Smile Isnt it the best Mario Kart yet?

Mario Kart 7 is one of the best games for the 3ds, It is quite good using the console abilitys to its limits but, What we really expected of this game?
Many people who bougth Mario Kart 7 was because they played the ds version and they actually expected that it has the same characteristic but with improved graphics...
On Mario Kart 7 we can see many new features, but... What happened with the old features such as the versus mode, or the challenges we saw back on the ds version...
You know many new features such as passing streetpass ghost with people that passes on street but... What happens if you want to pass it normally to a friend that also have Mario Kart 7... they concentrate so much on the new features that they forgot the already good old features, we dont have to forget is a good innovatig game but really I miss some of the old innovations...

That's the problem with Happy Meal Nintendo fans: they're disappointed when thing are not exactly the same as last time...

This is very easily the best version for me, it easily beats Wii and the DS MK's.

Best in my opinion. Best online, best graphics, best tracks, and at least has a slightly better blue shell than any since 64. Oh yea, and no bikes.

never understood why people care so much about the characters since they don't really effect the game play. That being said I would have rather seen other characters besides wriggler and Queen bee

There should have been a few more, but that doesn't completely ruin the game. The only legit negative that is something new is the lack of vs mode, even though I really don't miss it.

Hmmm... its hard to say. Overall I still think the track design in wii was better (toad's factory was the first mushroom cup track ever that didn't bore me). But that game was way too hectic...

If this game had better new tracks, this would be the best one.

Pay more attention then. I give credits where they're due. I criticize where I see flaws.

Also: LOL at calling me a Sony fanboy. I very much dislike Sony as a company. They just happen to provide platforms that attract the best game developers at the moment.

best version yet for me, although I really miss the mission mode from the DS, I wonder why they did not include the VS mode and the Online is very nice but could have used a bit more customization.

I only prefer Mario Kart Wii because Boo is in it. I don't like Double Dash, so that doesn't count. Other than that, I do enjoy MK7 very much.

Mario Kart 7 is the best of the series (my opinion) and it's not similar to mario kart ds, it's similar to mario kart wii with a few new features.

I love the communities feature, makes racing easier, and the options are good too, is a great mix from different games elements (I love the battle donut from MK64), so a must have game and a killer one too for the 3DS

mario kart ds was good, but its problem was the online (lag, etc), cheaters (hacks, like in mario kart wii), small characters roster, and the snaking (if you can't do it to faster, you just loose the race), and other things that i won't post cuz i'm so lazy.

There are a ton of things this game could have done better and I think Nintendo have let themselves down. I think this game is solid but it's far from that "gem" I was hoping for.

I usually look at Mario Kart as a numbers thing. Check it:

We get the original eight starting characters like in every game. Then there's three from the SNES era (Shy Guy, Wiggler and Lakitu), three from the 64 era (Wario, Daisy and Metal Mario), then three from the Wii era (Rosalina, Honey Bee and Mii).

You also get tons of kart bodies, wheels and gliders; the tracks come in four per cup with four new cups and four retro cups. As well as like 14 old and new items to use, plus the improved online feature both locally and worldwide; its a pretty ridiculous amount of kickassness that we're getting from a game that was made in a split between two companies over two completely different locations in the world.

Yet we still complain because they removed the three characters that were in Mario Kart DS: Waluigi, Dry Bones and to a lesser degree, R.o.B. I mean okay Waluigi has been in most of the spinoff Mario titles but I'm sure him sitting this one out will not kill everyone. Dry Bones I am just puzzled over because he really doesn't matter in the first place...

No, I do see where people come from with that and honestly, I halfthought Petey Piranha would make a return from Double Dash since King Boo was in the Wii title; oh well, though. It's still an amazing game and one of the best and highest-selling 3DS games out there at the moment so I believe we should at least respect it, you know.

For local multiplayer, I think the wii version is better, as only one wii system is required.

Also, the wii version has more characters, and the bikes are more fun. Also, the ability to quick recover by shaking the wiimote when getting hit by a pow block, or hitting a banana peel is awesome.

But in every other sense, I think MK7 is the best MK game to date.

I am very conflicted on this subject. I think I still prefer Double Dash, as that game was awesome. DD had great karts, tracks, and local multiplayer. The characters were awesome (Petey Piranha!), two characters per kart was unique, and character specific items added an extra layer of strategy.

So, I guess 7 and DD are tied for me. Though, if DD had the new features of 7, it would be much better.

Little single player content after having alot more in DS and wii makes 7 the worst no I played and I did give it a good old shot but I just couldn't enjoy it.

MKDS will still be the best in my heart. Great single-player, great tracks, first one to have online...
Not to say MK7 isn't good, but I just don't think it's as influential as MK64 or DS despite its additions.

i coudln't stand mario kart DS because it hurt my hands so much lol. I really wanted to play but i physically wasn't able to! . Then upon trying out the DSIXL, everyone was snaking!!!

But MK7 is the most addictive game since smash bros brawl.

I loved the DS version, Balloon Battle was so addicting, it sucked in the Wii version though. And Double Dash was probably my favorite.

I would have to say the Wii version was my favorite. DD never really grabbed me. This is stupid, but what I miss from the N64 is turning into a Bob-omb after you lost your three balloons.

7 was pretty boring, it's at the bottom of the list, with Super Circuit and Super Mario Kart (fanboys, understand that just because it's the first of it's kind, doesn't mean it should be praised)

MKDS and MK64 are still best in my opinion. 7 sucked and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has a 3DS, unless they like Mario Kart (to which I would recommend the DS version)

No way. 7 wasn't even all that good.

Double Dash was where it's at. I hope they adapt the partner-system again with the upcoming Wii U MK.

7 is my least favorite in the series. Good ideas followed with terrible execution. Communities are flat out pointless, the gliding/underwater barely changed up the gameplay(and then look flat out pathetic compared to sega all stars racing), vehicle customization was meh, I couldn't simply pick which races I wanted to in single player and had to wade out the crappy ones in grand prix because of this, which is sad because there are some REALLY good tracks in this game.

Shame all they patched with this game were a few online cheats.

Ah, the communities. An idea that could have been so much more, but fell flat on it's face. Why can't we fully customize the items we want to have in them, for example? Why force us to either have them all or just have one type of item?

Also, the car customizing part. Why can't I save my creations so I can have the combinations that suit me best for the character and track? That would have made the feature a bit more relevant, since all I do now is choose the combination that was placed there, because I don't remember most of the customized cars I made (again, thanks to not being able to save the combinations)

Like you said, great ideas but horrible execution.

I'm gonna have to agree with everybody else and say that Double Dash was my favorite Mario Kart. I loved being able to use two different characters and, to be honest, the newer titles never felt as fun. For me, at least.

I enjoyed MK7 but I feel little incentive to pop it in and play again most of the time. I love the cart customization but there is too little to do.

the thread is from 2011, actually. Even then, as long as the topic can be discussed, there shouldn't a problem, right? It's not like it's a thread about someone assuming something from a game before it was released, we found out they were right/wrong and then someone revives it with a "lol yeah" 2 years later.

MK DS was the best one. I like 7 but the lack of VS mode sucks. I use to play that all the time on DS

MarioKart wii still my favorite, 7 is the least, but it's alot better than super or GBA

IMO a lot of people make Mario Kart 7 sound like it's way worse than it actually is. It's definitely not the best Mario Kart game out there, but it certainly isn't the worst.

It had the potential to be really amazing, maybe even the best in the series, but it was obviously rushed to get it out there ASAP. I really wish more effort was put into it and made it possible to have some downloadable content. Things like, a character pack, new kart parts pack, maybe even some new courses, battle courses and a single player mission mode pack would have been nice.

I liked the Rainbow road in this a lot. I think this game did feel quite rushed, but I liked it. Definitely not the best in the series though.

Mario Kart 7 felt too rushed. I think Mario Kart Wii was the best, since it had the best original tracks imo.

One of the biggest problems with 7 for me is that you can't save your kart combinations so you can select them whenever you want. That would have gave it a lot of points, since that's what I was expecting to be able to do since I saw the E3 trailer. Too bad you can't save any combination besides the last one you used, making the whole mechanic dull and limited.

Well I actually don't hate it, it takes about 5-10 seconds to choose my Kart combination and sometime while I'm choosing I like to vary

I really liked Mario Kart DS way more than this or Wii.
