Question Game Recommendations (General Gaming Edition)

I think we definitely need a stickied thread for game recommendations other than 3DS games now.

Same rules apply:

Jim Sterling apparently gave it a perfect 10, so it must be good.

It's far from challenging, unless you are interested in beating the high scores and gather all the energy spheres or whatever they are called. I played it with my cousin and we got some great laughs. It's cosy.

Rayman Origins might be a better choice though...

Should I get Metroid Other M? I've been playing some games in the series lately and saw it was only like $10 dollars at Gamestop now,
so would any of you guys recommend it? Thanks

I've heard great things about Other M from Yuoke. It's his favorite Metroid game.

Default Pokemon Black/White or HeartGold/SoulSilver?

Hey guys! So Iv been wanting to pick up a new Pokemon game since I haven't bought a new one since FireRed. What are you opinions on these games and which one should I get? Silver was probably one of my favorite games, but Black is an entirely new adventure and I'd like to bring back that old feeling from Red. Iv actually played a little of Black, but it ran so slowly on my computer, I only got to the first town. Anyways, what do you guys think?

HG/SS will be fun to play I'm sure, but I think I might know the game a little too well since I beat Silver 5+ times back in the day.

I have played all of them. I highly recommend the series.

You should start with Professor Layton and the Curious Village (then play Diabolical Box , Unwound Future, and finally the Last Specter.)

Thanks!

Would you describe the dificulty of the puzzles in the game as Easy, Hard or Moderate?

Black and White all the way. I absolutely hated Heartgold, it was disgusting to play with.. the Pokemon were such low leveled pieces of trash, and my most disliked region in terms of gym leaders/pokemon. Really didn't enjoy it. Though you could totally enjoy it. Played most pokemon games, including the orginal Gold, and loved every single one of them.

Got around 40hrs on Heartgold, nearly at 400hrs on White.

It varies- certain puzzles were difficult for me but overall the puzzles will make you think but they aren't overly difficult.

I need a fun indie game (or any game) I can pick up on Steam for less than $10.

Any suggestions?

Well that's exactly it! I played Crystal over 20 times as a kid and HeartGold/SoulSilver completely blew me away. You will be very impressed with the nostalgia. Don't play Black or White until you've played one of them, they're the obvious choice and are way better.

Super Meat Boy and SpaceChem are both excellent indie games that are daily deals today for $3.74 and $2.74, respectively.

I would also suggest Cave Story+ for $6.69, Bastion for $10.04, Orcs Must Die for $7.49, or Terraria for $4.99.

The series is fantastic and addicting, with great storylines. They are challenging and fun, but I wouldn't say lengthy. Each game took me 10-12 hours.

I love the BIT. TRIP series, Cave Story, LIMBO, and Super Meat Boy. Steam is probably the ultimate indie platform.

Im kinda wanting a good old adventure game. I miss the days of PS2 where i could get to boss's that were hard. And i really enjoyed the game. I always enjoy a bit of fantasy chucked in also.

Also does anyone know a fun game's where you level up companions or something like pokemon?

I've played them all and i thin they're brill. As said before they aren't long but they are definately challenging, it'd be very hard to finish the story in one sitting!

If you want a massive adventure with plenty of side quests and weekly DLC, Dragon Quest IX is fantastic. I'd choose it over Skyrim any day.

inFamous 1 and 2 are pretty great. Little Big Planet 2 is good (I never played the original). I played a demo of Ratchet and Clank all 4 one and it was pretty interesting. Like someone else said the uncharted series. I haven't played those games, but I am going to play them eventually. Lollipop chainsaw looks cool, it's not exclusive to the PS3 though so I don't know if you would get it fo the PS3. Usually multi-platform games are better on the 360, I don't think it's been rated yet and I can't even guess what it would be rated either.

the cheapest i can find a PS3 is for $200 with a 250 GB hard drive, are there enough exclusives to be worth it? also, why in hell is the hard drive so big? does it install the entire game to the system? (by the way, i already have a 360)

EDIT: sorry, i forgot to thank Raney150 and mister epic for the reccomendations, so, uh...... thanks

Defintiely worth it. Hard drives on anything are big now, well except some 360 hard drives. I can't imagine why they would even offer a 4GB version. That doesn't allow you to download much.

I got an eShop Card and I have a few funds left and I just wanted to ask which is better to download. Dragon's Lair or Dragon's Lair 2 Time Warp? Also is that new Samurai Sword Destiny worth the money?

Don't know much about Dragon's Lair except it has Don Bluth's animation in it.

As for Samurai Sword Destiny, IGN gave it a 6/10 if I remember correctly. They said it was OK.

The Slim doesn't play PS2 game discs, while it still can play those for the PS1. Weird, huh? Well at least you can find PS1 and PS2 games on the PlayStation Store.

Plus, the Slim has only two USB ports. One of them has to be taken if you play with the PlayStation Move. They are used to charge your controller's battery, but you can buy a charging station for about 20 bucks, so you can charge two controllers without using an USB port. What's annoying is that the PS3 has to be turned on so the USB ports work. That's another reason to get the charging station.

Also, if you plan on buying the official Wireless Stereo Headset, it also takes another USB port.

The original model can only be found used nowadays. If you want a new PS3, you'll have the Slim, no matter what.

Not all fat PS3s can play PS2 games. Only the first ones, which are the 20 GB, 60 GB and some 80 GB's.

And you can just get the PS3 with games and controllers. That's all what you need.

Not this kind of recommendation. This thread is for asking other members about things such as What games should I get if (condition), Which game is the best between (some games) and I want to get this. Is it worth it?

a PS2 (one controller all cords and manual)
pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky (it was a gift so shut up)

When I was 14, I played Brain Age 1, and I always had a score of 20, which is the best score you can have, and higher is worse.

I think this is the kind of game you pick if you think your brain is slower and less functional than average. This is most likely the case if you're older. I wouldn't get this game, even at my current age of 19.

Brain Age 2 is the same game as Brain Age 1, but with different brain training exercices.

What's your opinion of Sonic Colors? I rented this game, didn't like it much, but have since become a Sonic fan. I want to give this game another go, but I don't want to rent. Should I buy it?

Hey everyone! I've been wondering, should I try Pokemon Black or Pokemon White? I'm not a big fan of RPG's, but the more I see of Pokemon, the more I want to try one. If I got either of the two, which would you recommend?

Shinobido 2 for PS Vita or Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D? Arguments for Shinobido 2: I don't want my Vita to sit there alone waiting for Gravity Rush after i'm done with Uncharted. Also, it looks pretty damn cool. On the other hand, MGS 3D is apparently not the piece of crap we thought it was. Also, it will help me get more use out of my future CPP and i've been itching to play it for a while. I can't decide. Help me, 3DSF. You're my only hope.

It's a 3DS forum, the obvious answer is Metal Gear Solid.

Neither.

Shinobido 2 is being panned by previews and MGS3D is a downgraded version of a game that you can get a superior version of, alongside 2 other games, for a similar price on consoles.

Metal Gear Solid Collection is gonna come out for Vita with TRANSFARRING

and if you want to buy a game that's been universally deemed unpolished and among the least fun Vita titles, your choice

I'm looking for any game playable on the 3DS that is multiplayer or has multiplayer features, such as Pushmo. I'm looking for a really good and fun game, nothing less. I'd also prefer if it was a 3DS game.

Well, there's Resident Evil: The Mercenaries and Revelations. Those both have multiplayer functions that're fairly good. I'm told Street Fighter IV 3D has good multiplayer if you're into fighters. Other than that, not much I can recommend.

Hoooooo buddy. You posted in the right place. The N64 happens to be one of my favorite, if not my most favorite system ever. Lemme give you a list.

Banjo Kazooie (Platformer)
Banjo Tooie (Platformer)
Donkey Kong 64 (Platformer)
Goldeneye 007 (FPS)
The World is Not Enough 007 (FPS)
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (Games 1 through 3 if you're into FPS)
Toy Story 2 (Trust me on this one. VERY fun platformer.)
Paper Mario (RPG)
Mario Tennis (Tennis derp)
You can't go wrong with just about any Star Wars game on the N64.
Diddy Kong Racing (Racing game...better than Mario Kart 64 in my opinion.)
Perfect Dark (FPS)

And that should be enough to last you for a long time. ^_^

Now, for my own problems...I have a PS3, and I'm slowly starting to get to the point where I'm gonna have to take a leap of face for some games.

My list of currently owned games:

Rayman Origins
ICO/Shadow of the Colossus
Portal 2
Uncharted 1/2
Batman: Arkham City
Little Big Planet 1/2
Sly Cooper Collection
3D Dot Game Heroes
inFAMOUS 1/2

Now, I am planning on getting Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 3, Katamari Forever, and Sly 4 when it comes.

Now, here's the thing. The MGS HD Collection I'm still unsure if I wanna get, as I've played through MGS 2/3 several times. Peace Walker is an incentive, but still isn't worth $40 to me...maybe when it's $20...and I have not much else to buy. MGS4 is a maybe as well, depends on what my parents say.

My requirements for game recommendations:

That they not be rated M. Nothing against M games, but I'll have a harder time convincing my parents to let me play them, and generally just a harder time playing them where the PS3 is. (Living room where everybody can hear it)

And that they don't swear a ton. Once again, I'm ok with swearing (although I do frown upon it and wouldn't swear myself) just don't like hearing it constantly.

No LEGO games. I have most if not all of them for the Wii. xP

Downloadable titles are fair game.

So...sorry for the long post, and help would be appreciated. ^_^

Looking into more Open-World RPGs, since I have the money and time to kill.
I've been told to get the Fallout Series, Gothic Series and Two Worlds 2, though I know little about them. I'm also not sure if there are any better options available, so I'd like some feedback on that.

And I already own Borderlands and Elder Scrolls.

Most satisfying RPG I've played since Deus Ex.

Does Dark Souls have a lot of exploration?
Because that's what I'm looking for.

Also, I don't buy new, full priced games like Dark Souls. I buy games I can find used or on sale for 20 dollars less.

Lightbulb Summer Video Games

Allow me to explain the purpose of this thread. Basically, I am completely obsessed with video games and summer, so naturally I am into video games with tropical areas. These past few summers I have been trying to find good video games suited for the summer and was lucky enough to get my hands on Super Mario Sunshine one summer and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker the next. What I want you to do is suggest any video game (besides the two I've mentioned) that are perfect for the summer.

Note: These games can only be for the Wii, GameCube, 3DS, or any downloadable games on those systems. If there are any really good tropical games that aren't for any of these systems that you have in mind, feel free to suggest them.

P.S. Yes, I am aware that summer is a ways away... I'm just super excited!

Ys: the Ark of napishtim(Ps2/PC ) all takes place in a tropical island (the world's literal equivalent of Cuba/Caribbean Islands Idk you the island is inside the Bermuda Triangle)

No More Heroes 1 & 2(Ps3/Wii) take place in a San Francisco/San Diego? (Santa Destroy) and mostly has a sunny summer feel to it

Rune Factory Tides/Frontier (wii) are very sunny games specially Tides as it takes place on an island

There's quite a bit of exploration in Dark Souls (even though combat is the main focus). You'll find hidden paths, new areas, items/armor/weapons, helpful NPCs, mini bosses, etc. if you just explore. But the world isn't open in the same way that Zelda is. It already dropped down to $40 on Amazon. It won't take much longer to get to the $20 tier (if its new, it's already sub-$20 used).

Need some dreamcast games, preferably common, and originally sold in north America, don't wanna buy over the internet if I can, the more variety the better, single or multiplayer, but preferably single player

My sis just got one of those $30 Wii/DSi/3DS points cards,
and she wants to know if she should get majora's mask for the Wii VC, or wait for a 3D Remake?

If you reply, just leave a VM on my page please

I saw a used Metroid: Other M for $8 at GameStop tonight. Now, I know the game is hailed as being bad, but is it not even worth $8? Would you recommend me to save my money or go for it.

Depends on what interests you most. If you're truly interested in the games themselves, the HD collection is the obvious choice. 3 games, and you can choose the system you want to play them on between PS3, 360 and Vita.

However, I know for some people the system is very important, like it is for me, and if you're more interested in playing a Metal Gear Solid game on your 3DS than playing three of them on something else, then trust your guts. For example, I wouldn't have bought Nascar Unleashed on my PS3, but I wanted a game like that on my 3DS so I bought the 3DS version even though it was at the same price and was inferior graphically.

It all depends on what you feel you'll enjoy most.

I'll list the pros and cons;

MGS HD:
- More games
- On Vita, 360 and PS3
- Better graphics

MGS 3D:
- 3D
- On the 3DS
- Obligatory CPP purchase if you aren't used to PW controls

I also agree with Yanikun.

Apparently the graphics in the finished game are better on the 3DS than the PS2 version, it's just not HD. Also, the framerate on the 3DS is 30fps and on the HD collection it's 60fps.

Is it still 30 fps in the final game?

Yeah, still, and in the end it sounds like the graphics aren't better than in the demo in the final game, but that should still be above PS2 (can't say, haven't played the game on PS2).

It depends...if you want 2 more games(or 4, if we want to get technical), go for the Collection.

However, and I say this as an owner of the HD Collection, MGS3D is FAR better then it's counterpart in the HD Collection. The controls/movements are of those like MGS4, which is much superior than the original MGS3 controls. The 3D is quite brilliant and really brings the varried environments to life. The graphics aren't any better then the PS2 version, mind you, but like Revelations before it, MGS3D will make a case for the 3D(which makes the actual game look better, as we all know by now)

Though I loved Peace Walker, as a gamer I have to say that MGS3 is probably the best game in the HD Collection, so the question shouldn't simply be, "MGS3D or HD Collection", but "Do I want to play the definitive version of an amazing game, or stick with the original version and get extra games on top?"

Since I would rather have the higher resolution on the beautiful screen (vita), I would choose the collection. If you buy 3D, and want to use dual sticks, you have to pay $20 more... so

MGS3D- pros- in 3d, new camo camera mode- second screen for items and such- less screen clutter
cons- lower resolution- extra money for dual stick support- only one game

MGSHD- pros- 3 games- much higher resolution- native dual stick support
- cons- not 3D- no second screen for items etc...

In closing, Id rather have 3 games, in beautiful 2D, rather than 1 game, in ugly 3D, and have to pay extra for dual stick control.

This is my opinion.

I didn't know it until yesterday either, but PW stands for Peace Walker, the PSP MGS game. It uses the face buttons to control, just like the demo without the CPP.

After much consideration, I've decided to get MGS3 for the 3DS once the price drops a bit.

I don't have access to my PS3 for a majority of the year due to college and it seems a good bit of effort was put into porting/remaking this for the 3DS.

HD Collection hands down, you get extra games in the series and get to play it the way it was made to be played, dual sticks.( yes I know about the Circle Pad Pro, but unless more games start using this feature not sure if it's worth it)
Saying that I will probably get both!

Kensei, let me give you a related piece of info.

If you want to start the Metal Gear Solid franchise from the very beginning, you can get the first Metal Gear Solid PS1 game either physically or online through the PlayStation Store. It will work with the PS3, but also on the PSP if you have purchased it through the Store. But don't expect any graphical improvements, as you get the same exact game than back then. You'll get the original PS1 graphics.

I'm saying that because the MGS HD Collection starts from Metal Gear Solid 2.

If you like platformers and/or Rayman, then Yes, no matter the platform, as the game is surely the same no matter what.

So, now that the B2G1 free deal on Vita games is go on Amazon, I'm going to get 3 more games. Thing is, Shinobido 2 might not be available as part of the deal. So, what game should I get as part of the deal? I'm already set on Rayman Origins for Vita and UMvC3 for Vita. And I already bought Uncharted. So, what game do you guys think I should get? Here is the page with all the games available for the deal so you can gimme suggestions: PS Vita: Buy 2, Get 1 Free

Ben10 Galactic Racing

I'd get Hot Shots Golf or Lumines: Electric Symphony.

Maybe Wipeout.

I skipped the DS, but just from what I watched of it I didn't see anything that was a huge must have concept to me. Again that's more of a problem with the taste of the games no appealing to me, but I'm only offering my POV.

I trying to go back and give some DS games a whirl... I already have Spirit Tracks ( which is kinda weird )... what good 3rd party games should I try out?

Although Final Fantasy's used to be some of my favorite games I don't think most JRPG's do it for me anymore. Especially the ones that are crazy stories full of crazy characters.

okamiden I will keep in mind. I never played the original but I heard good things.

I hear the DS has some of the best of these, but these also don't float my boat. I couldn't get into them even in PSX days.

Resident Evil's, Metal Gears, 3rd person shooters, Racing games, car combat games, fighting games, real time strategy games, action adventure, fps, survival horror, jrpgs that are toned down from craziness ( like old ffs ), ninja games, stealth games, diablo style games, competitive games... stuff like that.

(Games received a score of 7.0 or higher from Gamespot)

RTS Games:
Knights in the Nightmare (also on PSP)
Robocalypse
Lock's Quest

Action Adventure:
Dementium
Dementium II
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
Assassin's Creed II: Discovery

I know that Contra and Aliens: Infestation got good reviews as well.

You're going to have to better define what "Non-crazy" means though. lol

KitN is a great game. It mixes the RPG, bullet hell, and RTS genres into a pretty fun game. But the stories slow to get going (and there are 8 endings in the DS version) and battles can get pretty repetitive.

Radiant Historia is really good from what I hear.

Chrono Trigger for DS if you haven't played it before?

Added after 3 minutes:

There was also a first-person survival horror game that was supposed to be alright. I can't remember the name of it though :/ anyone able to help me out? It came out pretty early in the original DS' life from what I remember....

Default Tales of Graces F

After playing Tales of the Abyss 3D, I have decided I want to get in to the tales series.

With this, Tales of Graces F has peaked my interest. Anyone else getting it?

Tales of Graces F didn't exactly have very a good plot and the cast pretty much gets no character development but the battle system alone makes up for all of the game's flaws so I guess that's something for everyone to look forward too... ._.

You should play Tales of Phantasia at some point too. The music and story are legendary in that game.

I'm in the exact same boat as you are, my friend. I definitely want to get it, I just don't know when I will. I have yet to get a PlayStation 3 but when I do Vesperia or Graces will be among one of my first games.

Definitely getting it. Still waiting to see if Amazon wants to give me any bonuses, otherwise I guess I'll be ordering from GameStop. =/

If you want it though, I would grab it soon after it comes out-- I can see Namco doing a low print run because they have no faith in the Tales series over here in NA.

If you have a 360 I would highly suggest that you get Tales of Vesperia. It definitely feels like one of the best polished Tales titles, and the localization is awesome. You can just tell that a lot of hours and careful thought were put into Vesperia. If you loved Abyss you will looooove Vesperia.

Yeah, it definitely seems like Namco Bandai doesnt have any faith in the series. When abyss came out, I think 15 people had it pre-ordered at my gamestop and my gamestop was only shipped 5 copies, so it was first come first serve, even for those who preordered it.

Super Stardust Delta w/DLC
Mutant Blobs attack
Gurumin
Ys 7 and Oath in Felghana
Corpse Party
War of the Lions
Trails in the Sky
The Third Birthday
MH Freedom Unite
MegaMan Maverick Hunter X (it's hard)
Dracula X Chronicles (I got it for Symphony of the Night)
Crush

PSOne classics are a good place to look into once they get it up and running. There are other PSP games I'd recommend but they're over $20.

Edit: Forgot about Patapon, Syphon Filter, Retribution, Daxter, etc.

Is Rayman Origins worth it?

I'm thinking about getting it on steam.

Is it like DKC?

From what I've played of Rayman Origins it is quite awesome. Unfortunately I don't think the PC version has co op, I'll probably end up getting it on Steam when it's on sale.

Argh! It's still not available here in Australia. Is it very easy to change PSN accounts on the PSP? I heard Dan was doing on his Vita, I may just wait until I get a Vita to get Corpse Party though.

I played the demo and it is amazing

And yes, it said it had 4 player coop, but I'm not sure if it's online.

Probably gonna buy it, or if it gets a sale.

Well local co op only is pretty much the same as no co op to me, especially on PC. I don't think it has online which is a shame.

I want to become a better and bigger Sega Fan like i am with Nintendo.
The sega game series i've played so far are : Vector Man, Sonic of course, Alex Kidd, Shinobi, Samba de Amigo, Super Monkey Ball, Billy Hatcher, and i'm planning on getting Ristar as you can see on my avatar
could anyone recommend some Sega games i should try i really enjoy platformer, puzzle, rpg, scrolling shooters, and action/adventure games but i really don't have a preference i like pretty much all types of games except educational (of course)

Valkyria Chronicles (best Sega game I played this gen), Jet Set Radio (it's coming out to PSN/XBLA soon), Phantasy Star games (Portables are out, Online 2 is coming), Crush or CRUSH3D, Yakuza (never played it myself), they're coming out with Rhythm Thief and they make the Hatsune Miku games too. They're import friendly. If you have older consoles, you should look into the Shining games and Skies of Arcadia. Also, they published Bayonetta, Vanquish, and MadWorld (all of which are awesome).

Rayman Origins is a great platformer. And it's sort of like DKC. I mean, it's a platformer and it has a map where you select your stages and you can unlock more stages by finding more cages and by collecting more lums.

It's a shame an online co-op isn't available. It's the case on every platforms and not just PC.

Wasn't sure whether to put this in this thread or the other recommendation thread but oh well...

Does anyone have any recommendations for DS games, as I'm going slightly insane waiting for Heroes of Ruin/Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon ToTT to come out. I like RPGs, but have played Dragon Quest IX and the Pokemon games (if they count as RPGs). Also love Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon series, but have played most of those. Open to trying something new, if it is accessible to someone who is not particularly what one would call a "gamer".

Thanks a lot.

Scratch that. To anyone who's played Glory of Heracles: Is it worth it at $9.41? It's peaked my interest a bit, but i've read that it's kinda bland. Would the game be worth it at the previously mentioned price?

I tried Chrono Trigger, SNES version, on my Android phone by *CENSORED*. It looks good so far, better than FFVII, IMO.

But now, I want the game on an actual game console. Sure, I have the Retro Duo, which is the only SNES thing I have at the moment, so I can get the SNES cartridge. But I bet it's expensive as hell. I also have, of course, a 3DS, so I can get the DS game, but the cheapest I could find for a new copy is about 24 bucks on eBay, and, for a used copy, 15 bucks at my local store.

On the PlayStation Store. It's only 10 bucks, if I recall correctly. But it's the PS1 version. I heard the PS1 version is worse. Is it that much worse? Is the DS version 5-14 bucks better than the digital PS1 version?

lightyears ahead of the ps1 version. even in digital form the ps1 version takes 15 seconds load time just to get to the menu. the DS version has no load times, it has all the extras of the ps1 version and then some.

I'll keep the DS version in mind then. Thanks!

Default Pokemon Ranger

Is there any here who has played Pokemon Rangers? I've been told that its a fun game by a friend, but I'm not convinced that its worth buying. The game seems a little too simple.

I know the original one has a way to get Manaphy. Is there any perks to picking up the other 2 games?

Video games were a relatively new form of entertainment at the time of its release so you'll find that its design is lacking in a lot of what games of today feature. I'd say the main problems are that it is somewhat short, repetitive and lacking in replay-ability. For the price of ?4.50 it is not worth it, but if you're a Mario fan you may still enjoy it so whether or not you think that enjoyment, however short it may last, is worth the price then go for it.

Have you really never played it before?

Btw, you should have asked this in the 3DS games recommendation thread.

I would say that the price (that I converted from ? to Canadian $'s) is a bit high for the game's age and length, but by not that much.

But hey, the mother of side-scrolling platformers can still be fun today, so yeah, I would say it's worth getting. But if you want a more complete Super Mario Bros. game, you can look for Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. These two games are still being argued for the best 2D Mario game.

That just gave me a cool idea for a thread. Let's see if it ain't already made...

No...... I find it hard to believe myself. If its short and repetitive, I probably won't download it then. I'll probably just play it online then.

And yeah, I probably should have, but since I'm here what are your opinions on Kirbys Adventure 3D? I've never played a Kirby game so I don't really know how good it is

I don't have it. I don't like Pokemon spinoffs, so I don't think it'd be worth buying.

It's not a very fun game.

I hated the circle drawing mechanic.

I didn't really enjoy it much when I first tried playing but I never tried again. Considering how old they are and that you can pick them up used it doesn't seem like a huge risk...

I've actually played all three of them. They don't have much replay value though so I sold them back after I was done with them. I think they're okay.

Along with a manaphy, I know I got a darkrai from one of the Pokemon Ranger games ( I think it was the third one.)

Is anyone familiar with Kinect games?

I might rent one just to try it. What games are the best for that thing? I already have Child of Eden.

I've played a couple of them, their really good!
Sure Microsoft may have borrowed the whole motion sensing thing, but they've done a fantastic job with it.

Should I pick up The Legend of Zelda when it hits the Eshop on Thursday?

It's a ridiculously hard game if you don't know where to go at all, and there are always a million enemies on the screen at once.

Hello, i am looking to get a new 3ds game, i am into multiplayer games and good graphics. The three main games i have benn thinking to get are TEKKEN PRIME,RESIDENT EVIL REVERLATIONS AND METAL GEAR SNAKE EATER 3D. Ok ow lets get started, i have think about getting tekken as the online is really fun,and doesnt get boring. The down side to this game is the Move i have heard it Rubbish, and they havent really botherd with the 3d in the game. Ok now Resident Evil REV' I am a good fan of The RES series i have played the demo and i thought it was fantastic! The 3d is awesome many reviews have agreed the online in the game is co op story, this is good but once completing Story mode what other things can you do? is their multiplayer versus modes? Now Snake Eater the 3d in this game is Awesome but the downsides are the frames rates of the game are horrible i have played the demo and in cut scenes it verry laggy when the characters move around. also the camera is zoomed in to snake to much in other MGS games this has been different.. but i have read that the demo differs allot from the game, the game runs more smooth. I dont think there is multiplayer in this game so that a let down too.
So guyes, Tekken Resident Evil or Metal Gear? Oh and if you have ANY of these game please feel free to share your thoughts!

- P.S i wrote this on my 3ds and my hand is dead. Thanks4Reading! =)

Not really needing a game recommendation, per se, but I am interested in the best version for Metal Gear Solid (still haven't completed my collection).
What differences are there between versions and which would you recommend my buying for playability and not simple for my collection.

Can you guys name some really good original ds games that every ds owner should own? I really didn't pay the original ds much attention when it first came out and recently i've been wanting to start a ds collection. The help would be nice, thanks .

TWEWY and Knights in the Nightmare are the most original games on the system that I've played. You might want to give Radiant Historia, Ghost Trick, and 999 a gander too.

ace attorney series
layton series (its puzzle game, but the story is awesome)
trauma center
hotel dusk: room 215
mario & luigi inside story
elite beat agents
ds castlevania series
moon & dementium 2
retro game challenge
world ends with you
custom robo arena
ninja gaiden dragon sword (imo, touch-only game perfection)
zelda ds are quite decent as well

i think that all i can think off right now

So I'm split between preordering one or two 3DS games or getting a bunch of PS3 games for cheaper (or maybe even some really good PS2 games I missed). Any recommendations?

The 3DS games I want to preorder are Heroes of Ruin and KH3D.

So far the PS3 games that interest me are MGS4, MGS bundle, LBP2, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, Uncharted series, Skyrim, Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

Buy Dark Souls new. Pre-order KH3D. Just don't miss out on Dark Souls.

You might like Valkyria Chronicles and Folklore too.

I'm currently running out of games to play on my 3DS. Aside from the 3DS games I have already, I'm not really interested in picking anything else that is out. So any suggestions on DS games that are good and possibly could have been missed.

DS Games Series I played and liked

3DS Games I have:

Any suggestions on what I should pick up? I'm thinking about Radiant Historia and thats pretty much it.

I'd go with Kid Icarus because of the portability, I'd wait a little bit longer for Dragon's Dogma just to make sure your not screwed by Capcom's tactics.

Judging by the demo the game looks really fun and it has great graphics. Plus its open world. Kid Icarus is just boring and linear with ****ty graphics.

DRAGONS DOGMA! I am begging my boyfriend to get it so I can try out Resident Evil 6. That is if you care for that franchise.

What are you talking about? You get the full game when you purchase it. Plus you get Resident Evil 6 demo with it.

It was a joke (an overused one albeit) on Capcom's recent business practices.

Don't get Dragon's Dogma new, buy it used. I had it on pre-order until Capcom blantantly said there was on disc DLC and that it was "too late" to change it, which is a heaping pile of BS. I can't wait to get Dragon's Dogma, but I'll be picking it up used.

I wasn't terribly fond of KiD Icarus, but I will say if it wasn't for the ground controls, it would easily be the 3DS' killer app. You are getting a complete game with Icarus, so do the right thing and buy it over Dogma, unless you see Dogma used. Then buy the s*** out of Dogma.

Remember, if you buy Dragon's Doga new, you are part of the reason the gaming industry is reaching a new low, and you also prove you are easy to bend over and be taken advantage of. No self control, screw over the industry. BOOO!

Nooo you don't, already confirmed that multiple DLC items are on the disc, locked away until you buy it.

They literally advertise the DLC in the game via pop-ups. It's incredibly pathetic and low.

So, in short, Dragon's Dogma locks away content on the disc, therefor, you don't get the full game.

Two completely different games on different systems, so I don't know. What type of game would you rather get?

I changed my mind, I'll preorder Torchlight 2 for ?14, from Steam, instead.
The best part about it is that if I preorder from Steam, I get the original Torchlight for free!

That means I can play the original while waiting for the new one!
God bless Steam.

Do the Scribblenauts games have any plot? Let's say I wanted to get into the Scribblenauts games, would I have to buy Scribblenauts and then Super Scribblenauts? Or can I just get right into Super Scribblenauts?

there is literally not an ounce of plot

also there's really no reason to get the first as the second is superior in most every way, and i imagine the third will be even better

the current best version is probably the iOS one, but i don't have it so don't take my word for it too much

Yeah, it's a sequel to the game.

I'd recommend getting it, 'cause it's a really great game in my opinion. Just keep in mind that despite being Chrono Trigger's sequel, it plays very differently from it.

Persona 3 Portable
Patapon Series
Monster Hunter Series
Lumines Series
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Ys Seven
Half-Minute Hero
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Disgaea Series

Prinny Series
Ace Combat Series
Jeanne D'Arc
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus
Silent Hill Origins
Wipeout Series
Project Diva

The ones in red are RPGs. The ones in this blue are rhythm or puzzle games. The rest, I assume you can figure out for yourself just by looking at the title. There's also Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII that are pretty decent plays.

Well, the sequel to 999 is coming out soon (probably next year for the West, though). It's called 'Good People Die'.

I would say Ever17 is a game like 999, but without the puzzles.

The Phoenix Wright series is also a bit VN like, or Professor Layton. Both are quite different, but fun.
Ghost Trick is excellent.

I recommend Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning to anyone with a PS3, XBOX 360, or gaming PC. Even though the company who developed the game shut down after releasing only one game its a really fun game that looks beautiful.

Outside Japan it's only available on PC. If you live in Japan, you can get it on PS2, Dreamcast, XBOX360, PC and PSP.

Do you have another console you play multiplatforms on?

For exclusives, get inFamous 2, Demon Souls, Ratchet & Clank, Borderlands, Valkyria Chronicles...

I am not a fan of the Uncharted series but if you like 1 then you should definitely get 2.

Journey and Flower
Valkyria Chronicles
Vanquish
Folklore*
Demon's/Dark Souls
Heavy Rain*
Enslaved*
Little Big Planet 2
HD collections - you can get the Ico/SotC and Sly collections for cheap.
Wipeout HD and Fury
Super Stardust HD
Portal 2
Child of Eden
El Shaddai*
Catherine*
Bayonetta*
Disgaea 4*

I gave *'s to games that are either niche or a poorer version (Bayonetta and Enslaved).

So I've been searching for a quality game since May and I've had no luck. I played Ninjatown on the DS and I loved it. Couldn't put it down. Most of the DS and 3DS game aren't catching my interest. Can someone make a recommendation. I got Swords and Soldiers and it's all right. Thanks guys

I own:

If you tell us what genres you prefer it will be much easier to recommend you a good game. Also if you have a PC there are many classic games you can try, but such games are an option only if you don't mind old graphics.

If you haven't already played it and enjoy RPG, you should get Xenoblade Chronicles. One of the best games out there for the Wii and shouldn't be missed.

Based on the games you've played, I think you'd like the RTS genre (real-time strategy), which makes sense because there are hardly any on the DS and 3DS.

I recommend the Age of Empires series for PC. If you want something less complicated then you should check out Lego Battles for DS. I've never played it but it looks pretty fun.

I'm in the same dilemma. Just beat Tales of Innocence R and have just over a week until Heroes of Ruin comes out and I don't know what to play.

Maybe I'll start working on prepping for getting every pokemon when Black and White 2 come out.

Or maybe I'll start playing the first dragon quest game. Idk.

I recommend the Age of Empires series for PC. If you want something less complicated then you should check out Lego Battles for DS. I've never played it but it looks pretty fun.
I consider Age of Empires to be one of the less complicated RTS games out there. Even though the second one is good it's not anywhere close to Rome Total War(one of the best RTS games) or the epic campaign featured in Battle for Middle Earth. The Total War series is a bit complicated for newcomers but is the best strategy games series.

I actually don't use my PC cause it runs extremely slow, but I use my macbok all the time. I wanted to get The Secret World but it's only for PC. I do like strategy games. Simulation is also pretty neat. I'm not really into fighting games. Unless it's like Smash Brothers.
