Imagine if they could integrate the gyro of the gamepad as being the equivelant to the wiimote. You could play prime trilogy, and move around with one of the controls sticks, buy then aim around with gyro scope.

I am sorry I doubted you Nintendo. I thought that Super Mario 3D World would be ****ty because that's more or less the first impression most of us got out of that stupid E3 trailer...
But wow... I mean... ****... they really pimped this game. It looks gorgeous, just like it should, there are some new gameplay elements and interesting stages, something that wasmmn't shown during E3. Now I am really hyped! I can't wait for the new WiiU lineup, I just got Rayman Legends, which is great, I preordered Wind Waker HD and I am planning on buying The Wonderful 101 next week. And there are so many games I am looking forward to... Smash Bros, X, Mario Kart 8, the new Zelda title, Bayonetta 2 (**** Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze)... I'm gonna go broke...

The new trailer of Super Mario 3D World makes it look amazing. My most hyped game this year other than Pok?mon X/Y. It is quite sad to see Donkey Kong pushed back, but it is probably for the best. We all saw the amount of polish Pikmin 3 got for being delayed.
The new eShop music is quite good. I like the match game while it loads, but I haven't won yet. I was hoping for some more features to be added, but at least it seems like Nintendo will be having a universal account in the future.

I didn't really like any of the demos I've tried so far including 101, but given the limited selection that's not super surprising. I was really hoping to at least get the demos that are on the kiosks at the store.
Anyway I'm about 12 hours into Z:WW HD and it's awesome so far. I hated the art style back in GameCube days but in HD it feels and looks right.

I would recommend a screen protector, but you won't really need one unless you play/use a lot of games/apps that do not give you the option to control them with the Pad's buttons.

I think Wii U will certainly sell far better than usual this holiday with 3D World.
Even then, I'd say 2014 will be the true comeback year of Nintendo's HD console. Big exclusives like SSB, MK8, DKC: TF, X, Bayo2, etc. will surely bring up sales. I'd say PS3 and 360 will be the PS4's and XBO's biggest competition this holiday. Holiday 2014 will be the true next gen battle. |

Just in case any of you have issues setting up your Wii U controller to control the TV not all codes match the brand. For example I have a WestingHouse TV and I used a Samsung remote frequency. A quick google search of your TV model might help you find out which remote codes to use.

Just called to get my GamePad sent in for a problem I detailed back in December last year. I have a minor case of telephone phobia, so I kinda waited until the last minute. Oh well, I will have it back by Christmas for when I get the holiday Nintendo titles. At least I can still use my WiiMote for stuff like CoD and Wii Sports Club.

I'm making a list of exclusives I'd want if I would get a Wii U. So far I have this:
LoZ WindWaker HD LoZ U Super Mario 3D World Mario Kart 8 Lego City Undercover Zombi U Pikmin 3 Anyone got a recommendation for another title that should be on this list? ETA: I just found a couple of Dutch sites selling the Wii U Premium Pack for only €229,- instead of the regular €300,-. That's quite a difference. My mind is basically made up, I want a Wii U. But, I don't think I'm going to wait a year like I was originally planning before I buy a next gen console. I'm thinking more like half a year if not sooner.

I think one problem with the Wii U that isn't discussed much is well..the userbase.
I'm a Wii U owner and I don't do this, but it seems that Wii U owners whine about no games but with the games that are out/coming to the system, barely anyone buys them. And I'm not just talking about third party either because as far as I know The Wonderful 101 and Game & Wario have bombed. Of all the Wii U games released, only 2 of them(Nintendo Land and NSMB U) have sold over a million copies. The rest sold less than 700K. Buy games or don't complain. |

Has anyone ever had this problem
- I updated my Wii U and went to go to the eshop, but it says that my wifi is not connected. I went check if anything was entered it incorrectly, and it wasn't. To be safe I deleted my connection and reentered everything. It still says it is not connected. It is not my actual wifi as I can get on with all my other devices. Does anyone know how to fix this (keep in mind all the things when I google searched my error did not solve the problem).

soooooooooo.... Nothing new for the WiiU...
Aside from Hyrule Warriors has there been anything worth mentioning since the E3? I wanna know that there are more games coming up. The announced titles were really good but we only have 3-4 major titles for 2014 and nothing for later. The other 2 consoles also started with a lack of titles but their lineup seems promising with new games being announced every now and then. What do we know about the future of WiiU? That Miyamoto is working on a new IP and that there will be a massive Zelda game in 2015... That's all. Games like X and Bayonetta2 which are gonna attract other types of fans except of dedicated Nintendo (Mario and Zelda) lovers have gained no spotlight after the E3. Instead we are being bombarded with news about Smash bros, DK Tropical Freeze and Mario Kart 8, which we already know what they will be like.

Well, I expect, since Super Smash Bros Melee was the best selling game on the Gamecube, I am going to guess that it might be the best selling game on the Wii U as well...
Unfortunately, neither Mario Kart nor Smash Bros really does it for me. Hyrule Warriors sounds cool, but I am not paying $60 for it. The Wii U really needs some games OTHER than the status quo. "I" could really use a new 3D Metroid! |

Mario kart 8 and Smash Bros may do the trick but I don't know if they are enough...
I believe that Nintendo will try all their mainstream titles for the WiiU in order to save it, as creating new, original IPs (Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, Eternal Darkness) and remaking old forgotten ones (Metroid) didn't save the Gamecube nor can save the WiiU.

Yeah, I said, it didn't save it. I believe a Metroid game will fail on the WiiU. So will every other Nintendo franchise aside from the biggest ones. With such a small install base it is unlikely that smaller franchises can sell more than 200k-300k pieces...

I hope that SMT vs. Fire Emblem games turns out to be great. Hopefully it comes out in 2014. I also hope Project Cars turns out great on the Wii U. If so, I might get a Wii U this year.

I think either (Yarn Yoshi and/or SMT vs. FE) still has a chance of coming out this year. Just b/c we have not heard much about either does not mean the developers have not made much progress on either of them. I would say that a late 2014 release is not out of the question.
On the other hand, I guess I am just trying to maintain optimism about their releases as I hope Nintendo is able to get the Wii U back on track. Having these games come out (as opposed to being continuously delayed like DKC) this year would definitely make for a good 2014. ^^

Will they have a press conference or will they skip it like last year? I know for sure that they will abuse Smash Bros as it is their biggest hope for the WiiU to sell. So expect a ton of Smash Bros content as it will be almost ready by this year's E3. I'm just wondering what new will they bring up to the table. I certainly hope there are many announcements waiting for us and not only content of preannounced titles. At least we know that we will learn some stuff about the next Zelda installment.

Yeah, I saw it... It's probably a mistake. I cannot believe that Ubisoft that tries to support Nintendo that much will cancel a title that can deliver its best gameplay on the WiiU specifically for this system. They've talked so much about how the WiiU Gamepad enhances the WiiU experience and stuff. They won't cancel it.
If they do I will personally go kill them... Watchdogs is one of my most anticipated games of the year and one of the reasons I chose the WiiU so easily was because Watchdogs would be released in all consoles including the WiiU.

I don't think any of this is gonna make any change to how 3rd party developers percieve the WiiU. We probably won't see many of the multiplats on it but it might get some 3rd party exclusives like ZombiiU for example.
Regardless of that, the WiiU is definitely going to start selling more when a new Zelda, Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 are released. The release of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate could help as well, but it might not happen considering its sales against the 3DS version. Plus there's not much of a point since the 3DS one will be a full version, not dumbed down like it was with 3U. |

Dont forget, they also "are going to have an ACCOUNT based system instead of 'tied to the hardware'" as well.
Now they need to make like Sony, and introduce a "cross buy" system of their own. If I buy Super Mario Bros on Wii U, then I should not have to buy it again, to play it on the 3DS, and vice versa... |

I'd like to know what they mean when saying "non-wearable" and how that is a new category. It sounds really stupid to me. Basically in the QOL part they say "Oh look, everyone is tuning to smartphones and werable technology but no, we won't provide such services. We announce our own, non-existing term, of non-wearable technology".
I really want to see where this is going... |

It's nice to see the Wii U is getting what appears to be a good, non-kart, arcade racing game. Coupled with a promising sim racing title (Codemaster's Project Cars), it looks like the Wii U, unlike its predecessor, will not disappoint in terms of racing titles.

Watcdogs for the WiiU will be delayed. Dick move Ubisoft. I know that WiiU isn't doing that well but you are really killing it by releasing a game that will do fairly well on the console for every other console first and for the WiiU afterwards.

i finally bought a wii u. got the new super mario, luigi premium pack and zombi u and wind waker. Great games. i have a problem though. the wii u menu doesnt respond on tv but when switching to tablet controller it works fine. anyone know whats up?

Ok guys, hold your pants cause a new METROID game is coming!
Retro developers in an interview yesterday were saying that the WiiU is a powerhouse if used correctly and among others they mentioned that they have been working on another game for some months. Retro just finished developing DKC TF and is the developer behind the latest DK and Metroid titles. So I assume that now that they made a DK game they will start working on their other big franchise, Metroid. They have also mentioned in an interview that they will try to focus on Metroid after DKCTF. I am almost certain that we will hear of a new Metroid title in this year's E3...Yay!

It's not like it has to be Metroid just because they worked on that before. Nobody expected them to suddenly start on a Donkey Kong game before Returns. Who knows? They could now be set on making Starfox or F-Zero. Personally I'd be more happy to see a new F-Zero than another Metroid Prime.
