Controversial industry Analyst Michael Pachter isn?t too impressed by the variety of titles we will see at E3 next week. He believes that there?s going to be too many generic shooters and not enough originality coming from software developers. Thankfully he believes Nintendo will change all that and add some well needed innovation into video games. What do you think?

I'd love to see Miyamoto's take on the FPS genre.

I think Metroid Prime is First Person Shooter genre, and I don't know if it was Miyamoto who made Metroid?

The thing is this particular prediction of his is so uncharacteristic of him. That doesn't instantly equate to correct, but it certainly has a higher likelihood of being correct if he isn't being himself. The guy freaking praised Nintendo! That means...

I'm very much looking forward to Journey, but those aren't the titles gathering the biggest amount of attention is his point. I wouldn't even normally consider defending Pachter in any way, but this usual moron may have a savant moment here.

Kid Ikarus was also the work of Gunpei Yokoi.
Unfortunately, he died.
Miyamoto directed the Prime Series though, so I guess that would be his take on the FPS.

Early in it development it was third person but they change it to first person.

For once I agree with this guy. FPS just drown E3 year after year. Nintendo actually comes up with things though some aren't that great (Wii Music anybody?) Otherwise he's right about Nintendo keeping things fresh.

How WAS Geist? I never got to play it when it came out.

I love how these are all on Sony platforms and not on the 360. Maybe Pachter was only thinking of Microsoft. They did have a pretty poor E3 conference.

Story was pretty good. Very unique. Shiggy was involved with that aspect i think.

Everything else was standard and lacked polish. and ****.

Pachter was right. That's all.
