I have seen some here argue that it is 'poor form' for Nintendo not to drop the prices of their games for no reason. For example, they think the 'greatest hits' line came in 'too late', and they are angry about it.
Isn't that up to the consumer?
If Nintendo can sell record number of games at $50 price points, for exp. Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Wi-, and Wii Resort (to say nothing of the $90 Wii Fit bundle) - why shouldn't they? Why
wouldn't they?
Several PS2 titles sold multimillion copies, but not to the level of these Nintendo titles, and not with a consistent, full price at retail. So what?
Obviously Nintendo is responding to supply and demand, and even more obvoious game consumers feel that this gen if they are to pay 'full price' for a game, chances are they feel the best value is in Wii games, regardless of which systems they own. A $50 1rst party game is worth more than to their buying dollar than a handful of $30 games. Every game buyer chooses what they want to support and when they want to support it. If you feel $50 is too high a pirce to pay for a brand new game at retail, why not buy it used, or simply wait until Nintendo released the greatest hits line to buy a Wii?
Who is really at 'fault' here? Why are people blaming the seller for their own spending habits? Just say no?
