So many tricks I never even thought of.

The method I've found easiest for racking up lives is to go to S1-3. Make sure you have a tanooki suit.

Upon starting the level there's cannon in front of you. Jump in it and launch yourself up through the ring and to the platform above. Ignore the special item box that's immediately there, and head for the middle of the platform. There will be 2 goomba boxes that will immediately start spitting out goombas as soon as you approach. Stand at the lip of the platform between the 2 boxes and wait for 6 goombas to pop out. They will all come towards you. Jump off the platform and on to the mess of goombas below, and using your tanooki suit after each jump, hold down the A button so you can float down after each jump, allowing enough time for boxes to keep steadily spitting out goombas for you to land on. Works like a breeze.

World 1-2 has gotta be the best way to get max lives

Mind me asking by the way, whats the maximum life a player could get from that trick?

The answer to that is the three crowns that also means 1110
and after you've got that change level and you will see that Mario (small one) got a hat and Super Mario (average sized one) loses his hat.

I usually just keep playing S1-1 because when you get the 1st Invincibility Star, run into all the monsters and get the 2nd before the 1st runs out you will get about 7 1ups. Also at the end there is a 3rd star where if you hit all the monsters you get 3 1ups.

Easiest way is picking up 1up mushrooms while collecting star coins in the Streetpass boxes, at an anime convention.

That just goes to show that SM3DL has got some sparkle left in it
and when you are finished try and look for shortcuts like this guy did.

I've decided my new hobby is going to be using the world 1-2 trick to max out the lives on demo units. So often I come up to one to get a Streetpass hit and find it sitting on the game over screen.
