I am. Woke up at 5am, took a 1.5 hour flight up north. Then a 9 hour flight. Then we had to get to the hotel. Then our technology didn't work. And in amongst this I ate two muffins and had two cups of hot chocolate. Not exactly food for an active mind. :P

Would have saved you tons of time and money probably, specially because the events are so close towards eachother.

I'm pretty sure you have to be invited to go to the New York/Amsterdam one, however the one in Japan is open for anyone to come.

plus the event in new york is further from austrailia than the one in japan gaty so yeah it is saving money to only go to the one in japan

Hey guys, first and foremost, really appreciate what you're doing today! Your venture into Makuhari Messe is really giving a great insight for what to expect, especially for those of us who can't make it out there.

That being said, I am heading into Chiba tomorrow to attend the conference directly (couldn't go today due to work). I'm getting some mixed messages sofar: video is prohibited, but are photos alright? I can't tell if you're being extremely covert because they think you're trying to capture video or if any photography, flat out, is disallowed. If you have a chance, could you tell me which it is? Thanks!

David said that there's no filming allowed. However, there's already YouTube videos from the conference and David did actually manage to get some gameplay footage. Pictures are allowed.

I went on to the stream like 4 hours before it even started. And I stayed and watched the whole thing (muted the annoying repeats). And I only got like 1 hour of sleep after it was over. It sucks that we still have no good translated information. Oh well, I can wait until January 19th, I guess.

Photos seemed to be alright. I live blogged the entire thing from my iPhone without any trouble and wasn't too sneaky about it. Video was near-impossible though. You have to be really crafty, but there's so many folks from Nintendo on the show floor that you'll quickly get told off.

is it just me or did anyone else feel like the coverage from day one was a bit underwhelming?
not being able to film stuffed it right up the jacksie. kid icarus looked cool but the presentations left me flat.Then that averagely average launch line up too. Lets hope day two will be better.

i just meant that if i miss something, i can rely on youtube to keep me up to date. hope there is someone to translate this show, because most of the gameplay videos are old news

It was a tough decision, but I figured it'd be more useful to finish the previews of everything I've already played rather than delay that writing and play the less interesting games (like Samurai Warriors Chronicle or Ridge Racer).

Cool stuff. For the record, if you're still going to be in Japan, definitely check out Akihabara (if you're staying near Makuhari Messe it's about 2 hours away). That district has every single game in existence :P

We're staying in Japan till March 2nd so we'll definitely head to Akihabara, but that'll be in February when we have an apartment in Tokyo.
