I certainly hope new consoles come before 2015, that will be 19 years of the same consoles. Even the HD consoles would be terribly outdate in technology. Also Sony has been developing a motion controller since before the PS2 came out I believe. And finally motion control sucks lol |

I am not offending them though. Sony and microsoft are both awesome companies, I just hate it when they copy. Thinking of dualshock to... poor rumble pack.

It's part of the gaming industry to copy off of one another. It really boils down to who can do the 'new thing' the best.

It's one thing to copy, but to say that motion controls are a gimmick and not what players really want, and then to turn around and come out with your own motion controls and claim they're awesome...that's a whole different story. But whatever, I just wish Microsoft and Sony were as interested in the gameplay as Nintendo, rather than the hardware specs and all that other stuff that ironically nintendo seems to often ignore. The cycle will go on forever, there's an endless list of Nintendo innovations that the rest of the industry has adopted as their own. But guess what, such stiff competition and innovation amongst all companies only means a better end product for the consumers. So, in the end I'm happy. I'm not a fan of motion controls. I move around all day at work. When I play a game I want to sit on my butt. As long as the new consoles can cook for me, I'm happy. |

Sony and Microsoft released kinect + move in order to dig up a casual market that they didn't have and try to gain extra sales through it and to prolong there lifetime. But more to compete with each other. It wouldn't be smart to let 1 dig up the casual market and the other doing nothing. Sony and Microsoft are not going to give nintendo yet another wii motion control free card. If they decide to throw in a touchscreen in there handheld, and people tend to like it that year. they will simple use the same solution in there handhelds. I'm not surprised if at the e3 the NGP is going to be able to function as a ps3 controller on top of that. Or that teh controller from the wii2 is going to be a NGP looking device all together. makes sense to put touchscreens on a controller for nintendo. |
