Both are cool indeed. I kinda like the name Yveltal better though (sounds like evil-tal, which sounds...evil). Froakie is WAY cooler! One frog to rule them all!

Hopefully alot of what B2W2 did, but in 3D. I want a lot of references to Unova, much like GSC had lots of references to RBY.

A badass evil team like Team Plasma or Team Galactic (not a stupid one like Magma or Aqua)

An better story (BW and B2W2 were steps in the right direction, but just a little more would make the experience great)

Overall, I'm just glad we got through Gen V without remakes of Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald

I know, I'm aware of that, but it doesn't mean it can't have that type pairing too. At this point, multiple of type combos are going to happen naturually, so we can't really take that as much into account now.

I doubt there will be an easy or fast way, as they haven't come up with one yet. Gen 3 -> Gen 4 was the catching mini-game, once a day. Gen 4 -> Gen 5 was the slingshot game. None were convenient.

There's no further announcement about X/Y Transfer yet. So I don't know about X/Y to have the ability to transfer Pokemon from BW/BW2 to X/Y.

You have to wait patiently before you can catch all that one billion Pidove... It will be a long wait. If there were an announcement about "Transfer" on X/Y to happen then I do feel pity for all of your effort to be wasted on 1 billion Pidove forever~

Actually, now that i think about it, i will wait until X/Y, because if i spent ages transfering them to white 2 and then it turns out i'll have to do the same thing to get them to X/Y, i might aswell wait for X/Y and just transfer them from White instead of White 2 :P

Hey guys,

Don't get too down if they don't have an option to transfer Pokemon from an older Gen.

It means all of the currently hacked Pokemon in circulation right now will be useless going forward.

I agree it's only a matter of time before someone hacks the 3DS for real but the 3DS can support DLC that could slow down hackers. Or, once it's been hacked for so long release a massive update that once again renders all hacks useless until they learn how to re hack it again.

I hope that you can't transfer.

I feel somewhat conflicted about the prospect of no generational trades. On the one hand the argument for removing modified Pok?mon is very compelling.

On the other hand, there are a lot of monsters I have which I have put an exceptional amount of time into training, hundreds into thousands of hours over the course of nearly ten years now. For all that work to suddenly be rendered defunct would be somewhat crushing.

Honestly, I think hack-checks in the same vein as those currently carried out for online battles are more than sufficient. Preserving the ability to transfer while blocking those with abilities and movesets(?) they shouldn't be able to have.

@ Tekka, The point of not allowing hacks is not to stop illegal move sets... In my opinion.
It's to stop people hacking perfect Pokemon with little to no effort put in what so ever.

If I see a Pokemon using an illegal move I would usually just laugh, but a perfect IV team of shiny Pokemon is obviously a hacked team.

If you don't want to put the effort in either don't compete online or use the simulators.

Yes, hack checks will not discriminate against those that are technically still legitimate, but that's something that would have to be accepted as long as transfers are still possible.

However, it is not as simple as no transfers = all is good. There are more factors to consider. A blanket ban would not only stop this but also hurt those of us who do not cheat, and consequently deny us the fruits of the labour we have put into the series over an entire decade.

Also, as others have said in the future, cheating may once again be possible. Meaning all that work would have been lost for temporary gains.

Your standards will of course be different from mine, but there are certain undesirable elements from the previous generation which I am willing to put up with that mean very little in the long term, in exchange for not losing ten years of work.

Sooner or later though, I'd have thought, there will come a time when generation switching will be impossible and a fresh start must occur.

I hear people complain that if they can't transfer their Pokemon then all event Pokemon and one off Pokemon are lost. Are they really though? How many people actually use their event Pokemon in online battles? Most legendary Pokemon are banned.. So I can't really see the problem. It's like not they are being taken away from you. You still own them and can use them.. Just not in this gen. It happened in Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver/Crystal.

Putting in the hard work to raise a team will be rewarding in the long run. The amount of Pokemon is said to hit over 700 when Gen 6 is released. The odds of you using the exact same team you used in Gen 5 is quite slim. The Pokemon you have right now might have access to new moves, new evolutions, new stat spreads, new natures and abilities, new items may come about that change the meta game totally.

Obviously all of this is just speculation at the moment, but my point is, the odds of the team you have raised from egg's being 100% useful in a totally new Gen no one knows anything about is very slim. So you will have to raise a totally new team anyway.

Can you see my point ?

I do see your point, of course, and I'm certainly not questioning the validity of it. But again, there is more to it than just battling. I'm not ashamed to admit that I am as much a collector as I am a trainer, and I can get very sentimental about those tiny scraps of data! Especially the ones that have been with me for a very long time.

I am however, not going to lose my **** over a game if I can't transfer, because I have no problem with starting over if it's unavoidable. But as long as it's still up in the air I'm still going to advocate for transfer, as pointless as being that advocator may be in regards to the plans that Nintendo already has.

I've had "Sky" the Rayquaza since Emerald Version. He's the only pokemon I ever bothered to level up to 100.

I understand your attachment to your "bits of data" haha. I feel the same way.

I guess it may have been a little easier for me to let mine stay on a cart due to the fact that I never had a DS or DS Lite, so I was never able to trade my Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald & Fire Red/Leaf Green Pokemon over to the DS generation of games.

If I am being totally honest with you though I think Game Freak will allow generation transfers I just hope they don't personally.

I wouldn't mind starting over. I completed the National Dex for White 2, so if it is transferable it's just a matter of spending a large amount of time transferring stuff to (X?), and then completing the new region's dex. Fun.

A fresh start for everyone would set everyone on the same page again, and with the worldwide launch it's really fitting. Now's as good a time as ever for a clean slate. Plus, there's always Gen 5 games for online battles with your old pokemon.

Though I admit I would be pissed if I crafted the perfect online team from scratch over a few years and couldn't transfer them.

Good point about the world wide release. It really does make more sense to have a clean slate for that.

As for your final point about being annoyed if you perfected a team, I still struggle to see why this would be SO annoying.

Obviously the main reason would be all the time you put into the team but.... even if you were able to transfer the odds of that team being viable to compete with no Gen 6 updates would be next to nothing. Almost all Pokemon change their tier and usefulness with the release of a new game/Gen .

On the subject of hacking, Nintendo is never going to be able completely block it out. I know Nintendo will never do this but I think the easiest way to stop it is if Nintendo made their own way of "hacking". Like some kind of eShop app that lets you modify your Pokemon. But when you use that app, it puts a check on your Pokemon to let the game know that they've been modified. And Pokemon modified through the app either can't be used online or can online be used in special servers. I mean if there's a server dedicated to people either using modified Pokemon or people who KNOW the people they're going up against will have modified Pokemon, then I don't see the problem. Of course there will still be people who hack through other means and still be assholes online but the numbers will be fewer.

I really like this idea as a way of stopping hacks vs legit.

I would not be against this idea at all.

The only problem with it is it kind of negates the need for IV's, EV's and such actually being made available in the game.

Other than that, it's almost the perfect solution.

I'm not sure that would be effective at all. Casual cheaters who just want to "catch em all" as it were, the kind who would actually use that application, really aren't the problem you've described as they wouldn't care about online play or making a strong team.

Those who currently cheat competitively, the real problem, are still going to look for ways to get those modified Pokemon online, so nothing changes.

Pretty much. As long as it's possible to do, people can and will cheat in any environment in the pursuit of glory.

Having one server for the cheaters and one for everyone else is just beyond wishful thinking, and they're certainly not going to have a separate section in the Championships for cheaters. What kind of message does any of that send? That cheating is okay, sometimes? From Pok?mon? I don't think so. That's why I'm 99.9% sure that this will not ever happen above all other reasons.

1. I'm very excited for X and Y. I will probably be getting Y myself but that may change depending on what information is released before it's release.
2. International launch will be awesome. We'll all be starting fresh at around the same time.
3. The graphics look fine to me, Kid Icarus didn't look that spectacular in trailers and gameplay footage but in person it's beautiful. I doubt GF would give us B/W graphics on a much more powerful system.
4. The starters design is fine. I don't get how anyone can call them "uninspired" have you seen some of the pokemon we've had in the past? Someone is on a nostalgia high.
5. I was originally going to go for Chespin, and I voted for him but the more I look at Froakie, I can't help but rethink my decision. I've generally always gone for the water starter to begin with. Fennekin is nice but I feel like GF is trying to sell it as the fan favorite. I mean it's a fire fox, what isn't appealing about that? I'll get a good laugh if it ends up being a fire/fighting type though.

.......Why do people not think you will be able to transfer pokemon to the new games? It's been kind of a "thing" that nintendo does now . They'll do it after you beat the elite 4 just like always. But I liked the idea of 6 maximum per day to encourage you to try and get the pokemon in that game instead of just getting freebies.

Time is constant. But in all seriousness, lucky. Time is going slowly for me.

When are the other amazing 3DS games being released this year? I know Fire Emblem, but we still don't know when Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing are coming out. Oh yeah, we know Mystery Dungeon.

But still, time will go slow until Fire Emblem comes out, then fast while I play it. Then slow until the next game (Most likely Mystery Dungeon) then fast while I play. Wash, rinse and repeat with the other 3DS and Wii U games and Pokemon seems like it is a millenia away.

Game Freak's REALLY outdone themselves this time. X and Y already go above and beyond my expectations with full 3D graphics and a dynamic camera. (Finally!)

Can't wait to get back into the series after I left it in Gen V. I'll probably get Y because its legendary is higher on the awesometude scale. As for Starters, I'm torn between the Grass and Fire ones ;_; Hope I'll be able to decide by the time October rolls in.

That's actually impossible to do due to the way Pokemon data is checked.
Legal PID As in the right combos of number that takes Gender, Ability, Nature and Shininess into account.)
If the PID is legal, than there's no way to differentiate a modified pokemon from a natural one. If the PID doesn,t correspond to the data mentioned above, it's fake and therefore will be banned.

Then there's are moves to take account, if it's a move it can't learn it will be banned.
EV's 255 in one stat, 510 in total. If it exceeds, it's banned
IV ranges from 0-31 for each stat. Technically it is possible to make a perfect pokemon with 31 IV in each stat. It is hard though. And ,it will not be banned whatsoever.
Fun fact: N's pokemon in Pokemon B2/W2 that you can earn all have perfect IV's in each stat.
Pokeballs, Where it is caught, events, time of day, etc
I could go on and on on how it is comepletly easy to make a mod. pokemon act like a legal one, with no way to differentiate between the 2. Which is why allowing a server for mod. pokemon would be useless. + It wouldn't be the right thing to do since it will encourage people to cheat.

Ive been doing some analyze lately and Im not totally sold by this new versions, I mean Ive seen people who say "Ill reserve them as fast as the store allows me" and tbh that sounds silly and I think thats why gamefreak can throw us everything with the word pokemon and we will always buy it, for me in the personal I dont see X and Y as the best 3ds games (from what Ive seen so far) they dont even look as the best Ds games and even though some people will blindlessly buy a 3ds just for playing it without even knowing what Streetpass means, as for me Im not at all sold by the 3d graphics and New generation thing, If this game doesnt come with the 3ds games standards qualities with everything the 3ds can bring to the table I think I'll just pass over and wait until Z is avaible on 2014 and maybe Ill keep up with the new generation by other methods but I wont pay for a new 3ds game only because it has the word Pokemon on it, This is my opinion

They clearly stated that the gameplay was not final. They have roughly nine months to make the game better. Who knows how old that footage could have been, it could have actually been earlier than now in the development.

Yeah I do love MK7 because I feel the efforcement put in making that game! And Im not judging X and Y too quickly I know they will get a lot better due time. 5 Pokemon + a trailer is a HUGE reveal for a Pokemon game. Much better than just legendaries, or silhouettes.

Explain to me how you take offense for the fact other people don't get the same experiences from one system than you do.

Having more people buy the 3ds just for this game will be a good thing no matter what. Even if lets say half of them don't do anything with it some of them will notice the potential the system has and may even make their way to this forum.

Don't hate the game, hate the fact that no other game was appealing enough to bring people in.

Have you ever played Pokemon X or Y? Have you played every 3DS game? Is your OPINION regarded as fact for some reason?

For me, the best game would be a game that has replayability, is fun, and has content. Pokemon has all three. Others do also, but so far Pokemon Heart Gold is my most played game on my 3DS, not counting the hours I spent on it on my regular DS. I believe Pokemon X/Y could become the best game on the system, beating out Kid Icarus. OPINION

I really hope we get new info soon. Also, I hope Nintendo make Limited Edition 3DS XLs for Pokemon X and Y. The respective legendary on each one. I mean, it seems very likely. They made two for Charizard and Pikachu, and they even are bringing the Fire Emblem 3DS to NA, so they seem to listen to fans.

For me, the best game would be a game that has replayability, is fun, and has content. Pokemon has all three. They made two for Charizard and Pikachu, and they even are bringing the Fire Emblem 3DS to NA, so they seem to listen to fans.

Well Im really talking as if Im drunk because I am currently playing Pokemon Black 2 on my 3Ds xD, I think am judging the game too far because they havent even say anything it "-", the thing that make me talk like a complete *** is that a friend who bougth a 3ds to another friend for a Sale is planning to buy the game (even preorder it) and he was just talking *** about the 3ds saying it was kiddie and other kind of stuff, then about 2 weeks ago another friend with 3ds lent him Revelations and he said he was blown up for the graphics and everything then he said "it was weird to see something good from "NINTENDO" (and Capcom made the game) when it is about graphics and games" he is a Sony lover and it really sickens me seeing he hasnt even Updated his 3ds and doesnt use about any future of it... But anyway you're rigth more people buying 3ds means more support and good thing will be coming

So are you saying when Pokemon first came out it was garbage or every game after the first ones? Either way, you're wrong. What could GF do with the graphical style in Gen. 2? It wasn't possible to make it 3D until now, at least on handheld. They went with 2.5D to change it up.

I finally voted for Chespin. Grass has always been my type of choice although I'll need some warming up to the rodent idea, especially after having become so close to my Snivy. I hope there is the possibility of trading from B/W and B2/W2.

I don't know what they have done, but I think we'll have to wait and see where this is going, concerning gameplay and graphics.
Maybe I'll wait for the next trailer, even though I'm willing to avoid any news about how the starters will evolve.

I don't see them doing that, considering how painfully bad they turned out in the stadium games when they tried it then, but maybe enhancing them for 3ds speakers.
