Once in a while, we change obsessions, sometimes it's video games, sometimes it's getting fit, sometimes it's pursuing some kind of ambition, but what are the weirdest obcessions you've ever had? When I was a kid, maybe 1st grade I was obcessed with wanting Big screen TVs, I don't really know why, but their was some kind of appeal I had to them, I always wanted to look at ads with TVs and look at them, and imagine that they were mine. This was long before HD TVs, but these TVs were top of the line back then in the 90s early 2000s. That's the weirdest obcession I can think of other than Bennie Babies lol. What are some of your weirdest obsessions?

Hrm. So many to mention.

One summer, it was teaching myself to create clothing patterns from scratch—patterns that actually fit my non-model body. I'm the opposite of fashion-conscious (granola, more like), but it was a great mental exercise in spatial awareness, creativity, eye-to-hand translation, project organization, and so on. Once I made a few pieces and learned everything I wanted, I just stopped. I haven't made any clothing patterns since (it can be a TON of work).

Another year, it was worm composting. (I was doing a lot of cooking and had a lot of vegetable waste.) As usual with my obsessions, I looked at all sorts of ways to set up a worm box (plastic or wood, newspaper vs. straw, shape, sorting method) and worked out a really efficient way. I got to see worm egg cases, and little groups of teeny, tiny, cute baby worms! The best part—getting to tell people all about worms and garbage(ew!).

Most of my other obsessions are pretty normal, but still just as short-lived: MMOs and economic/city building games are just a few.
