You're going to need an SD card slot on a computer.

Many computers come with SD card slots built-in nowadays, but if you don't have one I believe you can buy a "SD slot to USB" adopter to connect an SD card to a computer.

Then you would simply drag the music from your computer to the SD card on your computer... pretty self explanatory.

You will need a SD card reader if your computer/laptop does not have.. and of course a SD card. Place AAC/MP3 files into the SD card and regardless of location, the 3DS can detect it for you.

Well as said above, but if the 3DS read's the files the same way as the current DSI(XL), then you will have to add tags to youre music other wise the chances are that the songs order get's thrown all over

I suggest purchasing a 8GB SD card, I personally think that 8GB is a good size if you want to store music too.

No you can play .MP3 files (Don't know why you would want to listen to that horrible compression, but that's beside's the point...) but the order in which the songs are listed will be wrong... If you have listed the songs as 1: 2: etcetc. It will first show all music files with the 1 (so if you would have the Brawl Soundtrack as an example, it would play file 1: 100: 101: etcetc)... In the MP3 file itself you need to add a tag in which you place the order and not the file name

Was just about to post a thread about this but then found this one

I've transferred music to my SD Card and put it into my 3DS, but it doesnt show up?

Do you have to create a folder somewhere for it to be detected? When i use Nintendo 3DS Sound there isnt an option to select the SD Card like i've seen of videos on the JP version
