So far, I've been using FL Studio. It does exactly what I need it to do. Although, I will one day play with Ableton, Reason, and some others. :]

What VST plugins do you use with your FL Studio?

Also, I would suggest you move to another DAW only if you have the balls to do so. There are professionals who use FL Studio, like deadmau5.

I haven't used Massive in any song I uploaded but I am using Massive in a song I've been working on. :]

Oh, didn't know that about Reason. :< But I'll definitely explore other DAWs.

Wow, that was just amazing!
Great job Kurtiss, i didn't know you had such a talent with music! Khaotic and Digital Fantasy sound epic! Midnight Stars is good too but in my opinion the other 2 are so good!
You should write music for a video game or something!

Printed out semi-finished covers with my cheap as hell printer (Destroyed most of details, like wiped out 95% of the stars). Just to get the hype going :3

You have a point, but tons of electronic tracks have barely-to-no vocals and can be still good. By barely, I mean some vocal one-shots there and there and that's it.

Vocal chopping patterns, repeated lyric loops and full lyrics are possible as well, no matter if they're sang or just spoken in a stylish way.

But they're not a necessity. It's up to the producer to decide.

Thanks a lot. I'd say about 7 months. :3 Although, I did have a song before then but it was just something quickly whipped up for a school project. When I was little, I also composed actual sheet music. I was taking piano lessons, quit, then began teaching myself. Though, I'm starting to feel that all my songs are mediocre now, lol. I feel like I'm capable of much more now and I hope it'll show in my songs in the future. Although, I am happy with "For You".

Here's a little clip of another song I'm working on, along side a dubstep track that I'm re-writing because I didn't like the melody.

The clip you just posted already sounds a step above-- ahhh I don't know music terms much so I can't describe song elements that well, but it's got a really nice structure to it! Nice progression/build up, uplifting sound-- sad it ended so soon XD;

About how long does it take for you to put a song together (start-finish) :x? Or does that vary widely

It varies widely... hmm... I'm not sure exactly but I'll just list an approximate time for each track. :P

Digital Fantasy - 2 weeks

Khaotic - a month, maybe even a bit more

Midnight Stars - About a month

Way To Go - I think it was only a few weeks for this one.. can't remember

Moonstruck - Came up with the melody a loong time ago then finished it in a weekend.. I even went ahead and deleted it since I wasn't really happy with it but someone on skype told me they like it a lot so.. I just kept it up xD

I'm Free - I think about a week or two o.o;

Toxik Rabbit - About a week..

For You - A bit more than a month, spent about 2-3 days mixing and mastering (at least trying to master xP think it sounds alright).

I'd say for something good it will take quite some time, let's say a month.. maybe even more.. some people work at a different paces though. I'm trying to work more slowly so I can inspect everything. That's what I noticed in the beginning - I was going too fast, trying to get things done as if I had a deadline.

With my future projects I want to make sure that I am 100% happy with every single thing before uploading.

Edit: Also, in the preview I cut it there on purpose, hoping it would make people want more. XD
Edit 2: Even though I think Way To Go only took a few weeks, I still think it's better than most of my other songs. :P

I don't even have my laptop back yet, it's still being repaired and that's the laptop I use for my music. I could do it on this one but it's really annoying because it has a slow processor so with a bunch of synths open it starts lagging. xP

I have a trance song that'll be out this friday (maybe). I'm really excited to release it. Here's the artwork for it:

Also wanna say sorry to Kinvara who also worked on artwork for another one of my songs, I tossed that song away because I hated the sound of the finish product. It just sounded really bland.

I've also been quite busy working on music for a game called Pete. I don't only write electronic music, I love to write orchestral/acoustic stuff as well. idk if I should announce this or not... so i'll kinda keep it vague plus what are the chances of certain people coming to a 3ds forum

I was given an opportunity a few nights ago and basically I'll be having my first official track released with an actual label sometime this winter. I'm really excited.

Also, I'll be changing my alias for my electronic music but I don't want to say what I'll be changing it to until later.

In other news, I'm also working on an orchestral demo to send out to (indie) studios because I'd really like to focus on writing music for games and writing electronic tracks on the side.
