Before you know it the holiday season will come back around, with a pokemon game on the horizon and a new Mario game already announced and hopefully luigi's mansion 2, the 3ds is set for another record breaking Christmas. The WiiU is also comming out this holiday season and I am looking forward to that. My question is, should Nintendo wait and release the WiiU early 2013 and let the 3ds dominate the rest of 2012, or have them both go at it for the holidays potentially competing against each other? What u think guys?

Nintendo have already confirmed the Wii U will be launching this year in all major territories, brah.

Yes, but do you think that is a right decision with the 3ds continuing on its great run will they hinder each others sales?

That's like saying the Wii affected the DS when it was launched in 2006. Same company, different markets.

I understand its in different markets, I'm just looking at it in the eyes of a lower middle class kid, you can only pick 1 for Xmas a 3ds with a couple great games or a WiiU? I could be wrong but in 06 didn't the ds have a 2yr cushion?

That still isn't a problem to Nintendo, since they get money either way. They aren't competing against each other, that's like saying the PS3 is competing with the PSV.

Well, i'm sure the market share of lower middle class kids who can only pick on system is small enough that it won't have any sort of visible effect on the sales of either system.

Same here, I would hate to choose between 2 new systems only to be able to get 1, thats why i asked the question, let me enjoy 1 for a while (at least 2 holiday seasons). dont make me choose so early! luckily i already got a 3ds. May not make sense to some people, thought i just throw the question out there
