

I don't get the inside job conspiracy theory. What would the government gain from the death of so many people and the destruction of those buildings and planes?

So we could go to war with a cause. Not saying I believe it's an inside job, but that's what I get from reading about it.

It was very, very bad. It shook the country. A horrible day. People give young people **** saying "you weren't old enough to understand," but this is pretty much my view on it:
Spoiler!

From an Australian's point of view, it was a said series of events, and I'm against the conspiracy theories. However, I'm also partially against how the it was treated in the early days of it happening (The concept of you are either with America, or you are a terrorist) and the general bravado when Osama was finally caught and how Americans were celebrated (At least they did in the media that we saw), even if they did it first. Two wrongs don't make a right and all that.

But it wasn't just about getting Osama, it was about finally having closure on that situation. Do you know how many of the people that celebrated lost someone in the attacks, or at least had a personal acquaintance with? And plus he had videos out that were talking about possibly planned future attacks.

You can believe whatever you want. I believe, no matter the situation, that two wrongs do not make a right, and that no one's death should be celebrated.

As a New Yorker who knows tons of people who died in the towers and families that were destroyed in September 11th, all the conspiracy theories surrounding the day really do disgust me. People need to get over the "Government is evil and corrupt" crap and face the facts.

Most of the staging/bombing theories are flawed at best anyway. They are reaching moon landing and holocaust denier territory.
