Default My Observations of E3 2011

I'd tried to make my list full of the not completely obvious things...
  • From all the information they have given us it appears that only 1 of the 'Wii tablet' controllers will be usable "one single player who is looking at the game from a different point of view."-From the Iwata Asks thing
  • Wii U controllers might have built in Sensor Bar? From specs-"...stereo speakers, a sensor strip and a stylus." Could that be the black bar at the top?
  • Assassin's Creed Appears to be announced (On the developer video 1:27) Link
  • The screen probably does not have multitouch (No multitouch was shown and this IS something they would advertise/show off)
  • Up to 5 controllers
  • Still needs the sensor bar
  • Wii Remote Plus is a remaining major part of the Wii U.
  • Some sort of video ability on the web browser
  • Zelda Game for Wii U looks like it may a become full-fledged game.(hopefully...) Also, has more 'twilight princess look' than Skyward Sword.
  • Tetris has AR...
  • Kid Acarus, Mario 3ds, Mario Kart 3ds, & Skyward Sword all releasing 'Holiday 2011'
  • Kirby Mass Attack & Star Fox 3ds releasing 8 days apart (Sep 11-19)
  • Fortune Street by Square Enix featuring Mario Characters
  • Mario Party 9 features a level where all players ride together in a car
  • New Prof Layton for DS
  • Kirby Wii has 'drop in' multiplayer (People can enter/exit anytime) 4 players=Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, & Waddle Dee. Releasing Fall of this year. Has storyline that sounds like Pikmin (Alien ship falls, must retrieve parts)
  • Animal Crossing has swimming and some sweet Zelda Master Sword scene thing.
  • Super Mario 3DS has goombas with tails...|Video| Look at 7:30. Also listed as a feature on it's page on the Nintendo E3 site... Also, levels have a time limit. (May just be demo, but looked like it was part of the actual game)

Wii Vitality sensor will be released... into the wild where it can live its life free of the hellpit that is Nintendo.

The Wii U controller screen will not have multitouch. There is a 3 part interview with Reggie on Gametrailer. It's very interesting. He talks about HD, online, price ("the price is worth the value of the expirence" i.e. it's expensive), ect.

At first I felt a little underwhelmed because I didn't know quite how to digest what I was given, but as I've had the day to think about it we do have a lot of things to be thankful for. Let's not forget plenty of content that has yet to even be released or even finished, and there's still 2 days left of the show to hear about 3rd Party 3DS efforts. I'm still not feeling the name entirely, but I'm not experiencing the need to force "REALLY?" out of dumbstruck lips either. I'm still hoping they shorten the name to Nintendo U. It happened with the Nintendo Ultra 64, and it could happen with this. Just go and compare this show to 2003 and 2008 and you'll see we've got no reason to riot angrily through the streets.

As I saw portables take the leap into good 3D games (not the crummy phone ones) with the DS and PSP, I wondered how long it would take to bring portables to the level of a console and then fuse the two together. Sony has practically PS3 visuals on the Vita, and Nintendo put a screen in their main controller. It's all going according to plan. A bit dumb of them to not include multitouch, but it's still all going according to plan. I'm doing Mr. Burns' "Excellent" pose when I'm saying that, just in case you were wondering.

Okay, someone needs to make a flash cartoon of this. NOW!

I'm pretty sure they just used Twilight Princess scenery and characters and bumped the graphics up. That was just a technical demo, not a trailer. Of course, HD Zelda would be sweet and the TP style will (hopefully) return.

Much like the Gamecube Tech Demo that was in the style of Ocarina of Time which in no way foreshadowed the style of Wind Waker.

I agree with this, but I have to say, Nintendo's smart move financially would be to blow people out of the water with graphics.

Interesting points. I believe Zelda WiiU was a tech demo based off of Temple of Time--Gohma battle (Twilight Princess). I really can't wait with everything being announced.

Financially it wouldn't make a difference, however in terms of sticking to their "Targeting everyone not just casual" talk yesterday I think something more along the artistic style of the Twilight Princess HD tech demo would do well to back that up.

However I was saying that just because it was in a Tech Demo doesn't mean it will become a fully fledged game, which is what Spanone was suggesting in his post.
