Kirby's Epic Yarn was a game I got for a Christmas long ago that I started but let fade into the background somewhat, but I finally picked it up months later and thoroughly enjoyed it to the end.

I'm so excited to see the art style return for Yoshi, and in gleaming HD, the yarn look of the graphics is going to be a treat for the eyes, for sure. That, and it's also exciting to see Yoshi FINALLY return to a console adventure - it's been a long time since Yoshi's Story and that's among my childhood favorites.

Anyone else excited?

I'm liking that Yoshi is back in the lime light, but I didn't buy into the yarn thing. Kirby's Epic Yarn was graphically pleasing and definitely cute, but I was never sold on the idea.

Hopefully this will change with Yoshi. I really would love to see more gameplay footage, but we'll have to wait.

Yeah, that'll surely come soon, seeing as this game is a 2013 title. I'm stoked. Some of the screenshots were less directly 2D and had more of a camera angle to them, if you know what I mean. I hope that that wasn't just for the screens and actually occurs in-game.

Agreed. I play WiiU at my brother's house so I don't own one myself yet because I know they'll produce another version in a year's time that will be better. I'll give it a try if he ends up buying the game, but otherwise it might slip off the radar.

Definitely super cute though. Lots of merch opportunities with this title.

Yarn Yoshi's a pretty silly name.

I am hoping they add more elements to it than Kirby where you just pulled enemies and transformed. Also, up the difficulty. KEY was very easy. Otherwise, Yoshi rumors turned out to be true. A ton of rumors have been true lately.

Yoshi's Story pretty much defined my childhood, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this. As for the yarn...I don't really have an opinion on Kirby's Epic Yarn so same for this.

the game is really pretty looking and the "handmade craft" style suits the yoshi series really well, but i'm just worried that this looks like more of an epic yarn 2 than a yoshi game

oh also i'm reaaaally hoping it's not like yoshi's story because that would make me very sad

SRT is like the rebellious 12 year old. Confused about his sexuality, gets mad at his parents and leaves the house for a couple of hours claiming he's never coming back.

The game looks wonderful. It seems to pretty much be Kirby's Epic Yarn with Yoshi characters, right down to gem collection and the way enemies die. I hope we see elements that separate itself from Epic Yarn.

I like that it appears that the game will not be all 100% for one, and then also having 2.5d sections to really seperate it from being just literally yoshi's epic yarn. This has potentiall to really be a great game, and it definitely already looks really nice graphically.

This looks pretty good. I played a couple levels of the Yoshi game on my brother's 3DS and loved it. Add in the yarn art style and second most anticipated WiiU game.

I loved Kirby's Epic Yarn so, yeah, definitely looking forward to this.

Hopefully, they'll add some gameplay twists to differentiate from the Kirby game.

I did not like Kirby's epic yarn, what's the point of a platformer with no death? It was far too easy. The style is very nice, but the gameplay is just boring. I hope this is harder.

Haven't played Kirby's Epic Yarn, but I loved Yoshi's Story as a kid and am loving playing through Yoshi's Island now. Really glad to see Yoshi have his own game again, and the crochet/embroidery style looks nice. Looking forward to seeing how the gameplay is.

I can't look at the main yarn yoshi pic without wanting to start making an amigurumi like it, though. I think the only thing stopping me is that I don't have yarn in the right color green.

It's one of the first games that's actually made me wish I had a Wii U. This needy feeling might need to be remedied...

Yoshis Story was an ok game. I wouldn't say its the worst game in the world, but I have seen better Yoshi games in my day. The best Yoshi game they came out with was Yoshis Island. Since then, it kinda went downhill.

Didn't they make a Yoshi game on the DS?

There's only two yoshi games, so I guess if you count one game, then it went down hill.

I'm excited for this but I think I would of much preferred a Yoshi's Story or Yoshi's Island sequel instead. Still I did enjoy Kirby's Epic Yarn so this should be a great game

^ Ditto. I'd love another Yoshi's Island game. Kirby's Epic Yarn was fun for awhile but I got bored with it rather quickly. If this is more like previous Yoshi games and not a copy/paste of Kirby's Epic Yarn I'll probably get it. I need more screenshots or videos of game play of this before I decide for sure.
