Default What do you think of visual novels?

I had zero interest in them. But after playing 999: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors, I now hold a grudge against Japan & all their exclusive games. That...was amazing. Oh, and another example is the Ace Attorney series (kind of), which of course, is the best thing ever known to mankind.

Anyway, do you think that visual novels could be successful here? Do you want to see them localized?

Visual Novels are very... niche. I don't think they'll ever sell as well as FPS games or Platformers over here but by using the right tactics they can be modestly successful to the publisher/developer.

And, yes, I would like to see more of them localized since I've enjoyed both 999 and Phoenix Wright.

I'm hoping more companies like Xseed, Aksys, and NISA pick them up. I would be more than happy with a sub and nothing more but things like Steins;Gate really need to come over.

I agree with you guys. & I really want to try that mega popular visual novel Wii game by Chunsoft (creators of 999). I think it's called 428. Famitsu gave that stupid game a perfect review score. I have to play it. o-o

I would love to see visual novels localized. I love Phoenix Wright and I'm really enjoying playing 999. I've actually got the chance to play it recently; I am hooked on it right now(playing 999).

I'm assuming you've heard of Time Travelers, right? The director of 428 is the director of that game. So, you know, support it.

I decided to buy Phoenix Wright with some of my extra money so my girlfriend and I have been playing that together and we both enjoy it... Enough that she went and bought Phoenix Wright 2 and 3 as well as the Miles Edgeworth and Apollo Justice games. I went ahead and traded her the first phoenix wright game for persona 3 fes though.

Visual novels are important.

How else would we have Clannad then?

I love visual novels, but the story ones only. Like the ones without choices.

Like the "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" series.
captain pit likes this.

Ace Attorney, 999, and Ghost Trick (not sure if it is one...) are great.
I hope more Visual Novels get localized. Like, say, the second game about a certain prosecutor in a burgundy suit.
