Default Where Are All the MGS Reviews? (and Post Your Own!)

Normally IGN, Nintendolife, etc. post them early, but Edge and Game Informer (haven't received my Nintendo Power yet, but they gave it a 9) are the only owns who have. Anyways, I want to read your reviews and want you to read mine, hopefully as encouragement for any skepticals out there.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
Rating: 9.5
Way beyond Solid, this is the best game on the 3DS right now. It's a Triple A title, with a great plot, full of twists. The combat system is very in-depth, and the game provides a hearty challenge for those for those who expect to just rush in and shoot. Stealth and camoflauge are absolutely vital to survival, and brilliantly implemented. The enemy AI is well-developed, and their alert system contrasted with your camoflauge techniques provide an atmosphere that demands espionage. The ways you can combat your enemies - rather via hand-to-hand melee, a slow-acting tranquilizer, a variety of guns or grenades, a captured python that you can then recapture and eat, or a nest of angry hornets - are endless. You can stranglehold someone at knifepoint and interrogate them, knock them out, or slice their throat, then drag the body into grass so other enemies won't see it, looting their ammo or grenades. The elaborate "little things" (that actually serve as important gameplay elements) are what makes this game shine, like the conversational codecs and capturing your own food to survive (the more your hunger/stamina is full, the quicker you heal wounds). The Yoshi dolls hidden throughout the game are also a nice Nintendo touch. My only disclaimer is that it isn't beginner-friendly. The controls are fantastic and effective with practice, but very complex. This is truly a gamer's game, and is best played with the Circle Pad Pro. Buy this game.

CheatCC review: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D Review for Nintendo 3DS - Cheat Code Central

"The 3DS may have had a bit of a troubled launch, but games like this show that this system definitely has a lot of untapped power. I hope more developers take Konami's example and give us games that are worth playing on the 3DS. Even though Snake Eater 3D is technically a remake, it feels like a whole new game, and is one that definitely shouldn't be missed." -4.7 out of 5.0.

Gamespot's review: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D Review - GameSpot.com

"Snake Eater 3D is an excellent treatment of a justifiable classic. The story and characters hold up nearly a decade after their introduction, and the improvements to stealth mechanics enhance the entire experience. It's modern enough to appeal to a new audience, and the improvements should draw a lot of series veterans back into the jungle. The 3D is some of the best on the system so far, and the mature tone is a welcome addition to the family-friendly nature that permeates Nintendo's catalog. The game even makes excellent use of the 3DS hardware while avoiding the perils of tacking on new features for the sake of variety. It's an incredibly successful upgrade to an already fantastic game and is easily one of the best games available for the 3DS to date." -8.0 out of 10.

My review will come later. :b

I am surprised by the good rating from Gamespot. I thought it would only get a 7.5 (at most) from them. Glad to see they liked it.

Hopefully, I will get to playing the full version in a month or two (hard to do a lot of gaming during university.)

Yeah in the demo the only time I seen it drop below 20-25 fps was when I was intentionally trying to by spamming 4 smoke grenades in one area and that felt only a drop from what I could tell to 15 fps in the demo.(when walking in the smoke out of the smoke viewing at distance did not have fps drop.)

You can read my review in my thread.

I saw some more slow down later in the game but it wasn't much. And DarkK I really never notice slow down during cutscenes.

I think this is the best game so far on the 3DS too though. With MK7 right behind.
