Default Pokemon Conquest or Devil Survivor: Overclocked

I'm hoping to get DS:O for my birthday, but I just want to see some people's opinions on this.

But if you want an easy SRPG then get conquest. If you want a challenging SRPG that has an awesome SMT storyline go with DS:O. I would choose DS over Pokemon, but you can't really go wrong with either. Devil Survivor is one of my favorite games and I would highly recommend it

Never played Devil Survivor but I tried Conquest, expecting it to suck... Ended up playing it over 6 hours straight. X_x

But yeah, there's a sticky for this. :P

I just played a bit of pokemon conquest. It seems decent enough, though it is missing one of my favorite options in SRPGs. The reason i keep replaying FFT is the customization of party and how battles can unfold. Jobs, equips, items, and skills make the game fun and replayable.

Pokemon conquest seems rather limited so far. Granted i didnt get very far yet. But as far as i can tell. Its very limited. Each pokemon can only use one move, one item, warlord power (once per battle), and abilities that activate automatically. Even worse is the lack of most pokemon, being unable to use my favorite pokemon is a let down. Don't get me wrong though, i will probably finish the game. But it seems like one of those games i will beat and then never touch again.

The only thing that might keep me going is being able to battle my friends eventually.

Devil Survivor was one of the best srpg on the DS. Many people, including me, thought that mixing strategy rpg with a game like the Devil Survivor series would be a bad mix but they pulled it off pretty well. The story is very engaging as well as mature. The choices you make will effect characters' lives. The only bad thing about Devil Survivor was the empty town locations. They've upgraded the graphics and added more content on the 3DS version.

They took the same risk they took Devil Survivor- by mixing a well known IP and mixing it up with srpg mechanics. It has been getting an overwhelmingly good ratings so I'll pick this up soon.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. I've played DS and that was one of the best rpg I've experienced on the DS. I loved the mature theme. Trying to talk your way into a monster's good graces was fun in the hopes of recruiting them. Demon fusion was another great aspect of the game.
