Shortly after the launch of the Nintendo 3DS system in America I will be launching a website entirely for the exchange of MPO picture files.

This will allow users to exchange their own 3D photography (not entirely limited to the 3DS but also other 3D cameras capable of producing MPO files) and 3D artwork.

Mostly the site would be used for my own personal online gallery but if other people would like to contribute and have their very own section I'll gladly look at what they have to offer

So how would this work?

You would see a gallery of preview images with the option to view in anaglyph or cross-eye (or just plain 2D) and if you like what you see you could download the MPO image to view on your 3DS or other 3D viewing devices.

(Actually, I may just ask David if he could walk around getting some pretty 3D images of Japan and start the website with just those few images...)

I have yet to actually see a website that does this... There are many thousands of websites devoted to 3D images, but rarely have I ever seen anything related to the MPO picture format (maybe because its still new...) maybe they do exists, but I just haven't seen any yet :P

What do y'all think?

Hi Avesthefox, have you put together a .mpo gallery yet? I'd love to see some mpo's. I made a page with a few old pictures, as well as one artwork I have done. These show up in 3d on a 3DS:

Alright, guys, sorry for the delayed response. No, I haven't yet put the site together, I have acquired my own web-space and my domain name (bullockarts.com) is still pending... once I have acquired the domain name, I'll start putting together a huge section for MPO files (and other 3D imagery)

Actually... I've made the payment three days ago, and the guy who's trying to sell me the domain name has yet to even contact me back (nor has he responded to any of my e-mails)... c.c I'm actually wondering if I've been had.

that would be like saying IGN.com is the main source for gaming news... its not. there are plenty of other gaming news websites.

And I assure you, there are more than one sites devoted to MPO files.

So no disappointment had.

I've run across two so far. I doubt they're exactly what you want, but thought I'd point them out.

Upload and Share 3D Photos (3D Porch)
They show lots of different views, including side-by-side, anaglyph, and wiggle gifs.
I haven't really tried it, so I don't know how well it works. Tons of people have uploaded 3DS photos, though, so maybe it's OK.

The downside is that they're still trying to figure out the 3DS format. Some of my pictures work just fine, some are completely screwed up. I've e-mailed them, though, and they are at least actively working to get that fixed.
