Default Lite controls... Are they bad?

(Hopefully, by asking this I won't be classified as a noob.)

Is it frowned upon by using the lite controls on online matches? Because I just can't pull off any combos with my mains with pro controls... I don't want to be the one who spams using lite controls, and I don't to begin with.

Spamming in fighting games is a fictitious excuse for those who don't know how to handle a tactic their opponent takes advantage of.

With that out of the way, the only thing inherently wrong with Lite controls is for charge characters like Bison, Guile, Chun, and Blanka, the Lite controls omit the 2 second charge requirement for special moves. This makes any strategies that involve crossing up your opponent (which in Pro and on consoles makes them lose their charge or stop blocking) useless.

Don't even get me started. >_>
If you're going Lite, just please don't pick charge characters.

Will do. I'm trying to get good as viper but I'll try and 'master' pro controls!

They're good as long they're not abused. I find it a lot better for moves like Shoryuken, where the input could easily be mistaken for some other move >.>
If spamming bothers you, then there's no problem with Pro. But spammers seem to be getting rarer, at least for me.

That's really the only reason I use Lite. I like keeping moves that are hard to pull off simply being easilly used with only the touch of a button... No pun intended O_O''

Other than that, I don't use lite for spamming.

After a pro control match, I realized that's a lot more funner than lite mode (Less one-sided if you catch my drift). I think it's safe to say that I'm going to try and master Pro controls now.

Yus i would prefer pro, not just for the fact of spamming, and charge brokenness like explained above, but for the fact of satisfaction of destroying someone by inputting (at least thats how i feel lol)

Also, you can easily tell if someone is using the touch screen in games like ssfiv and doa just for the simple fact of a slight stall because the player has to look down and press the button of the move that they want to use, that and the fact that most lite users will try to use the ultra as soon as they can

In DoA, there's a little icon that appears in the corner of the screen if the player used the touch screen to perform a move, IIRC.

When I'm vsing a Honda in Pro Mode that likes to just sumo smash, I just cross up to a sweep and repeat until he dies. Of course I put a taunt after every sweep
