Streetpass Quest is a much better name than Find Mii. Who knows what Nintendo of America was thinking with that one.

Looking like Mario tennis is the only new one then, not that i'm complaining, i've still got some of the others to finish and it's good to see regular updates.

So, I'm currently writing a new FAQ for this on Gamefaqs for those interested.
For those who want to help contribute, I need some information on the following crap:

Firstly, I need the sizes for the following puzzles:
Mario and Bowser, Kirby's Dream land, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Pilotwings Resort, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Mario Tennis Open (If anyone has that completed as of today, somehow)

Second, I need descriptions for any of the Pink Piece Puzzles Panels. I haven't been able to complete them yet, sadly.

And last, I need information on how to get the Silver Key in the Secret Quest. I've had so many varying reports that I don't know what one to trust.

I got the ShyGuy mask ♥ ♥ ♥

At first I thought it was a little awkward, what with its full face covering. I thought it should of just been a normal hat. But it's grown on me.

I liked the Pirate Hat and Triforce Hat too.

Haha i like wearing hats to suit themes. Like this weekend I went to The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses and I wore the Triforce hat.

But when i'm not trying to match any theme i usually wear the item block hat. But the Shy Guy hat is... interesting :P

I chop and change my hats but tend to wear the Donkey Kong one the most, i've only unlocked about half of them though. I need that ShyGuy hat/mask.

Hey, anyone else live in London?

Besides the new Mario Tennis panel, I have most of the other pink pieces from the other panels. The only other pinks I am missing are:

Donkey Kong - Top right corner
Beat the Beat - Bottom right corner
Mario Kart 7 - Missing five pinks
Super Mario 3D Land - Missing four pinks

My main priorities are getting the pinks for Beat the Beat and the bottom right corner panels for Mario Kart 7 and SM3D Land. The Donkey Kong pink is my least priority since where I live, lots of people that had multiple pinks from whom I streetpassed seemed to have gotten all the pinks for it already.

Plus I still have to get most of the damned hats from Find Mii 2.

I love playing the find MII game but it's annoying when you kill enemies in a room and don't get a item.

Or get a bunch of weak Miis. ><

I normally complete a new puzzle within a week, if not a day. I know collecting the puzzle pieces, but it seems that a new puzzle is so far between nowadays.

As for Find Mii, I officially got my last hat last night. After I clear this quest, I'm hanging up my Find Mii II boots for good. 100% complete! I hope a Find Mii III comes soon... or hopefully a whole new adventure!!

All I need are 8 of the remaining Pink Puzzle Pieces for Animal Crossing and I'm all caught up with the puzzle pieces.

The trick to getting all blue puzzle pieces on per panel is saving over 220+ Play Coins because you spend over 200 Play coins non-stop on average to get all the blue puzzle piece on a 40 piece puzzle panel.

Well, maybe not a trick, but a tip at the very least for those of the players who are having trouble completing the puzzle panels.

It blows my mind how people get all those puzzle pieces!! I have hardly any! and I've been carrying my DS with me almost every day to and from work in San Francisco (since March) and my mii plaza has.... like 25 ppl... jealous of all the ppl with completed puzzle pieces!!

And I am just finally on the Ghost boss of Find Mii (first run through) and that s.o.b is hard to beat! I wonder how many wimpy heroes I've used play coins to buy... so many... it just seems like such a daunting task at the rate I've been getting street passes :'(

You need to attend some fan conventions. Last year I went to Fanime and got over 150 streetpass on the first day of the con and beat Find Mii(3 times) to unlock Find Mii 2. I have atm 447/649 pieces for puzzle swap and I could finish all of the puzzles by this weekend.

I just completed every puzzle... and then my 3DS was stolen. Probably going to have to start over all over again.

yeah, ur right!! I have no one to go with lol I'm the only gamer in my circle of friends.... I'm sure I'll regret saying this but... lol the Hair stylists I've met (which most of my friends are) are not the most.... technologically savvy folk... so no gamers. lmao my friend wanted me to do her hair before a show and I said no because I had to go home and rep grind (back when MoP came out) and for like a week I got hazed b/c I play WoW.

Anyways I digress.... yeah I should just go to a con. friend or no friend... the streetpasses are worth it lols

I've got over 100 people in my plaza. Local passes, online play, and about 70-80 from Shadocon. I just finished Find Mii 1, time to do it all over again. I've only finished about four of the original launch puzzles.

Got that the other day, and I already have all the pink pieces. About 8 more pieces until I'm done.

Advantage of living in Japan.

Default Ok here is a cheaters method for all

Get 2 3DS'S one used and one new doesn't matter if its a xl or a regular 3ds use one as a transfer and one to receive then you can get more puzzles faster and solve the mii quests quicker but be farwarned because of the differences in the antenna in the 3ds models you might have to take a good walk before they will pick up each other.

this does work even better when carrying two of them at a time .

Or you can go somewhere crowded and street pass normally.

Post Mii Plaza Update (E.U/J.P) - New Puzzles, Hats, Outfits, Street Pass games etc!

A 3DS System Update is now available for all regions. 3DS users in Japan and Europe also receive a rather large update for Street Pass Mii Plaza. Here is the changelog:
  • Two kinds of games in a "bigger" Mii Plaza - ones you've already, plus ones to purchase!
  • We've now got a Shop, and Exchange Booth, a Check for Updates button and a new Play icon, along with a new second screen menu.
  • New games - Streetpass Squad, Streetpass Garden, Streetpass Battle, Streetpass Mansion.
  • New game selection section.
  • Games are bought with real money, as in eShop purchases.
  • Streetpass Squad is like Streetpass Quest. Takes place in space. Battle the Gold Bone Gang. Costs ?4.49.
  • Streetpass Garden. You move in to a house in Leafington and try to become a Master Gardener, under the tutelage of Mr Mendel. Grow flowers and decorate your garden. Costs ?4.49.
  • Streetpass Battle. Game of strategy and luck. Rule a remote country in a wartorn land. Your butler, Wentworth, helps you build an army via Streetpass to battle other generals. Ultimate goal to conquer the world! Costs ?4.49.
  • Streetpass Mansion. Spooky paranormal investigation. You're a detective trying to solve the mystery of a haunted house, helped by your assistant Ella Mentree. You work to uncover truth with the help of people you meet inside. Battle enemies to reach the top floor. Costs ?4.49.
  • Exchange booth is locked. Clicking on it doesn't do anything yet.
  • Heroines, Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Puzzles...possibly others.
  • New Hats such as Pixel Mario, also outfits!
Sadly...whenever I try to purchase a game, my system freezes and shuts down.
I have no idea how to address this problem. Some help would be much appreciated.

~P~

That's what the update was btw I'm from North America, not Japan and Europe.

There's also an ability to do save-data backups for certain software in the NA update.

Wait none of those features are in the NA update all we got was save-data backup option.

The official changelog:

Quote:
Version 6.0.0-11U available via wireless Internet connection includes the following improvements:

Save Data Backup Feature:
Users can now back up save data for downloadable versions of Nintendo 3DS software and most Virtual Console games

Improved system stability and usability:
Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience

The following, which were included within previous system updates, are not included with system menu versions 6.0.0-0U through 6.0.0-4U:

New features for the Nintendo 3DS Camera
Content for StreetPass Mii Plaza (StreetPass Squad, Garden, Battle and Mansion)
System Transfer between two Nintendo 3DS systems
The following, which were included within previous system updates, are not included with system menu versions 6.0.0-0U through 6.0.0-1U:

Addition of Internet Browser
Addition of Nintendo eShop
System Transfer from a Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL system
Are the camera features referring to this update?

Iwata better get those streetpass relay stations open. I want an excuse to take my 3DS everywhere (and I'd like my streetpass addiction, driven by my mild OCD when it comes to the puzzle pieces, to be satisfied). Can;t say I'm not disappointed that the new games aren't free. $5 is a good amount of money for what's on offer. I think I'll wait until I finish the Find Mii 2 Secret Quest another time or two. The new design is nice though.

Supposedly there is a New Super Luigi U puzzle as well.

Quick video of the update I found:

I remember that time where Nintendo used to give free stuff and not everything was about money, paid dlc, special swapnote papers exclusive to game buyers and now this

The current StreetPass games are sufficient enough, these are just extra for people who want them. Nintendo has done paid DLC well, it isn't needed to get the full value of the game. Do you expect them to give 80+ new levels for NSMBU for free? Why can't they ask money for that? You want it to be free or them not to release it? Why would you want Swapnote papers for a game you don't have?

Nintendo is still a baby in the digital department, they shouldn't start playing with big boys toys when there isn't even an account system for the 3ds

So you're saying that because they don't have an account system, they shouldn't have a digital store, DLC, extra content, and various other system features?

I'm in NA and haven't seen anything SpotPassed to me about a system update like the last time. Does this require a manual update?

well i have not played them extensively as im at work but will report tonight. The graphics are quite good in all of them however and the developer that made the games

The developers behind the new StreetPass Mii Plaza games may surprise you. Each was made by a developer with quite the pedigree, and most have significant experience working on Nintendo titles.

Here’s the full roundup:

StreetPass Garden – Grezzo (Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition)
StreetPass Mansion – Prope (Let’s Tap, Ivy the Kiwi?, Fishing Resort)
StreetPass Squad – Good-Feel (Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Wario Land: Shake It!)
StreetPass Battle – Spike Chunsoft (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward)

The crashing issues people are experiencing seem to be memory related. I'm sure those of you with EU systems have noticed how much smoother the plaza is now, and that lag time from loading Miis in the plaza, and puzzle swap panels is gone.

I also experience crashes when I scroll up too far in my plaza population. This leads me to believe that more Miis are being loaded into memory than before which is taking up a lot of resources, leaving too little available for the shop interface.

I'm looking to test this theory, so if those who have the update are willing to share their population size and whether the they experience crashes or not I'd appreciate it.

Just post it like so:

3000:Crashes
or
100:No Crashes

Again, I'd appreciate it if you could help out.

Well nevermind, seems I cracked it already. I erased about 100 Miis from my plaza and now everything is working. Targetting the Miis wearing hats seems to be the best option as it reduces the amount of models loaded into memory.

Dude. Just no. These 4 games are HOT. They are developed by premier Nintendo studios, and they are all top quality. I purchased all four of them just for the hell of it (I had money in my account, and thought, "Okay"), and I absolutely love them. The Shooting game is absolutely amazing!

Honestly, a couple of these games are better than a majority of eShop games. Don't judge these for their price. They are absolutely great games that are worth the asking price.

This is just a guess, but I would imagine it has something to do with NoA wanting to update the Streetpass feature for America. If that's the case, it would make a lot more sense for NoA to wait and update a Streetpass-heavy feature like this.

It is, however, an amazing update!!

Update the system as normal, then update Mii Plaza from within Mii Plaza, and purchase new games from within Mii Plaza.

Try the method I worked out on the previous page. Delete Miis wearing hats so that fewer models are in memory. After about 50-100 I was able to download all the new games with no problem.

You'll have to pass them again. It's up to you, you can either use this fix or you can wait for Nintendo to fix it themselves and release an update.

Almost 100. I kept on deleting the ones with hats until there were nothing but normal miis at the bottom. Then I was able to access the shop.

I went back a few times because it would run out of memory when the rabbit would try to do something new like play the sound effect just before you put your card details in. So if it crashes, go back and delete more miis with hats. Eventually you will get through.

Thanks, but I've already identified the cause of the crash. Too many hats eating up memory. I blame Valve.

It sounds cool, I think I take back what I said about the games because by the reviews they sound pretty good and the shooting one looks amazing, I would like more details of them tho cause in my plaza anything has changed

I think I've finished all of the launch puzzles besides Pikmin. Over the weekend at the Best Buy demo event, I made sure to get all the pink pieces I could get. I'm still on my second run of Find Mii. Ugh, those colored shields. I hate wasting 2 play coins for a wandering hero in dire hopes that they have the same color as the shield or a magic power that can damage an enemy.

I think they just changed "hat" to "outfit" because not all the "hats" were actually hats, like the 3DS hat which was more of a... life preserver?

I was going to delete all the level ones with hats, but I can't even select miis in the 6th row or further back before it crashes again... The only ones with hats in the first rows are the special miis fom E3, and I really don't want to delete them

You could send them to Mii Maker. If you really wanna keep them in the plaza though, I guess you'll just have to wait for an official fix.

@MarioKartFan25 Nope, one at a time. Sorry.

That's not really the problem. The crashes are caused by the sheer number of models hogging space in memory. Hence why my workaround only works if you target Miis wearing hats, to reduce the number of models loaded at once, freeing up space for the Find Mii rabbit to do its thing.

So NoA said they're looking into releasing the Streetpass Update for North America.

Nintendo “looking into” StreetPass Mii Plaza update for North America | Nintendo Everything

This might have something to do with the new Streetpass Relay Stations they've been planning since E3 this year.

Nintendo Setting Up Thousands Of StreetPass Relay Stations Across US And Europe - Nintendo Life

So either they're waiting for the relay stations, or trying to fix the bug that the Europe update had. Either way, I want the update now, Nintendo!

oh yeah, what happens when we complete a new minigame?
buy another? and do you think they will update them like they did with SPQ?

also about the hat and the coupons; do you have to buy one for the options to change? or do they change everyday or something?

...and so much to unlock as well. At first the Gardening game seems to be the one with the least to do but then you unlock the shopping center and all of it sudden, it opens up a lot more.

Here's a quick reviews about the games, and a list of the hats I have obtained thus far (All Japanese names and titles translated accordingly):

Streetpass Shooting: This is by far the best of the four games. It is a proper game. The people you Streetpass or buy with 2 or 3 coins assist you, a captain a part of some group called "Mii Force", as you go through numerous different shmup levels. Each person who joins your squad serves as a different gun or weapon (Black is bombs, Orange is laser, Red is fire, etc), and when you get hit, you lose one of your weapons. If you lose all of your weapons, it's game over and you can try again. The levels are fantastic, it's a real challenge at points, and as I said before, it feels like a proper video game, in the sense that you actually have to control, it progressively gets harder, and there are a lot of enemies and different bosses. 10/10 in my book.

Streetpass Garden: In my opinion, this is the least entertaining. The puzzle collector is more interesting than the Garden. Basically, your Streetpasses come to your garden entrance, water your plant, and then you take it in to either sell it, display it, or wait to have it watered again by the next group of Streetpass peoples. During the watering moments, you can also collect seeds from the Streetpassed people. It's really a drawn out and quite boring experience, honestly, but it's still something to do with Streetpasses, so whatever. 4/10.

Streetpass Battle: This is a really fun "Risk"-type game. The people you Streetpass bring you more soldiers to help you conquer more land and to build up your empire. You can choose three different styles from the beginning; a Japanese Feudal Empire, a European Hierarchy, or a Futuristic style. I'm playing as the Feudal Empire, and it's been a lot of fun! I've conquered 15 points, I'm currently Rank 5, and my army is about 25,000 right now. The fighting is very "Rock, Paper, Scissor" like. You balance the number of soldiers to horses (Rock), spears (Scissor), and bows (Paper), and then randomly choose which one you want to attack first against your opponents random choice. Best 2 out of 3 wins. It's a really great game. 8/10.

Streetpass Labyrinth: This is my 2nd favorite of the bunch. You are in a haunted house that serves as a labyrinth of sorts. At first, you can't see the floor you are currently on, but through Streetpasses, you receive puzzle pieces to lay down on the floor and it opens it up for you to walk to and explore. Combining same colors helps reveal secrets, treasures, and an orb that allows you to store items. You can also run into ghosts through this adventuring and fight them in a Chrono Trigger-style of combat. It's not turn-based, but you must wait for your gun batteries to charge between using them. Try to find the stairs to move to the next floor and complete accordingly. 9/10.

Current Hats: Link outfit (Hat and tunic), Zelda, Sheik, Chicken, Monkey, Shizue (From New Leaf), Strawberry, Pineapple, Wedding veil, Cowboy hat, Skull hat, Jack-o-lantern hat, Christmas hat, Panda, Bear, Lion, T-Rex, Moai, Super Mushroom, 1-Up Mushroom, Fire Flower, Super Star, 8-bit Mario, Mii Force Helmet, Flower Arrangement, Battle hat, and a Ghost hat.

There are still plenty more hats to unlock, so I'll keep it updated. I'll try to post pictures later.

Hi!

New here, looking for information on the new accomplishments, hats etc in StreetPass. I really like these new games, though you'll only find them good if you can get enough streetpass hits. Should get better when they get those relay stations sorted. I have some of the hats listed above, but am missing some because of the delay in being able to download the games for a couple of days. The haunted house game is called StreetPass Mansion in the EU. I know they're paid for, but I honestly think they're worth it. It takes me half an hour to an hour (depending on the puzzle boxes in StreetPass Mansion) every time to go through all the games so when you add that all up - twice a day, 30 mins (or more) for ...probably six months if not longer. No idea why this was not released worldwide or why it was not announced and showcased at E3 or in a Nintendo Direct. Seems really weird when this is an awesome update.

How far through have you gotten? Once you open up the shops and can customise your garden with decorations and expansions and take on jobs, it becomes a whole lot more interesting. I give it an 8/10, so far, but that could go up more if there is more to unlock!

Waaaaaaaaay past that, but it is still quite bland. Especially when you compare it to the other three games. Streetpass Shooting still has an option on the main menu that has yet to be unlocked, and it is loads of fun! Streetpass Battle and Streetpass Labyrinth are both great strategy games with tons and tons of content.

But Garden... it just feels like an Animal Crossing minigame of sorts. It's very slow paced. Unlocking things takes FOREVER. And honestly, it's just not exciting to me. Maybe that's my own problem, but seriously comparing all four games, the Garden one doesn't hold a candle to the other three.

Probably just $5. I bought all four games for ?1500 when they normally were ?500 each, so I got a 25% discount for buying all four. I think Europe was the same, so I'd imagine America will be too (Probably $5 each or $15 for all four).

Oh, if you're only getting one, check out my quick write-up about each game a couple pages ago. I personally recommend the Streetpass Shooting game (That's the Japanese name, so I don't know if it's different in other languages). It is a load of fun and has tons of content. It still depends on what you personally like, but the Shooting one is definitely the one I've enjoyed the most.

Dreadful photo of the Link Costume

You can just make out the belt and the tip of the hat. My mii is a white shirt,so it will be interesting if it behaves as a white or a green in this costume....

Got the bundle today (had to get an eshop card first)
Started with the Mansion. Looks fun! Next I will give the flowers a chance ( I loooove flowers!) Not too sure about the other two yet.
Hopefull to make great advance on every game on this year's Gamescom here in Cologne (and the main reason why I got the games. Got a bit dull only playing Quest)

Got a few new hats:

Donkey Kong set (Head and body), Diddy Kong hat, Barrel hat, Palm Tree Hat, Metaknight hat, Ice hockey mask (Old goalkeeper/Jason Voorhies style), a Spartan-looking helmet, and Captain Falcon's Pilot Helmet.

Currently using the Captain Falcon helmet. It looks awesome!!

Question for those with the new games; Does anyone know how to get the first gem on stage 5-1 of Streetpass Squad/Shooting? I've been trying for days and still can't figure it out.

Right there with you, my friend. Actually, if you know how to get the first one on 4-1 as well, I can't find it either.

I got the first one on 4-1 but I'll be damned if I remember how you get it. The gem on 5-1 is the last one I need to completely beat the game.

No. Just talking about the main "Report for duty." game. :x I'm saving arcade for later, and playing StreetPass Garden at the moment.

I got 10 Streetpasses yesterday and attempted Arcade on Normal last night... couldn't quite do it. It's not so easy, and all of the people on my leaderboard (All of the people I've Streetpassed that have the game) don't have an Arcade score much higher than mine.

I have a feeling the last few hats are going to be AWESOME. If these last few tickets from these games are that hard, it makes me wonder what Nintendo is saving for the last few hats.

Got my focus on the Garden and the Mansion right now, too. Really like those two, gotta see how much effort I put in the other two games. Guess I won't invest coins on them but only play those when I have hits

I finally found the first gem on 5-1! To get it you have to destroy the two uh... silver boner cruisers(?) before the spinning blades take them out.

Silver Boner Cruisers, really? ... and I thought 'Kappn' was
going to take the prize for poorly hidden sexual undertones
this week.

Heh, I was not expecting this.

I guess the villager finally got tired of all those extortionate loans, skinned him and turned him into a hat.

Hi guys,

My L button is broken and while it doesn't affect my play for the most part, it's affecting me in StreetPass Mansion. I can't block enemy attacks, which hasn't proved problematic to date, but the boss on the fifth floor is proving challenging with my current setup. I'm using that rusty gun (can't remember it's exact name) levelled up considerably, and it's doing nine damage per turn. Then the boss uses a special armour which reduces the damage to three per hit!

Any advice?

@robman If your 3ds is less than a year old, send it to Nintendo. You could also try blowing into the small gap on the left side of the button. It's caused by dust getting into that gap preventing the button from triggering.

Nintendo's website's support for DSi recommends turning off the power and gently rubbing the gap with a clean toothbrush. I've done this before but it only worked for about 30 minutes after, so it's easiesty just to send to Nintendo.

Can't wait for this update in N.A., if ever. Doesn't seem like a while yet, though.

I cannot express enough, my profound sadness that the US update is not out yet. Comic-con is next week and I was hoping to blitz everything with all the streetpasses I would get.

Nintendo, why you do this to our American brothers!?

Unfortunately, I've tried all home fixes, with no success. It's completely dead. I bought it back in 2011 so the warranty is long gone, too.

Why is NoA so incompetent? W101 late, Pikmin 3 late, Bravely Default late, and this hasn't even been announced! I thought it would go out when they got the new Streetpass relay system going (it should be out right? haven't heard anyone talk about it), but no...

Default Monster Manor

These games are fun, Especially Monster Manor, Any idea the max you can upgrade a weapon on it? (Upgrading the max level, if you do this, the weapon name will show for EX, Spirit Shooter +1 or Spirit Shooter +2 etc.)

why would I pay 5 bux for a mini-game for virtual hats? These should have been a dollar or, you know, free.

Why would we pay any money for games if they are not even real, they should be free

Because there is depth to them and you can get hours of entertainment over time. I hear Mii Force takes like 7 minutes each time you play it. If you go out 200 times a year and manage to get 1 StreetPass, 7 x 200 = 1400 minutes. That equals over 23 hours of gameplay.

It remains to be seen, but some of these new games may be an extraordinary pain in the rear at conventions, where Streetpasses fly fast and furious. There have been times in the past when I could barely get through puzzle swap and find mii and get back to the plaza before the queue hit 10. Ah well, it should be enough to keep us all busy for years to come, and at least it's not Find Mii 3.

I'm stuck on floor 5 in Mansion.Have completely filled all 5 floors, but can't defeat the boss. It won't give me access to an orb, and my only option with streetpasses is to take a piece, but then tells me I have no where to put it. No idea what to do!

---------------------
Thankfully a work mate solved it for me

No. They should not be free. They are top quality games made by top quality game-makers.

I don't even know what the crap you mean by "... if they are not even real." You don't "need" these games to continue using your 3DS. You still get your puzzle pieces just like you always have. These four games are all just extra incentive, and they add so much flavor to the already awesome Mii Plaza.

To be quite honest, I have spent more time playing these "not even real"-games than I have anything else in my 3DS library since the update hit Japan on June 17. Mii Shooting/Force is absolutely amazing! Just for that game alone, I would have paid $10.

So before you start with the negative approach, how about you actually play the games instead of just criticizing out of thin air?

It wasn't until I sat down and watched the trailer that I realized how in depth these games were.

They all look fun.

I think paying for these games actually is worthwile(sp?) because StreetPassing is something most 3DS users frequently use, so everytime we get a StreetPass we have extra games and prizes to get from it

There are pretty well made games, and you can use coins to 'invite' people you met before. So if you got some people in your Plaza and/or frequently meet some the games are worth it. They really out do the quests, in graphics and gameplay. Got the bundle and really don't regret it. Play one of the games almost every day!

Nintendo Starlets isn't the only new puzzle swap to be released. I've gotten pinks from that and Xenoblade Chronicles since the spot pass.

Added after 2 minutes:

No they shouldn't have. These games are pretty good content for the amount Nintendo is asking. They probably took thousands of man hours to create and develop.things cost money. Do you have any idea how much it probably costs to host the games online?

I agree. Or we could have just used Play Coins to get them. Not sure why they decided it was a good idea for us to pay real money for some stupid Mii games.

Do you have no economic acumen whatsoever? Nintendo is not going to give away something for free that cost them thousands of dollars to develop. Adding these games for free isn't going to move units. Buy the ones you want or all four. For 14 it is a ton of content. Do you have Fire Emblem? Buy Shin Megami and use part of the $30 Eshop credit you get back to purchase these.
Why do people think they deserve everything for free?

The new games are a lot of fun, even though there aren't that many people who live near me that also have a 3DS... and also use StreetPass as much as I do.

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what determines the number of troops that the CPU generals have in StreetPass Battle/Warrior's Way? I'm on the fourth kingdom, and the general has 24k+ troops. I was watching a "Let's Play" video and I saw that the player faced an army of 8,800 in the exact same kingdom!

Why is there such a huge difference in the sizes of the army we face?

The size of the enemy armies is proportionate to the size of yours.

could be decided by streepass history. I'm about to tackle army number 6 which is over 25000 strong while I'm sitting at just under 20,000. I streetpass a lot (disney aph) and can easily overcome that block after a few hits.

This is why I'm so confused! I'm facing an almost equal number in just the fourth kingdom and my army is only 10,000! I had almost 10,000 when I conquered kingdom three, but lost a couple of thousand with a castle upgrade.

I can't understand this at all, really.

Try beating a stronger force. Its no fun if the outcome is 100% predictable.

It does make sense as long as you aren't looking for equal amounts on both sides.

The game looks at the size of your army and generates the enemy armies using yours as the base number, adding or subtracting a percentage as necessary.

Help!

In StreetPass Squad 3 - 1 'Planet Mirthos' How do you obtain all the extra jewels trapped within the walls and free the hidden gem from inside the cage towards the end of the stage?

You'll need a level 3, light green pod which can retrieve buried items.

So three light green pods in the same three slot section, or one green pod with any two other colors behind?

Warrior's Way is kind of a pain, isn't it? There's a ticket for defeating an army twice your size, but you're probably going to lose several times (and 10% of your troops) attempting that so it's better to do it in the early levels when your army and your opponents are small. There's a ticket for defeating 10 visiting monarchs in a row, which means you need a large army as quickly as possible before other Warrior's Way players build theirs up.

And then there's this fortify castle thing. I was able to find out online that it costs you troops do to it, as well as the building materials that you've won, obviously, but I can't find out what actual benefit it's supposed to give you. Other than, of course, the three tickets connected to doing so. Does anybody here know?

I think fortifying your castle will allow you to hire more mercenaries for cheaper. Also, I street passed a guy who had an army of over 40,000 but only 60 people in his Plaza. Wtf?

It seems I was taking the term "fortify your castle" too literally. It's not for defense, the enemy armies never reach your castle walls, it's just a rank/leveling up system. Yes, mostly for buying more mercenaries for your value, but also a couple other things to spend play coins on, like "spying" on the enemy (I assume it lets you "cheat" and see what the enemy is going to play). There's also an option to let Wentworth divide your army for you, although I'm confused by it. At first I thought it just lets you spend a play coin on it in general, but then at one of the level-ups it said "now you can ask for help twice" so I don't know if that's twice globally and it doesn't regenerate, or what. Twice per entire 20-country campaign, perhaps?

In the end I quit out of a battle to the home screen so I could replay it after cutting my army size via castle building and get to the "defeat an army twice your size" goal. Quiting to the home screen, by the way, is an automatic loss and when you return to the game it dumps 10% of your troops. Overall I think play coins are the only way to play this game, most Streetpass armies are either going to be hardly big enough to matter, and the rest ("monarchs from afar") you have to fight to get them to join which again, is only a sure thing if they are too small to matter.

Second to Warrior's Way, Mii Force requires you to spend coins to fill out a small Streetpass group or you may as well not even bother. Flower Town and Haunted Mansion are completely impartial to whether you have small or large Streetpass groups, which is nice. Contrast to Find Mii, in which group size doesn't matter if you are using high ranking sword attacks, but when using buff and debuff magic, you do want as large a group as possible to be involved.

as excited as i was for these games, i don't find myself playing them too often. they take up a pretty big chunk of time to go through all four with your friends, plus Mii Force is an unforgiving monster.

I have been playing them religiously. I got Mii Force, Warrior's Way, and Flower Town licked, and am just a few weeks away from 100%ing Monster Mansion. Then I'll need some more new Streetpass games. Hohoho.

@Tekka: Sarah plays the other 3 and leaves StreetPass Squad to me. I've played it through once and am now completing each level again without anyone dying, collecting all the emeralds and besting the req. score. Have hit something of an impasse this week since I just can't find the missing emeralds on all 3 of the 1.5 star difficulty stages.

I had some problems with those stages initially, then I discovered that certain gems only appear when a pair of enemies are killed simultaneously. Like the boss of 3-1, or two of the parallel wheels on 3-3.

I'm really starting to enjoy StreetPass Garden now that the jobs and garden upgrades are becoming a feature. I've "discovered" a handy trick to get flowers to sprout with the minimum number of Miis required. Particularly useful for those who don't get many StreetPasses.

1. Hire 1 Mii.
2. Your Mii will bring the flower out to the courtyard, and water it (and it will grow the same as if a StreetPassed Mii watered it).
3. Allow the hired character to water it.
4. Repeat, meaning you effectively get two growth spurts (from you watering and the hired Mii) for the price of one.

This is only effective to the point that the flower blooms as watering your own plant after it has bloomed will not reap any seeds. I grew five new breeds yesterday with only 26 play coins using this method. Only disadvantage is you have to scroll through Mendel's verbose messages every time.

Also, does anyone know how to complete the accomplishment "garden with someone of the opposite gender"? I had a female plant pal call by yesterday and presumed that would net me the accomplishment, but to no avail.

You have to get the opposite gender mii to plant the seed with you.

When a mii of the opposite gender comes over and waters your plant, don't exit the game. Wait until after you go back to Mendal, then select the arrow. Go to courtyard. Talk to the mii (if you have several guests the mii might be in front of the shopping centre). There should be an option to plant a seed with the mii. If not, you need to pkay more to unlock it.

Just spent a couple days at Wizard World Chicago. Well, on Saturday I actually just sat in the lobby near the doors into the registration area. For Sunday I actually went and walked the dealer room. I spent overall less time there on Saturday and got more streetpasses out of it, and tended to have the queue already full at 10 when I finished playing all the games. I even started skipping Flower Town so I could get to the plaza gate faster. On Sunday I had to wait several times to get all the way to 10, which is good because it gave me more of a chance to actually walk around, but all of this does say interesting things about being mobile vs. stationary at a convention.

Mii Force
Except for the early levels, you pretty much want a full compliment of 10. Maybe a minimum of 5 just to attempt the levels. Certain areas become a bona fide bullet hell shooter, so you need maximum firepower to take stuff out quickly and not get hit. (You have to get through every level without taking a hit at least once.) (If you have to go with a small group, just replay 1-1, you still get a new title for replaying completed levels, and there is a ticket for collecting all of those.) Some of the weapons are low-range, which becomes the opposite of useful in certain situations, especially boss battles. Some of the weapons self-aim, which is generally very useful. Certain levels are much easier with certain weapons, for instance stone snakes are especially vulnerable to black bombs and ghosts are especially vulnerable to light green plasma whips. At a convention you take what colors you get, though if you don't have colors you need you just select a different level. Play coins function like Find Mii 2, you can select three old streetpasses to get specific colors and then you have to fill out the rest with random cats/dogs. The game itself doesn't seem overly long, so most folks should be able to wrap this up quickly, though finding all the gems might send a lot of us to walkthroughs. The levels are short but it's still pretty time consuming, so getting this game finished and out of the way sooner rather than later is best.

Flower Town
This is pretty frantic when starting out because the number of seeds you have grows exponentially and you want to keep them all because they all promise you a new breed, but you can only store sixteen. After you get further into things it should level out. Most of the breeds have multiple colors to grow, though I don't know if it gets you anything beyond the satisfaction of doing so (according to the ticket list, no). Supposedly if you are trying for a specific color you should plant the seed with someone wearing that color shirt. Play coins bring in old Streetpass Miis, but at random only, so it's no better than cats/dogs. It lets you fancy things up with different pots, larger gardens, and garden decorations, but other than the tickets for buying larger gardens I don't think there's any true gameplay benefit for doing so (again, according to the ticket list, no). Given how many breeds and color combinations there are, this one is for the long haul, although it seems that ticket completion will come long before true game total completion, which is unique to Flower Town. However, it doesn't take all that long to let a string of Miis through to water a plant, grab the best seeds, sell the plant, and start a new seed for the next group.

Warrior's Way
The fastest way to grow your army is to defeat "monarchs from afar" aka streetpasses from other people who are playing the game. The best way to defeat more monarchs is to have a large army. Yes, that's a catch 22, you can grow your army more easily the larger your army is to begin with, and the smaller your army is the more you are screwed. So it's an arms race against everybody else who is playing. I think I attacked more monarchs than I gave a friendly greeting to, but I also dumped almost 300 play coins into it prior to the convention to build my troops. I did see somebody with an army of 9,999,999, clearly the upper limit. No idea how they got there this soon. It's also interesting to see, among the non-monarchs (which are the majority still right now), just how small some of their plaza groups are. I swear there's a lot of people out there that just bought their 3DS in the past month, or else have never brought it to a convention or a streetpass meetup before. Store demo units are also mostly small in the plaza so are not of much benefit here. All extra play coins are going here first. You do have to make battle 300 times, win 50 of those, and 10 in a row, but also friendly greetings 100 times. Most of the time it's pretty clear cut, I only got a few that were evenly matched to me. There are two ways to approach this, shrink one of your armies to nothing so that the other two both grow to undefeatable, or failing that just burn some play coins to spy on their attack. Time-wise, this game goes quickly since you are just collecting troops and won't be spending time at a convention playing the main campaign.

Monster Manor
The pile of duplicate weapons I have is crazy. They are also mostly superfluous. The issue here is the weapons you actively use will get powered up, making you want to use them more as the ghosts get stronger. The other weapons remain weak and powering them up isn't worth the hassle of fighting with a weak weapon. On the one hand, you can switch to a weak weapon in the closing shots of a fight so that it gets the XP. On the other hand, as long as you have one strong weapon in each of the five categories, or just one strong weapon period, there's really no need for any of the others at all. Try not to actively use any guns that only have one battery. Blocking is crucial in battle but it takes a few fights to learn to watch for the tells.

You make chests by forming "rooms" of same colored squares. Specifically, one can appear any place that four same colored squares join together in one center point. The more center points you create with one drop, the better the chests. They start at wood, then go iron, bronze, silver, and gold. Access points to the interdimensional box can also appear, as well as Miis that give you gems and sometimes a puzzle box. (Puzzle boxes, by the way, are grand examples of trial and error. Finishing within the time limit for the better prize is luck, not skill.) So far I've never even seen a silver chest, much less a gold. The problem is that each chest type drops two plaza tickets. (For me, the bronze chests spat them out rather quickly, I think perhaps the rarer chests give the tickets priority.) The upshot is you pretty much have to set up a room with a single color area surrounding a piece-shaped gap, so that you can fill in the gap and create at least five, preferably more, center points. This will not happen by chance or random streetpassing, you will not see gold chests if you count on that. Also, play coins only give you random cats/dogs, no color selection. The only way to pull this off is to game the system using a store demo unit or a family member's 3DS if there happens to be one in your house. Conventions are overall more difficult here because most of the people will be first-time hits and will not give you a selection of pieces. Meetup groups will be better, but again a demo unit is the gold standard, especially if it's on the way home from work or something and you can hit it up every day.

This one is perhaps even more time consuming than Mii Force, I found myself pounding "send to back" to get to colors I wanted to and check out what pieces were available so I could plan things before laying anything down. However with 30 floors to go through this is more of a long haul game.

you kind of underestimate how awesome Flower Town is. I always save this for last because it is my favorite. Mii Force is kind of meh. i really get nowhere unless I have 4 or 5 people, which isn't hard anymore with the relay stations. I still haven't used play coins in warrior's Way, but i streetpassed someone who had only 60-ish streetpasses and over 90,000 warriors.

Is there a way to restart Monster Manor? I really wasn't paying enough attention to things early on and I've kind of screwed up to the point where I'm battling the level 5 boss and have very little chance to win. I'd love to be able to start again from scratch and not make so many brainless choices.

Try going to Plaza settings. Should be an option to give up in it in there...

But before that, have you tried charging your weapon by holding A? I had the same problem when I didn't know to do that...

I ran into the same problem with the level 10 boss, I was very outmatched. I browsed the gamefaqs boards a little to gather advice. The prevailing attitude is to pick one or two guns to keep on hand and ignore the rest. The justification for this is it takes a long time to level the guns up (not so much in the beginning, but it does later on) so you don't want to spread that thin across too many guns, and that the type weakness (green icon ghost is supposedly more vulnerable to the green icon guns, etc.) isn't as significant as it sounds, especially if your gun is a high level.

After some further thought, I realized much of my problem was guns with low number of batteries and low recharge speed. One of the threads had a weapon list that shows what battery and charge stats they each have (they are consistent for any given weapon) and I picked out two that I already had that had the best battery capacity and recharge speed. Then I burned a bunch of other duplicate guns into upgrading them a little more (my interdimensional box was close to full anyway). I put some healing potions into inventory instead of guns of the remaining color types. I went back to the boss, and though proper blocking is still the most important factor you can have, the better charge speed and battery capacity made a world of difference. I didn't even need the potions.

Though, I still wish I'd known about how to make gold chests when I was on the lower floors that were wide open spaces and not the convoluted shapes I'm seeing now. Unless things improve, I may need a second run through the game to finish my tickets. (BTW, the gamefaqs people say that when you finish and restart, you get to keep one gun only, so pouring all your XP into your one or two best weapons does make a lot of sense.) I may also at some point resort to simply not bringing people from live streetpasses into the game at all and rely on one local store demo unit exclusively. It may also help to take stairs as soon as you find them rather than what I've been doing, filling each floor in as much as I can before moving on. If you get lucky and find a staircase early you can designate that floor for use with one color only and use it to score gold chests while continuing upwards with all other color pieces.

- - -
Switching gears, I also read up on Warrior's Way, specifically the 20th country battle. It seems it's a different sort of battle, there's no splitting up your troops. What happens is, the emperor's army is set at 8 times the size yours is when you first get there, and then the battle involves 5 in a row RPS battles involving your entire army. The loser gets his army cut in half, and whoever has the most guys left after the 5 rounds wins. (An overall loss still only takes 10% of your guys, apparently.) It's entirely luck-based, but the odds in your favor grow as your army increases in size in relation of multiples of 2 or 1/2 the size of the Emperor's army.

I.e. If your army is over twice the size of his, you need fewer victories than if your army is between equal size and twice the size, and fewer there than if it's between half the size and equal, and fewer there than if it's between one quarter and one half. I actually did the math out, if you're between one half and equal you have roughly a 40% chance of overall victory, between equal and twice the size you have about a 60% chance. It's better still at twice the size and beyond but who has the patience for that, 60% is pretty good so I'm going to make a go at it when I get to equal size. I will roll a die to decide my course of action so I don't go nuts second guessing myself, it's random anyway so I may as well fight fire with fire.

Oh yeah, I forgot to report in that I finished collecting all the plaza tickets and all the hats last week. So I'm more or less done with these games.

I just have 14 more breeds to grow in Flower Town and Arcade Hard Mode in Mii Force to beat.

Daaaamn, you quick. That's a lot of streetpasses. Yeah, and play coins, but you didn't get there on play coins alone, not this quickly given a maximum reserve of 300 and 10 per day.

Nope. You can't reclaim tickets you've already won.

To get a level 3 weapon. You put the colour you want in the first slot, then two more of any colour behind it.

To get the fifth gem you need to destroy both bosses simultaneously.

You can do this with either a weapon on each end of your ship, or by letting them shoot each other with their blue fireballs.

A-I don't understand how to get the puzzle boxes in monster manor? I've had all the games since they came out and just learned of the puzzle boxes...I get streetpasses fairly regularly from people I know have the game and obviously set down their pieces, so I don't get it...

B-How do you get the edible plants in flower town? I've gotten some, but none of the ones that look like cakes or actual food. I've streetpassed my roommate that has them but nothing.

Help?

Thank you TheForce81 for the wiki though, that will definitely help. I'm just still a little confused?

A) I've gotten puzzle boxes in large rooms that I've created using the same color blocks. Sometimes you'll find a friend you've streetpassed and they'll give you gems and a puzzle box. It's pretty random.

B) I think the ones that look like cake are rare breeds. I've only just started getting the rarer types. (I've bred about 10 different species in all so far) You have to breed your plant with others in order to get them.

Hope that helps!

You need to have streetpassed at least two people to get Puzzle Boxes. After using the first Mii, completing a room with your second Mii will give a big chance of revealing the first Mii again, with the option to team up or play a puzzle box. Buying cats and dogs does not count.

I haven't been able to get any of the latest puzzles (my last one is Return to Dreamland).
I got a new XL at the end of this summer, around July-ish, and did a System Transfer from my 3DS but kept the 4GB SD card that was in the XL and just copied the files from the other SD card.
I'm still able to get SpotPass for things like Animal Crossing and Nintendo Video, though.
I've seen some things online about formatting the SD card, but… do any of you have any suggestions about this?

Edit: I found this: http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/625899-s...ers?qid=356772 and it surprisingly worked.
Nevermind, then!
