Hey guys. I found out a mathematical equation to solve the price point at least in the states.
Here it is:
you divide the Japanese price point of the DSi by the American to find the magic number
18900 yen divided by $170= 111.764706
then you divide the 3DS price point by that number
25000 yen divided by 111.764706= 224.867
Which rounds up to $225.
I have proof that this formula works:
you divide the DSi price point (18900) by 111.764706, which is equal to 170, the Launch price of the Dsi in the states.

So what do you guys think

Thanks. I was on my laptop, doing math equations when the answer came to me. I just use my TI-84 to solve it

Okay, let me test this using the DSi XL's price.. converting to 3DS.

20000yen divided by $190=105.2631579
25000yen divided by 105.2631579=$237.50

The price should be around $239.99. Which is darn accurate.

Let me check again using DSi to DSi XL.

18900yen divided by $170=111.764706
20000yen divided by 111.764706=$178.94

Round off... $179.99.

Hmm.. this really gives a rough estimation.

Also, you divide the price of Japan by that america, then divide the price point of japan by your answer. at least if we know Americas price point

Nintendo broke the release day pattern by announcing that they're releasing it on February, 26th. Maybe they'll break this price "pattern" too.

But what about this?
The Wii costed 25000 Yen at launch. In United States it costed $249.99.

Which is what I was expecting the 3DS to cost, too! I doubt it will go over $250. It's amusing people freak out, thinking it'll be $300. Although it very well may be released at that price, I highly doubt it. Nintendo's smart.

How could no one think of that before.

This makes me excited for the 3DS again as I was before the 300$ price was announced.
(Especially since the USA prices to the European price doesn't change, for example: 250$ Wii = 250EUR Wii. )

I'll do your equation with the yen converted to USD.

$230.77(converted yen of DSi) divided by $170(launch price of DSi) = 1.357

$305.25(converted yen of 3DS) divided by 1.357 = $224.94

We almost got the same answers.
