Anyone want to share their drawings? I'm interested in seeing what everyone else has done! I haven't seen any other threads for showcasing work.
I'll start off with some of my stuff, I've only doodled some Pokemon so far;

I've loving that piece of art Akaraah. The variety of details inspire me to stop abusing the thinnest pencil lines to make all of my drawings look furry. XD

Like I mentioned before about the furriness, mine still need work, but I also noticed that the drawings look much better in the 3DS than it is in the computer. o.o

Finally, here's my new icon around my forums... I call this one Lil' Vambella (basically a chibi like vampire girl)... The sucky thing is that something happened and I wasn't able to save the original painting on my memory card and had to use the paint session option to send it to my brother's 3DS. Which means I can't upload this one on colors even though it is already finished. :P

If you've already uploaded it to the gallery off your 3DS, just log into the website and copy the image URL. (Make sure you don't press "play" beforehand.)

In my opinion, it is worth the $6.99 considering the art program itself in a handheld device is fantastic. It's much better than the other art programs I've used so far, although there can be a few minor technical difficulties, but they're easy to get out of the way.

It's a pretty decent program, and it's very portable! If you enjoy drawing I'd say it's worth it. In my opinion, the gallery options and playbacks are a bonus.
I don't get on a computer as often as I used to, so it's nice to practice digital painting this way.

My latest painting. I go for a more cartoonish look with doll characters. I experimented with the 3D more in this one; more so than I did with the first painting I shared, so to appreciate it fully you must see it in 3D (if I do say so myself).

I felt the same thing... :P

The developers have a Colors! 3D facebook page, you could inquire about a potential future feature where we can play music directly off of the SD card. I talked to one of the developers via facebook on the Colors page (had a saving issue pop up) and they (the person named Ven, at least), seemed very active and helpful.

@DextriuX, that's awesome that you could paint with it in class. The picture itself looks great too, I like how you did the shading.

@Mario Kart, it's been announced that Colors!3D will be released in Europe and Australia on April 19! Yay!

I finally finished one of my paintings, it's from Metroid Prime. (also here)

It's much darker in 2D than 3D than I realized, I'll have to keep that in mind for future paintings. But it is nice that they save so big. I wished the Colors Gallery app had a search feature though -- it's hard to keep track of pictures/artists unless something of theirs is in the Favorites.

Finally, I've been trying to share the larger version of this painting for the longest, but it doesn't load correctly if linked from certain sites for me...

Anyway, this is is the painting I'm referring to that I did in an earlier comment but it would not load. I started this on my own 3DS but had a saving problem and had to transfer it to my brother's, unfortunately that means I can't upload to the colors gallery. I've since switched to a different card with fresh save data so I've been fine up until this point. :P

Since I can't upload it to colors, here's the 3D version for anyone who is interest:

Just click on this image on your 3DS and it should allow you to get the mpo.

If you hold up or down on the d-pad while making a mark, you can lessen or darken the opacity of the mark. This is pretty good so you don't have to keep switching. It isn't exactly pressure sensitive, but it works.

What is your user name on Colors if you don't mind giving it?? As well, I wouldn't worry too much about coloring... I was never too good either (I basically left a majority of my artwork black and white,with a-few gray areas). These sorts of tools are for us hobbyists anyway, if I posted my first works on colors, the cat you drew is far better by comparison.

I do like the app quite a bit. I use it to mostly doodle. Not great at coloring. I'm mainly a pixel artist XD
3D is fun to play with and I like the playback. Wished there was a way to drag an image around, I always draw something in the middle then get an idea to add something but have no room on the sides heh

There 2 sprite chars of mine. As close to being fully drawn as they are gonna get heh

Just finished another one...

This one has the best 3D among all my uploads if I were to assert my opinion here. For those of you browsing on your 3DS all you need to do is click on the above image and you can get the mpo.

More about this painting; I was going for a more plaster-like finish, as to why the character is shiny. I basically took what I learned from my other images to make the 3D really shine. The guy is going towards a frog-type temple. I also wanted to add a definite light-source this time around as you can see with the sun. I'm happy with the results. Look at the 'eye' of the ruins in 3D and you'll see the new effects I've picked up. :P

Well, from my experience, I'd recommend moving/copying your data from your current memory card to another if you have one available. Or you could simply go to their community page here to inquire about the issue: https://www.facebook.com/ColorsLive

This is my latest painting where I wanted to play with birds-eye perspective in 3D. I think it turned out good. I wanted to make a combat scene initially, but that quickly changed as I progressed.

I'm highly considering using Colors! 3D to start up artwork for a story I began drafting last year in July. I've downloaded an animation software called digicel (for mac/pc) and since I'm aware of how big you can output/export images from your SD card, it'd be neat to see if I could use the artwork composed on my 3DS as backgrounds and such. While being a considerably simple application, there's lots of things I can think of doing in aiding my potential skills in all the art forms I work in. :P

I'm not skilled in any way when it comes to drawing. I can imagine and things, but its just too difficult to put it on paper. I'm really interested in drawing and stuff like that, but I haven't tried. Would buying this app be worth it? And, would I be able to develop my skills and such?

yeah, the app is pretty cool, wheter you are skilled or just like to draw stuff..the best ways to develop skills are practice and some lessons always come in handy lol but i'd say its worth getting it.

This one took me a few days (the longest time I've spent on a painting yet!) but I'm happy with it. I ended up working on it for so long that I ran footage to record (the app tracks up to 6 hours out footage per painting according to the creator of the app). It's a woman/archer exploring some strange building. I wanted to focus mostly on the environment and light source in this one.

Glad that you noticed before you even read what I said below, it means I was successful.

Adding on to that, with my latest paintings, I feel colors has, in a short period of time, helped me improve in visualizing my light and dark values, with the Lydia drawing and this showing most of those improvements.

A little news bulletin here, I went to the Colors! 3D community page on facebook and noticed this link the page manager (Jens Anderson) provided on a site called digitallydownloaded.net . Apparently, according to this article: http://www.digitallydownloaded.net/2...-consoles.html

the site is hosting a project where digital art made on game consoles will be featured, namely Colors! 3D, Art Academy, uDraw, and any other programs that they may have listed. I just wanted to share this here as well as I have already sought to have some of my art featured if I get a chance. The article has instructions on how to enter and they're simple enough, so no need for me to go into detail. Again, I just wanted to share this with anyone else who is interested.

This drawing isn't in 3D, or my most detailed. I went for a more manga-type look this time around. The characters are Raseph and Gheena (I've already done a portrait of them both, separately). I intend to do more full body art.

Oh, her face looks a lot more natural and aesthetically pleasing than the last few you posted.

Only thing to watch out for is the lids. One of them is higher up so half her face looks drowsy/relaxed and the other alert. :P I'd like to see it with some detailed hair too.

Thanks, I'll be sure to make more improvements to my work as I make more. I don't typically return to work on previous drawings, but I'll be sure to watch out for those errors you mentioned. A few of those drawings are based off older drawings I did on my DSi (with flipnote), so I imagine some of the errors I made on those transitioned over. :P

Tentative cover art I made with my characters (Raseph, Gheena, and Hemif) on it, giving the peace sign. I don't know if it's the same case for others, but it appears kind of dark on my laptop screen, so it may be hard to see... :P

Anyway, I went for a comicbook look again, but instead of Japanese manga, I went for a more Dark horse/Marvel/ DC type look in terms of coloring, but not exclusive to any of those looks.

I love Colors! 3D. The layering is amazing, but I'm still a terrible artist. I can only cartoon. How do you make such cool & realistic drawings! Sure, the layering makes it look cool, but I just can't draw like everyone else.

It does look a little dark. Its pretty good. Like the detail on your characters.

I do have a few suggestions on what you can do to improve the composition. It is your choice to read it or not.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to implement it if I care to do any revisions in the future. Also, if anyone wants, I could upload the edited version here. I used photoshop CS5 to make it look brighter and cleaner, similar to how it looks on my 3DS screen. The environment is a lot more discernible on the 3DS itself for some reason (as well as when I put the image on my vita). The computer monitor makes things appear darker so I'm just asking. Come to think f it, a lot of my drawings made with colors appear harder to see on a PC, so I could do that for all my previous uploads to this thread. It's just that I usually directly link the image file from the Colors! 3D website. :P

My latest painting. My character Gheena walking through a (futuristic) park. Looks better in 3D with the perspective and all. I would have finished it sooner, but E3 was around (no matter how lackluster it was in quite a few ways :P)

The gear she is wearing is for some unspecified sport, you decide what you want it to be. I tried to do better with environments this time around since I rarely draw them, but that's changing. So let me know how I did (oh, and the image may appear dark on your computer, so I'd recommend viewing it on your 3DS or Vita if you have one).

They're all full bodied, just that in 2D you can't see the rest of their body's on some of them that are further "back". I plan to separate them on my computer for other purposes. I'm pleased with this one because it looks more like how I want the art to look in the story I'm working on. Gotta' love Colors! 3D.
