Ok so I wear girl jeans and shirts from Hot Topic and also wear bracelets from there too. I have dyed hair and play video games that are not shooters but other genres and like anime. So why do people call me emo? I don't cut. Yes I get emotional and am sensitive but I'm not depressed enough to kill myself. Am I missing something? Like my friends and I dress the same but none of us are suicidal. If someone could give me some advise on how to shut people up or at least let know why they think this it would help.

They call you emo because you look and probably act like what the stereotype emo is. Kind of answered your own question. And wanting to kill your self is not part of that stereotype.

Its what people make it seem to be all about though. I'm sure theres more to it though.

If you really want to stop being called it, stop wearing tight girl jeans and hot topic clothes, and get the dye out of your hair. Hate to be blunt about it, but that's how it is. I just got out of HS last year, so trust me, I know how everything goes with all of that stereotype stuff.

Just ignore those people or tell them to **** off. If it's really bothering you change up your style or something. I used to wear that kinda stuff in high school, but now I rock Walmart tees, Hoodies, old school Levis, and gym shorts mostly. (Not all at once lol) I've never been sensitive though, in fact I'm kinda an asshole so I cant help you with that part. Good luck bro.

Edit: I gotta recommend the Levis and gym shorts btw, they let "da boys" breath more. Feels so much better than skinny jeans haha.

when I was in highschool, there was no such thing as emo. we called kids who acted like that "***s". a lot has changed in 20 years. really? *** is a banned word? lol.

Nothing changed really, just different naming and different dress styles. The results stay the same.

They mention emo towards this person, because he/she = different, you called it your word and at my school we called them retards.
