What do you think will happen on the Jan 19? I know that pricing, release date, preinstalled software and games will be announced, but what will the presentation/press conference be like?

I think that..

Reggie will say that his eyes are ready. Then, the $250 price tag is unveiled as gamers worldwide rejoice. An unsuspecting worldwide launch on Feb 26 is announced (No this is not true just a random guess), while everyone in the forums will bang their heads onto the wall and run three times around their neighbourhood.

Haha, this thread title makes it sound like Jan. 19th is the end of the world. I want a RE: Mercenaries trailer and it to be a launch title. Oh, and if they announce live voice chat for online games like Mario Kart and Resident Evil, I will cry from happiness.

Well, I'm thinking that The Mercenaries 3D will be a launch title. If it isn't I'll be picking up SSFIV:3DE instead of it with Kid Icarus: Uprising.

I would say since it is a Nintendo event. They are just going to let people play the 3ds to get a feel for it or they are going show the features more in-depth. Probably both.

Hopefully, however I can see Ninty going more in depth with some features (i.e 3DSWare/Shop). If Reggie doesn't discuss online, then I expect the online won't be a braggin' point for Nintendo meaning shattered dreams for some.

I am betting they will. But they would still have time to announce it. But I think that would be one of the things mentioned at a big event, because, hopefully, online includes several things.

I hope they actually show new footage of games Mario Kart, Paper Mario, and RE: Mercenaries. Looks like they're just going to keep re-using that same Metal Gear Solid demo.

Well don't start tying the noose around your necks just yet. Its still possible for a Mario game to be released with the 3DS. If you pay close attention, you'll notice that Super Monkey Ball isn't in the demo list, only in the video list. And Super Monkey Ball is confirmed to be a launch title. So just because its not playable doesn't mean its not gonna happen.

Well I also thought this, but why is it possible to play Revelations then ? You can't tell me that Mario Paper/Mario Kart are not as far in development as Revelations! I mean Revelations is only 20 (?) % ! Or am I wrong ?

I think since the press conferences are simultaneous, they will both run on a schedule so that everything is synchronized, but I'll give my prediction for the NOA conference.

Reggie walks out and gives a brief intro about what the 3DS is, and tells people they have to use it to understand how awesome it is. Then, people go down to the floor and play with the various demos for 1 1/2 hours, as some stations have games and others have trailers.

For the next half hour, Reggie and others discuss about what will come with the 3DS and its colors right after showing a couple of trailers.

Then, the last hour is Reggie & co. announcing the release date. After that, they announce the launch window games one by one, giving a description of each one, the pricing, and the precise release date of each one, as well as some gameplay footage. After that, he says: "So there you have it, the Nintendo 3DS, which will be in stores March 20th, and will cost $239.99", saving the price for last.

Obviously a price tag and release date, along with launch titles, but I also expect Nintendo to announce release dates for games like Skyward Sword and The Last Story for NA.

At E3, about 30 minutes after Nintendo's conference, we all (the media attendees on NoA's PR list) got an email announcing a ton of titles that weren't mentioned at all during their conference (games like Star Fox 64 3D, Pilot Wings Resort, etc.)

Considering that Nintendo won't be at CES we can assume that similar announcements will be made. They don't have another conference we know of until E3.

its not a conference and if you are a member of the press you should already know the itenearry a one hour presentation and 2 hours of free play time the invites all say 3DS press event and mention nothing about the wii it is most likely all about the 3ds if you pay any attention at all to the press releases that are already out.

Here's an example of a press release - Welcome to Nintendo of America's Media Site. So you're wrong there. Who has given a speech about their press release? That's pointless. Take E3 for example - each big company has a conference where they announce (mostly) new things that haven't been announced previously. Did we get a press release from Nintendo before their E3 conference telling us what's going to be there? Nope. There wasn't even a press release after their conference that went over everything they showed. The only one they sent out was about 3DS games they didn't show in their presentation.

Here's an example of a conference - YouTube - Nintendo E3 2004 Press Conference Part 1. None of those announcements were from press releases. Refer to the above portion for information about what a press release is.

Wrong again. Well, mostly. An event can be something like E3 or PAX, or in this case, the upcoming 3DS event or Nintendo World. It's part element of surprise, but Nintendo and other companies don't blow their load on a press release before a conference. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a point to their conference at all. We would already know everything they're announcing because they sent out a press release (see above), which nobody does.

The voice actors for video games. Well, I guess a lot of the games on the 3DS are series that are already out in America, so we already know who will voice act Snake or Mario or Sora or Riku or whatever. But any new series that we haven't seen any English gameplay of, I guess.
