Default Homestuck General
Since we have some MS Paint Adventure fans here, I figured we might as well make a general topic.
It'll help kill time until the end of Act 5.

For those who don't know what Homestuck is, it's the timeless story of a child who gave birth to his best friends and plays videogames with bisexual aliens.
Being the most experimental comic on the internet, it's written in a CYOA format, has multiple flash animations for the major events and contains some playable sections that are similar to Earthbound. The webcomic is going on its third year and has recently surpassed 4000 pages.

I'm going to have to reread the whole thing while waiting for the next update. I read it all in one go a couple months ago, but it seems like there's always some new subplot that gets brought up that I don't remember at all. Then again, that makes repeated readings even better in my opinion- being able to notice new things every time.

So I was going to reread Homestuck, and I DID reread 1-4, but I got to Act 5 and I just couldn't reread it.

Hivebent is good on the first run, but it's just so boring on rereads that I couldn't possibly reread it.

And then there's Act 5.2...

So yeah, I kind of reread it, kind of didn't.

So im on Act 4, and this comic is so addicting.

I recommend it to EVERYONE on this lovely forum.

If you read it, be warned that things won't really pick up until Act 2.

If you still don't like it at the end of Act 2, you should stop.

It's not for everyone.

A wise mod once gave me that advice.

They found the twitter account of Hussie's girlfriend and harassed her like crazy because she "takes his time away from the comic."
It's gotten really serious and it's kind of pathetic.

MSPA likes to keep the 4chan side of the fanbase separate from the rest of the fanbase.

Hivebent was probably my least favorite part of the story.

The trolls are amazing later on and once you know them all Hivebent moves a lot faster.
It's just the process of introducing all of them that's grating.

I actually really liked Hivebent the first time I read it. It was my favorite part of the story before 5.2.

And then I tried to reread Homestuck, but Hivebent stopped me dead in my tracks and I just... can't... get through it.

Once you get to troll romance it speeds up, thankfully.
Pesterlogs are mostly dropped for really short pages, and things happen.

So I think I've got this whole thing figured out.

The Duttle created the universe, but is angered that there are other entities in it, so it summons Johnny-5 to assassinate everyone with meteors.

The only real problem with Hivebent is that it take a long time to set up twelve new characters, and readers are probably more interested in what's going to happen with the kids at that point. And they don't reappear until Act 5 Act 2, so someone who can't just relax and enjoy the story is going to get pretty frustrated.

Maybe I feel differently because the reason I started reading Homestuck in the first place was for the trolls. Vriska, actually. So I was actually pretty excited to get to and then read Hivebent.

Once Hivebent ends it's character setup and better explains troll culture it gets better.
The last third is actually enjoyable. The first two kind of drag.

It wouldn't be a problem if Hussie didn't give himself TWELVE characters.

In other news, the flash is apparently 35% done.
Considering he hadn't received the music for it 14 days ago and finally has the balls to announce his progress, we might have hope for the project being finished by the end of the month.

My plans for tomorrow involve alt-tabbing between Battlefield 3 and my web browser until that flash goes up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but before this, the longest waits between updates were about a week, right?

Gamzee is one of my favorites, but I also love Terezi because she is my patron troll and she is just so awesome. I love Karkat because of all the mistakes he has made. I guess I feel for him. Like, he assumed that he was literally a God to the kids, their superior - only to realize that he was actually responsible for the failure and death of their entire universe.

I still like Tavros the best, and I have no reasoning behind it. He's just awesome. Karkat is cool too, and I do like Vriska, but the fact that she's a fairy is kinda weird.

I'm really liking Act 6 (is there a name for it?) so far. Each of the new kids are really interesting and it's fun returning to the carelessness that was Act 1. UU seems like a cool enough guy/girl/horrific abomination.

And I like all the Problem Sleuth references too!

That flash was amazing I think End of Chapter 4 is still my favorite (Cascade shouldn't be considered in the running XD ) I need Time on My Side on my iPod, it's so amazing.
