 Your Gaming History?  First system I ever had was the NES, was around 4 when I receieved that (21 Now - do the math lol) Now my favourtie game had to be Super Mario Bros combo with Duck Hunt with the old zapper. Still got it to this day.   Third console was the Playstation, now this was at the time like graphics were getting rather important aswell as the gameplay and omg did it deliver yes it did, but then I was young and naive lol but it brought some great gaming moments with Gran Turismo 2 along with the Resident Evil series (Loved No3). There are so many classics on the ps1 that I cannot mention them all lol.  The fourth console was my first handheld, and it was indeed the Gameboy colour Pokemon edition and boy did I love it I must of been around 11 at the time. I had many classics on this little handheld but at the time it was all about the Pokemon games, and I loved all but most of all I loved Gold version spent countless hours on that game. My fifth console would of been the PS2, got this at christmas with Fifa 2003. Loved it, Metal Gear Solid 2, Gran turismo 3, Jak and daxter the List can go on and on lol.  Now this little purple box may not mean alot to quite a few people but to me it was amazing, I bought this for my birthday and at the time the graphics blew me away compared to the PS2 and the games were so much more differant it was like being back in 1994 with my NES with Mario and Luigi, Mario kart Double dash kept me up for 24 hour long stints lol Who ever didnt buy the cube or for those who have the wii but never bought any of the classics are seriously missing out. Its not too late you know lol.  Now this black box had mixed feelings from me. Firstly it was huge, secondly it was ugly but under the hood was a beast waiting to be unleashed. Not all the games were to my taste, but you cannot deny the Halo series was simply amazing along with Black which was an amazing FPS but it didnt get much love of me this console I just preferred the Gamecube and PS2 set up lol. Now I bought the Dreamcast and N64 (Picachu edition) together second hand from Gamestation for £40 along with Pokemon snap and Pokemon Stadium and Sonic Adventure and I loved it but I think I got them far to long in the game and I just couldnt play them as much as the newer consoles I had but I still deffiently enjoyed what Life they held inside them. I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my GBC to the GBASP and Im so glad I did lol again Pokemon Ruby was the star of the show and the remake Pokemon Leaf Green but there were so many classics on this handheld I cannot begin to name them all.  When the first DS came out I was very unsure about it I didnt like the idea of 2 screens or the touch screen, at the time I liked the idea of the PSP with PS2 graphics and gameplay but one day I was looking on the Net and I only had £120 on my card at the time, and this DS bundle with Zoo keeper was £120 special offer but I said to myself No I will wait for the PSP however 5 minetes later I had purchased the DS and it was one of the best decisions I ever made, again Pokemon was a favourite but the remake of Mario 64 was a shining star also along with Animal crossing. Soon as the DS Lite came out I was on that too fantastic little machine. Despite me loving my DS I got given a PSP for christmas, and I loved it - Could of been alot better but for the time having a PS2 in a pocket was amazing and did have some shining stars on the system but only mostly to the consoles end of life, Gran Turismo, Bleach and Metal Gear solid. In 2008 I thought to myself I'd love a PS3 but simply could not afford £400, So I opted to get the 360 because it was cheaper and Next Gen. However I popped to my local CEX (Games retailer) and sold ALOT of gear £350 worth to be precise lol and I just saw it a PS3 80GB Dualshock for £300 and I went for that and Im so glad I did. Having a bluray player and all the other things that this system can do is fantastic.  I was given the Wii to me by my G/F for christmas, simply put I only wanted one for Zelda and that little white Wiimote because it really interested me on how it worked - It soon became clear it wasnt made out to be amazing but I still have some great moments with some games on this system, Zelda, Mario Galaxy and Goldeneye.  This is my most recent purchase, the 3DS I simply bought it for Zelda lol however I love the whole system and I really am looking forward to some of the future games for this little handheld. There you have it my whole gaming history, well most of it lol I didnt mention I had the gamegear (still do) because I cant remember when I got it lol and also I play alot of games on my iPhone and iPad. Started with the Gameboy Colour back in the 90's. Link's Awakening, Donkey Kong Land III and Pokemon Blue were my first games  Couldn't afford a PS1 or N64 (Family was poor at the time) so skipped out that generation, only ever played them at my friends' houses. First major home console for me was the Gamecube! Still my favourite console, much better games than the Wii, in my opinion. Ended up buying a PS2 at some point as well. By this point I had recevied a GBA as a Christmas present. Eventually bought myself a GBA SP. Got the Wii & Nintendo DS on launch DS Lite, PSP & Xbox 360 after that as well.Currently rocking the Wii (rarely play it), Xbox 360 Elite, PSP (never play it) and 3DS G |

Alrighty. 1. Atari 2600- recieved for christmas '86 I believe. Ms Pacman was awesome 2. NES- cant remember the first time we got that system, probably around '88 or '89 3. Commodore 64- Traded an NES for it in '92. Had a couple fun games, but used DOS and games were on huge floppy discs. 4. SNES- got it for Christmas '93 I think. Got it with SMW and A link to the Past 5. Genesis- bought with my own money in '93 6. Gamegear- '94- Wasnt impressed, ate thru batteries like what 7. Sega Saturn- '95, for my Birthday. Got Virtua Fighter 2 and Shinobi. I loved that system 8. N64 and PS1- Got them in '96. Dont remember which I got first 9. Neo Geo Pocket Color- bought it in '98, loved it. 10. Dreamcast- bought on 9/9/99. Soul Calibur was AWESOME 11. Gamecube- bought it launch day 2001, with Tony hawk, Star Wars, and Waverace 12. PS2- bought it the day GTA Vice City came out, then went and bought some PS2 greatest hits, like Twisted Metal Black and Metal Gear Solid 2 13. Gameboy Advance- won it from Nintendo Retail website when I worked at CompUSA. Immediately bought every Castlevania game that was released for it. 14. Xbox- GF bought it for me in 2005 with Splinter cell. 15. Xbox 360- bought in 2006 and got a bunch of games for very cheap thru Microsoft Retailer website 16. Wii- first bought one in 2007, then joined the army, ended up selling it after getting back from AIT. 17. Nintendo DS- bought one from an acquantance on another forum. 18. PSP- bought a modded PSP-1000 on ebay. 19. PS3- bought in 2008 after getting to my first Duty station 20. Wii- again, in 2009 when I was in Afghanistan. 21. PSP Go- bought in 2010 for $100 before I left for Afghanistan the second time 22. 3DS- bought on Launch day, played for a couple weeks, then it sat unplayed until the 17th of June when I finally had the chance to download the e-shop, then I bought Ocarina today, so it will actually get played now. Currently, the systems I still own are Xbox (modded), PS2 (cause nobody wants to buy it), PSP-1000 (with a broken screen  ), PSP Go (that nobody wants to buy), 360, PS3, and Wii (which is only still in my possession because Im waiting to play Skyward sword, then I will sell it), and 3DS.

It started with NES with Mario, Donkey Kong and etc. Then SNES, Sega Saturn, Sega Genesis, and then PS1. I don't remember much about those days when I had NES, SNES, etc except the fact that I loved playing Nintendo first party titles and some of the great 3rd party titles. After I got myself a PS1, I didn't bother to get other consoles in that particular generation because PS1 was simply amazing to me. The other reason was due to the fact that I cannot save more money to get other consoles by myself (I think I had mentioned somewhere about my parents never likes any gaming related stuff). In 2005, I had to study abroad for couple years and I had to sell most of my gaming stuff which I regretted until today. Since then, I only played PC Games & any online PC games (Dota, Ragnarok, etc). In 2008, my brother bought Xbox360, I myself never touch the consoles (I have seen it though but not interested to play it until recently). On the other hand, PS3 is amazing but it's way too expensive for me. In 2009, during a particular lecture in my uni, one of my lecturer was talking about "Blue ocean strategy" and he showed us "Nintendo Wii" as an example. Me and my sister were immediately likes the consoles and we were planning to buy one but unfortunately I couldn't saved enough money so the plan of buying Wii was never realized. My handheld history started with Gameboy then Gameboy Color. Since then, I never purchased any handheld until recently. I purchased 3DS after I saved some money from my part time job. I also got myself a DS Lite. |

Consoles in order: Super Nintendo (1992)- My mom bought one when she was pregnant to play ALttP. She is the reason I'm a gamer and a die hard Zelda fan. Now she only plays board games on her iPhone. Sega Genesis (94?)- I remember playing Sonic on it. We had to put a book under it at a certain angle to get it to play the games, it was sold when I was around 4. Nintendo 64 (2002)- I saw Ocarina of Time and wanted to play it so bad. Got a N64 for Christmas with Majora's Mask. I think I got OoT Christmas of 2003. The only other game I had for it was Hey You Pikachu and Pokemon Snap. Playstation (2003)-Mom bought it off a friend. I only played Doom and Harry Potter on it. NES (2003)- Got off eBay to play LoZ and ZII. Gamecube (2004)- Eh, only games I every played on it was WW and Pokemon XD. Wii (2006)- Midnight release! Twilight Princess and SM-Galaxy is all it's used for. Playstation 2 (2008)- It was $99 at Walmart. Played the heck out of True Crime. Xbox 360 (2009)- I think I would go crazy without my 360. It gets more use than anything else in my house. Netflix, Hulu Plus, Fallout 3 & 4, and Assassin's Creed! My ex-stepdad has a PS3 for a while, but sold it to buy another 360. There have been 5 360s in my house at one time. Only one now, mine. Handhelds in order: Gameboy- Uncle had one and I had to beg my parents to get me one. Only games I had were Tetris and Pokemon Blue Gameboy Color- Don't really remember. Played a lot of Pkmn Crystal and Zelda on it though. Gameboy Advance- Got it for the Legacy of Goku Games Gameboy Advance SP- Backlight, I could play in bed! Gameboy Micro (Super Famicom edition)- I got this for no reason whatsoever. It's my only GBA I have left now. DS- Never really played it too much. PSP- MLB '08: The Show! It's the only game I liked on it. Played it for hours and hours. DS Lite- Got the Guitar Hero version. My step-dad got it for me so I would like him more. Didn't work. Pokemon and sucky Zelda games were about all I used it for. 3DS- Got it for OoT, but now I'm growing attached to it. I might get the Vita to play the Playstation games that I've missed out on. I'm more of a gamer now than I was in my Zelda/Pokemon only days. The funny thing with my handhelds, I got a GB when the GBC came out and a GBC after the GBA came out. I wasn't very techie as a kid and though I had to play the games on the systems they were made for. Then I found the Nintendo forums. Oh, how I miss those. |

consoles in order I got the N64 when it was my third birthday with the game yoshis story and DK64 My favourite N64 game is DK64 The next system was the GBA with the games metroid fusion and Sonic advance 1 in 2003 My favourite GBA game is Pokemon firered The next system i got for christmas 2003 was the Gamecube from my Mum and Dad with Mario kart Double dash and the Zelda collectors addition as pack in games and Sonic adventure 2 My favourite gamecube game is between Metroid prime 1 and 2 I got my PS2 in 2005 with the games sly cooper and Ratchet and Clank 2 My favourite PS2 game is Devil may cry I got my nintendo DS in 2006 with the games mario kart DS, Pokemon Dash and super monkey ball touch and roll My favourite DS game is New Super Mario Bros The nintendo wii is my favourite console ever i got it in christmas 2006 with the games Zelda twilight princess, wii sports, Rayman raving Rabbids and Ice age 2 the movie game My favourite game Wii game is Metroid prime 3 corruption  I got My Xbox 360 in 2008 with the Games Halo 3 and Banjo kazzoie nuts and bolts My favourite 360 game is Halo 3 odst I got my PS3 in 2011 at a Car boot sale for £105!!! I didnt buy a game for it until a month later which was Ratchet and clank TOD and Lair My favourite PS3 game is Metal gear solid 4 I traded a couple of PS1 games with a friend of mine for a Dreamst and I paid him £30 for his sega saturn Dreamcast came with skies of arcadia the saturn came with Panzeer dragoon My favourite Dreamcast game is Skies of arcadia and my favourite saturn game is panzer dragoon I got my psp in 2011 with the game Monster hunter Freedom unite My favourite PSP game is monster hunter freedo unite and last but not least I got my 3DS March 29 My birthday with SSf4 3D,Rayman 3D and Pilotwings resort My favourite 3DS game (so far) is OOT3D Last edited by Darecho64; 06-21-2011 at 04:32 PM. |
