Remember that less than 6 months ago, we were saying the same thing about the 3DS. Things can turn around quickly for the strangest of reasons.

And as Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart have proven, it doesn't even take great games to sell systems.

I think the PSVita will either excel or fall into the dust.

He was implying that it isn't great, never did he mention good.

I remember that YOU were saying that. I never doubted nintendo. I swear all I used to see from you and cudpwns(whatever that means) were posts on how the 3ds was a virtual boy-esqe failure and it would never be as good as the ds. Well what do you have to say now turncoats? I see you guys are sticking up for one another though so at least you're loyal to each other.

P.S. I might be a fan-man(kuz I for damn sure am not a little boy), but I love when people get proven wrong and its not me.

Hmm, interesting. And thats just Japan alone? Boo-ya!

Looks like the Christmas market really boosted sales. I contributed to that. I saved up for mine, then waited for the Christmas bundle deals, looks like I wasn't alone.

Yeah that makes me laugh. First of all, less than six months ago would mean after the price cut. We already knew the price cut worked and the 3DS had its second best week ever after it came into effect.

But okay, even before that, what I remember was some people saying the 3DS was doomed and us telling them they were wrong. And now the people that were wrong are trying to tell us we thought the 3DS was doomed?

Look, the situations might seem similar on the surface, but the fact is the 3DS wasn't doing that bad, its numbers were disappointing compared with expectations but it sold to levels similar to or above PSP. It wasn't even selling that much less than the original DS despite the DS having the holiday launch boost on its side. The Vita is in a different boat as the numbers it is pulling are many times inferior to those of even the PSP despite having been released in the same time frame. The Vita is doing worse than the 3DS was doing, and even then, we're not calling doom, we're saying the road ahead is spectacularly bumpy if Sony wants to turn the Vita into a success. It's certainly not shaping up to be anywhere near the success the same people who were wrong about the 3DS thought it was going to be.

But Nintendo has Reggie 'My body is ready and my chin is shiny' Fils-Aime, and Sony has Jack 'the Stool' Tretton.

.... Yeah, good luck with that Sony. No really, I want you to do well, I'm buying your friggin' product in 3 days.

Let's not rape history guys. Prior to the price-cut the 3DS was all but dead, and it was slowly dragging Nintendo to its grave. Gamers, investors and shareholders were disgruntled, many promising games were cancelled and developers left the system in droves. And Nintendo made mistake after mistake after mistake.

Hindsight does not change the truth. If Nintendo hadn't slashed the price during the 3DS's last dying breath the system would be dead and buried by now.

I know fanboys don't like to be reminded of Nintendo's failures, but the 3DS was a huge failure until they miraculously managed to turn their doom around.

Never forget.
