Default Super Mario 3D Land VS. NEW Super Mario Bros. 2

What is the better 3ds game to you? NSMB2 or SM3DL? For me it is 3d land by a long shot. (Lol I didn't mean to make that Zelda reference)

Let the flame wars begin

I honestly can't decide. They both are fantastic and some of the best the 3DS has to offer.
We'll see if in eight months I'm still playing NSMB2 like I play 3D Land over a year later. After that, I will come back with my decision.

You should really add a poll and make it so people can select both if they want to. These kind of threads are pointless without a poll.

I like SM3DL and NSMB2 in different ways, but if I had to pick one, I'd go with NSMB2. I just enjoyed it more and prefer 2D Mario games a little more.

I liked both but I played NSMB2 about 2.5x as long as SM3DL, and I still play it. I sometimes play SM3DL but the levels are kinda boring with how similar they are.

Speaking of which, where's the guy who hates linear games (or whatever) and thinks that they shouldn't exist?

^ Missed me?

Linear Mario 3D was a disappointment, NSMB2 was better than expected. NSMB2 by far.

What is up with these versus threads?

Honestly?

And if I had to choose, I would go with NSMB2. I loved 3d land too, but something about NSMB2 just made me like it more.

Ah, good to see you. What exactly made you enjoy NSMB2 more than 3D Land? (Just out of curiosity.)

In all seriousness, it is good having someone here who has such a different opinion. While I'm still liking 3D Land, you did open my eyes on a few small matters, which I appreciate.

I already explained why I despise Linear Mario 3D so many times already, I think you can figure out why

No problem I suppose. It's good to have different opinions and to see different points of view on things so we can see the positives and negatives that everyone sees :3

I think for a new 3DS owner, 3D Land would be the priority. It shows off the 3D effect and the graphical capabilities of the system. If you played NSMB2 first, you'd think the 3D effect sucks and it's nothing more than a slightly more powerful DS.

Past those drawbacks, I did play NSMB2 a lot more. There's something about it being so streamlined that makes it ridiculously addictive, and personally, I like coin rush. Maybe because I wish my life were like coin rush.
