Nope. I like it. I like having an easy game sometimes when I'm stressed out. I wish some of the worlds were longer and i'm having a good time finding all the stars and some are really hard for me.

Default Is it Just Me, or Was This Game A Bit of a Let Down?

EDIT: I ORIGINALLY MADE THIS IN MY OWN THREAD, SO IF SOME PARTS SOUND A LITTLE WEIRD, THAT'S PROBABLY WHY.

Okay guys, let me just start by saying that I thought Super Mario 3D Land was a very creative, and entertaining game, but in my opinion this game was a bit of a let down.

I mean after playing Super Mario Galaxy 2, I constantly asked myself, "How are they going to top this?" and then I heard about the New Super Mario Game for the 3DS. At the press confrence in January (or whenever it was), Nintendo released 4 images from the game. The most notable had to be the small Mario without a hat. This was probably MY favorite image because it showed us that the classic mushroom would be back, and the dumb life gauge that have been around sense Super Mario 64.

By the time E3 hits, everyone is even more excited for the game, as we recieved all sorts of new trailers, footage and more information on the game. The tanooki suit is also confirmed. When we see all of the Super Mario Bros 3 elements, that only made me want the game more. I watched all sorts of off screen footage just to see what else the game had in store for us.

Well, the time comes when the game is released, and we all go and get it. Once I finally got my hands on it, and I can't even tell you how happy I was. After roughly 4 hours of play time total, I was already at world 8. I was slightly disapointed at this point. A while later, I went off to beat the Final Boss. The Boss fight was quite amazing, I will admit that. And then the special worlds appeared. I really was expecting this, because I new that Nintendo wouldn't make a Mario Game that only lasted 4 hours. I work my way through the Special worlds, and yeah, they were fun. They were were creative. And yeah, the ending was awesome.

...But after some thinking, it really didn't top Galaxy (or it's sequel) in any way. I mean, we had the same 4 bosses over and over again. And the music... I swear, they used the same track in over half of the levels. I still have that song drilled into my head. And the levels were just too short and too easy. No, I haven't found all of the star coins yet, but you don't have to look THAT hard to find them.

Despite all of that, I really did like the power-ups. The return of the Tanooki suit was probably one of the best things about the game. But why did Nintendo have to take away the flying ability?! Oh well. And the boomerang suit was pretty clever. I could finally get back at all of the Goombas and Koopas who had killed Mario in the past! These were some pretty awesome power-ups, and I'm actually impressed at how Nintendo keeps bringing new ones to our games instead of reusing old ones. Although sometimes I wish that they would bring some old ones back, like the Spring suit from Super Mario Galaxy...

Now this game, like every other Mario game I've played was amazing and I really did enjoy it. Yeah it was great, but in my opinion, it really didn't even come close to comparing with the Super Mario Galaxy games. Please keep in mind that this is only my opinion, and I only posted this to see if you guys agreed (or disagree) with me. Please feel free to post your responses below, although although I ask that you don't bash anyone for what they think.

.....But we kind of expected something better because it's the successor to Galaxy and Sunshine. Instead we got a game that would be easy to a 5 year old.

I'm not too sure what you are trying to say. But I don't think I agree.

And Mario Kart I agree with the multiplayer thing.

On this topic, I don't have a problem with the linear structure of the game...every game can't be the same as every other on the market or there wouldn't be any creativity.

I would have liked more of a challenge like the old Mario games of yore (1985 to 1993). I know Nintendo was going easy for younger audiences, but I'd like to point out that many of us were kids in those days playing those difficult levels.
