Exclamation 3DS SD card problems

I just got my 3DS back from repairs from nintendo, and I was going to put my sd card in but the little slider lock thing broke off, I tried to put it in but it said the Writ protection is on it, so is there a way to remove the writ protection without using the lock thing?

Why would you have a lock on it in the first place since you need to save game files and such on it?

No, there's a little slider to the left of all sd cards that locks it when you take it out of a device and my broke off

Try and use a needle to force the broken swtich over, or buy a new one and copy all of your old data to it.

You can't copy anything if the Write Protect Switch is on. That's the whole point.
But I do agree you should try using something small to push the switch back. And if it works I suppose you could use it as is. But I'd recommend using this as an excuse to get a bigger one.

Write protection. WRITE. You can copy the files to your PC no problem with write protection on. I use it all the time to transfer my virus killing programs when I'm cleaning up a PC.

Try sticking a small piece of sticky tape over the switch (make sure it doesn't go over the metal bits) so that the 3DS & computer can't read is the switch is on or off.

It worked for me.

Try to use a needle or a pin to move the small thingy inside that broke off.
