First Impressions: Demon's Crest/Gargoyle's Quest III (SNES)
So. Yeah. Demon's Crest.
I like this game so far.
----
So in 1994 Cappycomz wanted to be original and made a little gem called Demon's Crest. It sold like ****. Because it wasn't called Gargoyle's Quest III. Therefore everyone thought it was a game about the devil and moved on.
But then I saw this video of Obscure SNES Gems. This game was UP THERE. So, I decided to try it out.
Immediately after starting the game you're met with the first boss.
This is cool. This is really cool.
You have to understand, games starting with the first boss were incredibly rare in those days. This is cool and a nice change of pace.
So it's a giant Dragon Thing. Woo...?
So after a few seconds of experimentation you figure out the three basic moves - Jump, Shoot, and Nom. Nomming doesn't seem to do anything at the moment, so I just shoot the Dragon head.
After a few seconds of shooting, the dragon falls, and the next stage commences.
I notice the music is awesome. I move on.
Your standard platforming swig, I come across a few more bosses along the way until I reach a boss named Arma. He tells me to **** off and that he's going to kill me. After I sweep him with my fireball attack, he says a goodbye speech and grants you with a new weapon, after that, you're teleported to what seems like the overworld.
That's where my impression ends.
The game's good, really good. I love it so far, it's like the Megaman games (IT'S ALSO MADE BY CAPPYCOM, HOW ABOUT THAT ****) in it's style. I like the level design. Sadly, the game isn't available on VC. (what the hell, capcom). Therefore, you're gonna have to...y'know...y'know...(i'm not saying it because the 3DS Forums mods would kill me, but y'know.)
It's a shame really, but I suggest you play this one. It's really good guize.
Really. Believe me.
