I wonder what's going on behind the scenes as to why this game keeps getting delayed. Even though it was confirmed that the game wouldn't have online multiplayer, I recently heard rumours about implementing it to satisfy the fans. They were struggling, however, since it's hard to keep the game at a steady framerate with all the Pikmin present in the area.

As long as the game is polished then I'm kind of fine with it being delayed, but I was really looking forward to it this spring. I guess Resident Evil: Revelations and hopefully The Wonderful 101 will be the only Wii U games I'll be playing this summer.

Might pick this up. Looks great.

Although, I am a little skeptical. Bought Pikmin 2 for Wii and lost interest after the 22nd day...

I personally liked the first Pikmin a lot better. I hated the dungeons in 2.

Pikmin 1 was much more strategy/multitasking focused than pikmin 2 where you could do things one at a time with full teams. Pikmin 1 actually had you creating teams of pikmin doing multiple tasks at the same time and hoping you cleared proper paths for them all.

The new characters are called Alph, Brittany, and Charlie.

It looks like instead of a time limit there's a food limit. Gotta get juice. The latest footage looks great.

You can play with either the gamepad, wii remote, or pro controller.

Off-TV Play. Gamepad can function as a monitor for play with Wii Remote.

August 4th launch date.

I swear, they really REALLY need to not focus on this game or Wonderful 101 at E3.

Pikmin is actually the game getting me interested in the Wii U, the last footage was AWESOME! Graphics were beyond everything I have seen on Wii U (excluding X) and the gameplay looks awesome! What really is selling me to this game is the way you can replay the days!

Why is there a Nintendo Network logo on all of the trailers? Is that for the Miiverse capabilities, or is there online multiplayer now as well?

Practically every Wii U game will have the Nintendo Network logo associated with it, as long as they have Miiverse. The NN logo won't leak online modes on Wii U xD.

Famitsu Score

Famitsu gave it a 37/10. This doesn't really mean much because Famitsu isn't regarded as very trustworthy, but the first score I think.

Aww, that was adorable how the Pikmin all hid behind the girl...

It's weird, that Bulborb isn't that big, but I'd be hesitant in picking it up or touching it... even to defend the Pikmin. I mean, where has it been, exactly?

...I'm terrible for hesitating to defend the Pikmin, I know.

Yes, but Famitsu sometimes gives good scores to bad game and bad scores to good games. I know Pikmin 3 will be really good, and 93% is good, but they don't have the best credibility.

My copy shipped Tracking says it will arrive tomorrow (Friday), but I don't get it until my birthday. It arriving early isn't useful when it is a birthday gift!

I got it yesterday and I've played it a bit. It's cool. I wish I was able to finish the first two before my Wii broke, but oh well.

It's amazing. I can hardly put it down, but the only reason I'm taking it slow is because people say it's short. I'm about 8.5 hours in and there's no sign of it ending yet :3 Plus I haven't touched the Mission Mode.

I love how cinematic they've made it and honestly speaking it doesn't look like a Wii game at all in motion. Only gripe I have with the game is that the Gamepad controls are almost unplayable. If you don't have a Wiimote+nunchuck, don't bother.

I wasn't even gonna get this game at first but I got it for less than a 3DS game so I had to. Good thing I didn't miss out on it. It's kinda hard for my OCD mind though because I don't want to leave things behind and want everything done in a single day.

I added a poll to the thread about which control scheme you used the most.

I ended up using the wii remote. Pointer controls are a must for this game.

I finally beat the game (collected all the fruit too). The last boss was very cool.

It's by far the best pikmin.

I've been playing as much as I can, and so far, I love it! I just wish I had a strategy guide so I know what I'm doing half the time... I find that odd, both this and Fire Emblem: Awakening feel like games most-deserving of a strategy guide, FAR more then the likes of New Super Mario Bros. U. Fire Emblem: Awakening I guess I can kind of understand, given that Nintendo wasn't that committed to bringing it over here, and was pleasantly surprised to see it sell so well. So why doesn't Pikmin 3 have a strategy guide?

I think it might have to do with the fact that the Wii U isn't selling as well as Nintendo would have hoped and they're cutting corners in that regard. Not to mention, you COULD just ask for help on Miiverse, or look up a GameFAQs write-up without having to leave the game. Still, I like strategy guides as something I can read in the bathroom.

Oh, and as a sidenote related to the game, I love that you technically have an unlimited amount of days to complete the game, but you DO have a limited food supply, which gives you motivation to collect fruit every day.

I absolutely loved the game. It left me wanting even more.

I guess I'll try challenge mode next. I usually just stick to story mode but I think I'll make an exception for this game.

There's no other way to deem this game other than another Miyamoto masterpiece.

I've been desperately trying to savor it and not play it all in one run, so I've only been doing two or three "Pikmin days" per day. Still have a lot to cover; but considering the Wii U's current library, I think I can afford to take things slow...

This game is a good challenge. I especially like how it isn't so frustrating as in Pikmin 1 where even the slightest mistake would throw you off course. In Pikmin 3, you can take it slow, as long as you have enough food. And if you did really bad or failed to complete a mission, you can always just start the day over. It's a nice balance between the gaming styles of its predecessors, and it updates the gameplay by adding new types (although I do not understand why Rock Pikmin replaced Purple Pikmin, who could have easily also had the ability to break crystal) and adding amazing graphics. I like the redesign of the Onion. It's also convenient having all the Onions merged into one.

I'm suffering from Pikmin withdrawal.

I ordered the Pikmin tote from Club Nintendo and I'm going to try and finish Pikmin 2 despite really hating the dungeons.

So $2 for 4 stages. Doesn't seem too bad, a much better deal than the NSMB2 DLC. I still haven't even beat all the standard missions, so I will probably hold off on this DLC until they are all out. There will probably be a discount if you purchase them all as a bundle.

Loving the Pikmin DLC, especially the latest batch. Up to now Pikmin DLC is the only DLC I ever bought. I like how nintendo handles it, with every batch they give one free stage.

Pikmin 3 is may favourite game on WiiU so far and my favourite game of 2013. I just hope Nintendo keeps up the good work and we may see other older franchises enjoying some love...
