Default Weird things in Mario Tennis?

I've played all Mario tennis games on the consoles, none had problems like this though.
First off, the AI for team double seems like it's on the opposing teams side, and most of the time, he either misses, or follows me around the court leaving the other side wide open. Besides that, I rarely ever get the powerup spots when playing online or single solo. I don't know if that is a glitch, but I usually get one, when the opponent(s) Get 4 to 6 in a row. The most disappointing thing however, is the Online lag. Whenever I get into a game, I get kicked out, or have to leave due to the players not even moving......I do not know if this is a glitch also, but I keep getting one-shotted on the first serve every online game when the opponent is serving. It just gets shot super fast into the Zone where I can't even move fast enough to hit it. Anyone else having weird or unusual experiences with this game that haven't been in the others?

If the opponent doesnt move, and its their serve, it eventually kicks them out. As for the super fast shots, move before they hit the shot, or press the R button.

I haven't had any problems online. But i can definitely vouch for the AI in doubles is against you. Your partner is well... frustrating!

It's too easy to turn a doubles game into a lopsided 1 vs 2(even when my partner is star) victory for your opponent. If they update the game, they need to tone down boo's stats. I want to quit online and play exclusively against friends because of too many people using boo, but I'm not gonna :/ it's basically an online cheat to use boo.

So i just tested doubles and i got two things for ya. Make your partner a star character. The AI is much smarter i've found. Secondly... did you know you can press the "L" button when the ball comes to your side of the court to call the shot? If you cal the shot your partner should automatically stop going after the ball allowing you to smash the ball as much as you please.

As far as Boo goes he lacks power. So use that to your advantage. Get boo to a position where he's far from the net.

If you can't beat boo online you need to learn how to play. He's not over powered if you understand the principles of side spin and as the above guy said keep him away from the net. Trust me boo is not that good there are better characters/better combinations of play out there if you know how to work to the characters advantages.

As for the lack of getting power shots online it's because you aren't positioning yourself properly and are returning balls with the wrong type of spin. Bad positioning means you wont return the ball well and will set the opponent up for a chance/power shot. Also if someone slices and you slice back the opponent will most likely get a slice power shot or lob (I know it's 'chance' but I've seen this happen far too many times). Same goes for top spin. Smashes come from a bad high return or a lob, but I haven't figured out the drop shot chance shot.

Anyway hope that helps

Added after 50 minutes:

sorry if the above/earlier post sounded mean I was in a rush! but yeah boo isn't overpowered, it's just one of many responses to the plethora of power players out there. The same could be said about mii's with beefed up serves/strokes and speed because they pretty much force out a smash circle unless you get the correct positioning.

No, I beat boo online more than I lose, It's just annoying how slow characters are online which makes me unable to return about half of it's slice serves. One problem is I'm used to being able to predict where the cpu hits the ball, and online players are so hard to predict.

I have yet to win one battle online....I don't understand....I beat Mario Power Tennis on All Difficulties and completed everything. I feel like my character is really weak and slow. It might be the lag also.

based on our last attempt to play online in doubles exhibition, It's most likely the lag. Miis seem to be slower than the mario characters online too.

I have to disagree. I main my Mii and i can cover the court really well. However when there's lag... that's a different story.

The lag is so bad, the screen doesn't even move, it's just a stale picture.

If you're Mii is slow there is a simple solution, change your Mii's gear! That's why you can buy a whole heap of stuff. I also main my Mii and am happy with my stat combination, you just need to find gear that suits your gameplay.
