| I just noticed, upon trying to register my games for coins, that the Club Nintendo insert that comes with ALL new Nintendo games is missing from the cases of the games I got from Gamestop. I purchased all these games NEW from Gamestop. I also noticed, looking at Bit Trip Saga game that I just got 2 weeks ago that they were not in shrink wrap, but instead had that little circular tape thing covering the opening. Sooo, is Gamestop opening NEW games, removing any inserts that come with the game, and then STILL selling it as new? What's the point in removing a Club Nintendo insert? The Nintendogs and Cats, which came with the bundle (from Toys R Us), Tetris Axis (from Walmart), and Pilotwings (from Target) ALL had the Nintendo Club insert. Anyone else have this problem? I don't see any other way to register the games and get coins. Is Gamestop allowed to do this? Last edited by nolegirl; 02-19-2012 at 07:38 PM. Reason: . |

What games didn't have the insert? And yeah, gamestop opens things and sells it as new. With a big ****ing sticker on the case that's difficult to get off.

I don't know about some of those, but yeah. 3D land and MK7 definitely should have had them. That's gamestop for you.

It sounds like they are selling used copies that people traded in with the boxes. That's a ***** move gamestop.

| Either that or they open copies and take the slips out. Either way it's a ****ty thing to do.

I'm seeing other complaints about the same thing. I guess they use new games as displays and instead of using fake display boxes with an insert they open new games and remove the game but not the inserts or they're removing the inserts and not putting everything back. Sucks either way and I won't buy a new unsealed game from them.

| That's exactly what they do. I know someone who works there, and he told me all about it. He hates it.

But why are they taking the inserts out, why? What purpose does it serve for them? This sucks because I can only TRY to get a sealed copy for the new Bit Trip Saga I just got 2 weeks ago. I can't do anything about the other 8 games. Why are they allowed to do this? I just read about the coupon incident with the Deus Ex game, so this is something they have been doing for a while. How can they get away with this?

lol it's literally a fire-able offense for someone to do that. i work at gamestop, i have for years and i'm very familiar with the rules. if i ever caught ANY of my employees doing that, i would fire them on the spot. Bit-Trip Saga does not come with any registration material (i own it) but the mario games should have. If that's not the case, you should go in and speak to the manager of that gamestop -- that or tell me the number for the store and i'll report it to their DM. i promise you this is a fireable offense, and isn't taken lightly in the company -- please do not blame the work of a TERRIBLE employee on the company as a whole, bad/incompetent people work in all kinds of jobs in this country. |
