Default Make an Album!

Here are the steps:

1) Go to Wikipedia Main Page and click "Random Article" on the left. The title of the article will be the name of your band.

2) Go to http://quotationspage.com/, click "random quotes," and pick the last 3-7 words of the last quote on the page. This is the title of your album.

3) Go here. The third picture will be your album cover.

4) Use a photo editor to put it all together! (GIMP, Photoshop, pixlr.com, picnik.com)

***If you get something that is against forum rules, repeat the step***

Here is my first attempt:

Chihuo - A Worthy Purpose

I actually like it quite a lot! "Chihuo", the name of the band (yes, I made a mistake when transcriving the title, shame on me, I don't know how that happened) is apparently a kind of moth.

edit:
I made another one. It turned out a bit weirder than the other one though, but the girl was pretty beautiful!

This is fun.

I cropped the picture to make it more square. I hope that is okay.

Also, you can use imgur.com to upload photos from your computer without having to sign up or register for anything.

When I got the band name I didn't think this was going to end well... but I like how it turned out.

I got another Japanese title.

This time it looks like a Japanese Country/Western band.

Lots of nice work in this thread! Good job everyone! For an extra twist, feel free to tell us the album's genre.

Quarterdeck Office System, they're a hipster folk indie rock band who is a little too into the irony thing... but at least they're upbeat.

Genre- Modern Day, 80s-style, Adult Contemporary.

This is what happens when a French movie, Greek philosopher, and Canadian syrup get mixed together.

The sophomore album from the obscure 70s psychedelic rock band Cyrano. You know they could have made it big, but sadly the label backing this band went bankrupt shortly after release and the Cyrano's front man Michael J vanDijk overdosed on mescalin before the band ever had a chance to make another.

Maple Town is a Christian Rock all-girl band for Wisconsin.

(Excuse the crappiness. I really did not know what to do with this one. The length of the one girl's toenails creeped me out, and I had to pull colors from her pinky toe. Eww.)

First one! It isn't that good, but I am pleased overall.

The genre is country.

A concept album from the guitarist of Steel Dam exploring a mix of North American Southern Rock with the sounds of the South American town his father came from.

Rinako Hirosawa's solo project also works the indie rock genre, but places more emphasis on mood based vocals and melodies.

How am I even supposed to work with an image like this?

Anyway, this is Roy Olmstead's debut album for his solo career released in the early 60's. Unfortunately, the record didn't sell too well despite its innovative concepts and well-crafted songs.

Why is this so addicting? , anyway this was made by the emo-rock band Sverre Fredheim. Sold 100,000 copies in the first week of sales, proving the genre can still sell if done correctly.

I'm kinda indifferent about this one. I don't hate it, but there's nothing really special about it. Oh well. I kinda like the name of the band, but it would've been better with another picture...

HyperNEAT - "It is Safe to be Unpopular"

To be honest, I love the band name I got from wikipedia! The album title is pretty good too, and so is the picture!
I could've done a better job at editing it all together, but I only had Paint to work with

edit: n'other one!

"Enthusiasm" by List of Palatine Locomotives and Railbuses

It's a pretty weird name for a band

I'm glad to see this thread alive, because I just dug up this gem from Western European jam band Kaszuby. Worth a listen.

We should start posting real Indie albums and see if people can guess which are real and which are ones generated in the thread.

I think a lot of these would be interesting to hear songs from, also this should be an album...
"A Plate of Nasi Goreng and Some Ayam Goreng"
Too bad I don't have a halfway decent image editing program...

For the record, that album I posted does exist, but Pheonix Down is used to revive.. as I did with this thread...
Logi made me do it... :P
