the answer to the question is two fold:

NO- because it's virtually impossible to "run out of ideas" especially on a game that relies so heavily on creatures that can pretty much be ANYTHING.

YES - not because they can't think of anymore, but because the logistics of creating a game that caters to 750, 850, 1000 (whenever they stop) unique pokemon is going to get out of control. They're eventually going to have to either really slow down on the frequency of games they release in order to give them time they need, or they're going to have to wipe the slate clean and start fresh with a whole new batch of pokemon and not worry about backward compatibility or bringing the old ones into it, or anything like that. There will come a point where it will no longer make any sense from a production/financial perspective to have so many.

I can't wait until the day comes when they start combining Pokemon together.

It's about time they annouce a 3DS game.

There'll be some point were Pokémons will be quite similar to any other pokémon.

For example: a Green hamster with blue cheeks that use Thunder and water. That's Pikachu with some other attacks...I think that has happened before *coff* Pichu, Minus and Plus*coff* Who said that?

No because the powers of imagination is endless. Also what pt-ALECZ said they could just creat the some creatures over and over with diffrent attacks and skills.

Like not at all they will never run out.
