Ever wanted to star in your own game? THIS is your chance! I'm workin' on a new free downloadable, EPISODIC game under it's brand new name:

Story:
EPISODE I:
You wake up one day wondering where the heck you are. You see some strange people, getting dragged away by dark hands! Another person runs up to you, saying he is a supah secret agent! He says he pulled you in here into the site 3DS forums to save it from an evil shadow clan who are kidnapping the moderators! You must now band together with other members to destroy these mysterious forces, and get the moderators back, with an evil member named "barkis" is the only thing that can stand in your way.


Development:
Development has started on 9/16/11, With Version 1.0 Chapter 1 and 2. The game was then changed to an episodic release on 11/18/11, with episode I half in development.

The Game is being made with gamemaker, Microsoft paint and GIMP, with episode I done by spring.

Gameplay:
This game has no gameplay like ever before. The entire game is played through with side scrolling. On every chapther new gameplay is added. From shooting, to platforming, fighting, to flying and yesh, even puzzle.

Characters:


You: You are the hero. Your mission is to save the moderators before they can be destroyed.

The moderators: The mods are Baroque, David, SRT, Panini, Kinvara, Bon bon, Logitech, Foobrew, Rollo and Kurtiss. They have all been captured by an evil force, and it's your job to save them.

The mysterious evil force: These creatures have captured the mods, to destroy them and rule 3DS forums.

Members: Members are the stars in this game. They help you out, take you on quests, give you powers, Members can do literally, ANYTHING.

Great question, the game is actually multi-genre, each level shows new gameplay. example: Chapter 1 is a side srolling level, while chapter 2 in a RPG/Side scroller. Like cave story, you awake not knowing who you are or what happened. All you know was that you were typing off on 3DSforums and the next second, your inside the website itself. Has anyone read the original post or what??

Now I'm all curious n' stuff. What would the enemies be like? What would the worlds be like?

To put this in a nutshell..

You awake having no memory of who you are or where you are... All you remember is typing on 3DS forums, then getting sucked into your PC. A member (Example: darkk) comes up to you and tells you why and where you are here. A band of gangster style shadow creatures kidnapped the moderators: Panini, kurtiss, baroque, david and SRT. so they can destroy them and become rulers of 3DS forums. Now, you have to travel outside of the computer and into the real world, to get the moderators back before they can be destroyed. On the way, you must help members (and yes, maybe even ponies.) to level up and defeat the massive final boss.

The enemies will be the enemies from mario, zelda, metroid kirby, and other series, While some bosses are presented as some of the most famous banned members on 3DS forums Bosses are mostly hypnotized nintendo charecters, but other than that. there is the shadow forces, your pets (Giant boss kitteh!) And giant robots.

The worlds are known as chapters, while each chapter has 5-10 levels. Chapter 1 takes place on 3DS forums, while chapter 2 takes place on your desk. why your desk? Imagine jumpin on 3ds games and surfing down your bed with the legend of zelda Oot case??

Oh, this seems to be turning out great and I'd love to be in it somehow!

The game programming is being made in gamemaker. while drawings are being made with Microsoft paint, and GIMP. I am still looking for a program for the animations.

Also, an idea possibly is for a tutorials. It could be a level that is called "Questions and Answers Section"

A Q&A section will be on the blog, so is a walkthrough.
In the game, the member Dan will be giving tips and tutorials on certain levels, similar to the legend of zelda OOT 3D's Secret videos.

Well, number 1, the graphics are presented to be more cartoonish, while some worlds backgrounds are photo's of the real world. Items are the same too. and number 2, this is more of a side scroller than a first-person shoot em' up.

Torterra: Of course, his real name is unknown, but he gets his nickname from his one pokemon he has, Torterra. It's a great battler and has been used mnay times for threats. His intents are unknown. "Quote:" I want to just take over control.

I just noticed this thread and it sounds really interesting. I've done a lot of things with game maker, so I know it can be a bit stressful when making a game. Especially when the game is going to be HUGE and have its own website and all! I've been thinking of writing my character's profile since a while, but now I'm doing it.

Mister Epic

Real name: MREPC0001
Birth place: Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Age: 2 years
Species: Robot
Firearm: The MREPCFA0001. It looks like a Super Scope, and it shoots short laser bursts.
Physical appearance: Wears a Robocop-like helmet and has a Terminator-like jaw. The rest is pretty much a generic humanoid robot body. Its got a jetpack on its back, so it can fly.
Bio: Crime was rising in a rapid rate in the city of Montreal. Bertrand Industries, a robot-making company, was hired by the government to create a crime-fighting robot. As a result, they made the MREPC0001, and they gave it the simpler nickname that is "Mister Epic". It fought crime for months in Montreal in a really effective rate, using its MREPCFA0001 canon and its jetpack. Crime rate was lowering thanks to this. The Police is having a great support unit.

Also, it listens to UK Hardcore, because some random dude wanted it during Mister Epic's creation.

Please, there are much easier ways than trying to find a youtube-mp3 converter (most of them are infested with viruses! Finding a 'clean' one requires a link.)
For one, Audacity. Unplug your microphone, go through some Windows settings, and bam, you can record anything off any youtube video.


I think I could help you with gathering mp3 tracks "legally." From Youtube or other places. I have my various mp3-based downloading ways across the interwebs. (For one, Audacity)

And maybe if you get stuck on a part in the story, I'm always ready to throw in something random. (BTW, gameplay needs more ponies. Half the people on this forum use and/or are obsessed with ponies, it's only fitting)

I have thought a while about adding ponies, the ponies are optional (They are hidden in the levels, you must find them first. if you help them they will give you a element of harmony. Get all of them and you recieve a special Chapter, Equastria/Ponyville) Sure you can be a charecter. Just PM me what you want your charecter to look like (Shirt, hair, color, type, ETC)

Ok, now that your inbox was emptied, I sent you the instructions. Sorry about how annoying it is to set up your computer to do this, but it beats downloading a youtube-mp3 converter anyday. Especially considering they either don't work or are viruses.

Really depends what kind of title you're going for.

If you want something for the lulz, look up "pony 8-bit" and pick your favorite pony song (don't lie, you know you love the show.) :P

Also, I've thought of some ideas for an official title for your game, as I know that Project Moderator is the codename.

First, since it's the 3DS Forums' official game, the simple way to call this game would be "Nintendo 3DS Forums: The Game" But that would probably be too simple. So I thought I could put a subtitle in this, something like "Nintendo 3DS Forums: Moderators in Captivity"

Unless you want to keep this "Project Moderator" as the official title.

Yeah, so do I. I even made a character profile.

Character:
Nintendo 3DS


Story:

When the mods and admins were captured, 3DS was informed by the NPAHFHQ (Nation Ponies and Hand-Held Forum Head Quarters) about the crime. 3DS grabed his gear and headed of to where it happened. In the proccess, 3DS met Rainbow Dash. As they got to know each other, 3DS told Rainbow dash whats going on. Rainbow dash insisted to help, so 3DS accepted. As of then, Rainbow Dash was 3DS's trusty Steed.

Gameplay:

3DS can throw hadoukens to kill the enemys. Not only that, but 3DS has a Super Meter. When it is filled up, you can use it to go into hyper mode. Hyper mode makes 3DS's hadoukens bigger, jump higher and even make him invincible! Although, this only last 10 seconds. If you press W, you can call rainbow dash, but only in special places. It is possible to call her somewhere else, but if touched by an enemy, she'll run away, leaving you on your own. Tuff Pony, eh?

How to obtain Nintendo 3DS:

1.) Beat the game

2.) DLC/Expansion Pack/Update

Note: How to obtain him is up to ABCDude.
